Well here we are on volume 5!! Plenty of room for growing bumps and stashes of Thermometers and pee sticks!!

This thread WILL bring BFPs, everything crossed ladies apart from your legs!!

OP posts:

batteryhen - that'll teach them for being so inappropriately inquisitive!
LOL at your food shopping! I have to admit eating the pineapple chunks at the buffet I was at with work last week for ttc purposes!

mouse - I'm also glad you've got some time off. Try and take some time for you and spoil yourself with whatever it is that may put a smile on your face.

MrsA - I also nearly fell asleep on the sofa this afternoon but now feel like I have a cold coming. I've taken extra vitamin C and zinc as well as my pg vits!

Digi - not sure if I'll regret asking this as maybe TMI, but can you tell me about how cervix position changes and how to check Blush I've got the CBFM, OPKs, check CM and obviously temp but have never fully understood cervix position.

Hello everyone else!

mousebacon · 30/01/2011 20:40

Good for you battery Grin xx

AuntieDoris · 30/01/2011 21:10

Hello ladies. I am still here but have been busy celebrating my DH's 30th birthday (oh it's good to have a toy boy!)

Have been trying to chart but not getting up at the usual time and drinking lots of wine seem to be making things go up and down.

Here's my chart

Still hoping this month might be it for us. Got stupidly upset when a friend on Facebook was going on about doing her nursery, going on maternity leave etc etc. It all feels so unfair as she got married in July last year, 3 months after us, and they weren't actively trying to conceive. Bugger!

Karbea · 30/01/2011 21:51

AuntieD your chart does look up and down, probably due to the different wake up times, im not overly precise about when I do it either, so my chart is uppy downy too Smile

jaggythistle · 31/01/2011 05:37

temp taken at wrong time today and after

essenceofSES · 31/01/2011 06:06

Jaggy - sorry for your rubbish night's sleep.

I woke up at 5am so took my temp then. I normally take it when my alarm goes off at 6.10am. I jet read that if you take your temp an hour early, you can add 0.2 to it. How accurate is that theory?

jaggythistle · 31/01/2011 07:49

never really read much about how the temp varies...

my temp always seems higher after a crap sleep or taking it late.

if i get time i might Google it!

going to try really hard not to surf at work though. think there are a few random checks going on so not a good idea to spend too long!

essenceofSES · 31/01/2011 08:13

Well my temp at 5am was 36.74 and then when I took it at the usual time of 6.10am (after lying in bed for that time MNing on my phone) it was 36,60.
Guess, as usual, I'll wait for tomorrow's temp!

I probably won't be on much during the day - I hate how work gets in the way ofMN Grin

kateepie2 · 31/01/2011 08:36

Morning lovelies!

Through the first week of the 2ww, just the 1ww to go now, phew!

Chart here if you fancy a look-see Smile

Absolutely no symptoms this weekend, have been drinking pineapple juice as if its going out of fashion, so hopefully that will make a difference!

jaggy hope you can have a nice rest later!

xx

angster · 31/01/2011 09:43

Morning Ladies

essence - I have read thata you can add 0.2 for an hour early too. My temps shoot up after a bad night or if I have drunk alcohol or take it after 7am..I guess it's the general pattern.

kateepie - is pineapple juice suppose to be good for ttc?

auntieD - i have my DH's 30th this year too...toyboys are great aren't they, apart from it makes me feel the ttc pressure a bit more!!

Hope everyone has a good MOnday!

kateepie2 · 31/01/2011 09:49

angster some people reckon that pineapple juice (which contains selenium) promotes a richer lining, so therefore more hospitable to the bean

angster · 31/01/2011 11:20

oh good tip, thanks kateepie! I will have to add this on to my list of things which seem!

Newgolddream · 31/01/2011 11:49

Just a quick hello for the moment, sneaking on my phone at work.

digitalgirl · 31/01/2011 12:33

Temp shot up today

Am teetering on the brink of a triphasic shift or the top of a rollercoaster fall. I'm too scared to take tomorrows temp in case it drops and shatters the illusion. No symptoms to speak of...

essence no such thing as tmi on this thread! So, cervix checking - it's best to check at the same time each day eg in the shower. Stick a leg up on the side of the bath and have a rummage. You'll only be able to tell the difference between soft/firm, high/low and open/closed once you've done it for a month. Soft, high and open should correspond with ewcm as its when your most fertile. Low, firm and closed is in its non fertile state. I find my cervix is tricky to read between af and ovulation (but that could be having mild pcos). There's a really noticeable difference after I've ovulated though (where it's definitely low, very firm and closed) so I can then trust the temp rise. However if you have regular cycles and are also doing opk's and charting then there's probably no need to check your cervix apart from to double check it's closed and that you have definitely ovulated. I don't do opk's as I have had false positives in the past - also I get at least two batches of ewcm before I actually ovulate so it helps me work our whether to keep on swi-ing.

Karbea · 31/01/2011 13:24

Digital Aww lucky thing [[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/332dc0
mine]] is tettering just above the line and i'm only on DPO5 Sad

jaggythistle · 31/01/2011 15:02

Fail at no work surfing!

I did resist even logging onto a computer for well over an hour there though...

chart

Sort of glad I don't know if my temp is accurate today, less disapointing than a falling temp!

Sory all for so much lack of sleep moaning - it has been a crappy couple of weeks with DS having this bug. he seems 100% back to normal though and is bouncing about happily eating everything in sight... He's just forgotten how to sleep all night and not wake me up. I was just getting used to him being good at sleeping :)

Off to do more work...

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 31/01/2011 15:10

Popping on quickly - snowed under here (work wise)

DPOwww.fertilityfriend.com/home/MrsArch not much to say. Temps higher than previous cycles but that could be acupuncture perhaps.
Hopeing for some good shifts upwards in next few days.

DG know what you mean - I wish I could stop temping now and see what happens, the temp drop is SO depressing. The obssessive in me won't let me stop though.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 31/01/2011 15:21

Stupid typo! www.fertilityfriend.com/home/MrsArch

kateepie2 · 31/01/2011 15:42

mrsarch looking at your combined chart it looks like you usually dip a bit around CD32 and then rise again?

xx

mrsden · 31/01/2011 15:47

Your chart is looking good Jaggy! And that is an impressive temp hike digital. I know what you mean about dreading a fall.

Karbea your chart looks good too, I read somewhere that you can't really compare charts (even though it has now become a favourite hobby of mine) because people have very different temp ranges, some people will see big variations and some people very little. It doesn't mean one is better than the other. As long as there is a definite shift between pre and post ovulation temps.

My temp didn't fall this morning, I really thought it would and was dreading taking my temp this morning. But it didn't go up either. And now I have a tiny amount of brown spotting, it is only there when I wipe but it is there so I fully expect AF to turn up soon. I am gutted. This is my first month temping and at least I now know that it looks as though I do ovulate and my LP is an ok length. But after 7 months, I am beginning to think it is never going to happen. Oh, and I met my friend for lunch today and she has just told me she is pregnant, with twins Shock. And they weren't trying, just a happy accident. I am very happy for her but I am also Envy and feel like the worst friend in the world for feeling this.

mrsden · 31/01/2011 15:53

mychart

angster · 31/01/2011 16:00

oh mrsd , i will cross fingers that this brown spotting isn't AF> Know what you mean about the dreading of the temp taking...and every month that AF comes, the thinking it will never happen as well. It's gutting when a friend tells you they're pregnant. there is no other way of describing it - i find it like a punch in the stomach and you're not a bad friend, it's a natural feeling when you want sth so badly and it's taking blooming ages. Also, I never think it helps when someone says it was an accident and they weren't trying. If they said, we have been trying for years, then I'm sure it would make the news easier!!

jaggy - great chart!

right better get back to work. i'm concerned computers might be monitored and then i really will be in trouble.

mousebacon · 31/01/2011 16:32

Ooh digi, you know I've always rooted for you - fingers crossed this is it. Smile

I've been out to the coast with a friend today which has kept my mind off things but then made the mistake of googling '2 mc in a row' and have put myself on a real downer. I find myself hoping I have a dodgy thyroid just to have an answer - think I might be slightly mad!

Ah well, tomorrow's another day eh?

digi hope you don't mind me asking but are you frightened of falling pg again? At the moment I think the next time I'm pg (fingers crossed) I'll just want to lie down in a dark room for 9 months. Does that sound normal?

jaggythistle · 31/01/2011 16:55

MrsA I'd feel much more relaxed if I wasn't squinting at my thermometer at stupid o'clock, I'll never resist taking the temp though:)

Cos I'm in the 2WW I confess that instead of just slinging the thermometer down and reading off the temp later, I use the light from the baby monitor to see the temp Blush

obsessed, me - course not...

digitalgirl · 31/01/2011 17:18

mouse it's good to get that fresh sea air to blow the cobwebs away. Would so love a bfp but yes frickin' terrified. Worrying won't stop me miscarrying. This is how I'm currently rationalising it: there is a new nk cells paper being published in May/June after a 5 year research programme. It's the only thing my nhs consultant hasn't tested for. If I get pg and miscarry again (Sad) before may then I'll push for these tests. If I don't get pg by may then I'll push for the tests anyway.

No bfp means no worrying, but it also means no baby. Which i still want more than an easy life (let's face it, no one has a baby for an easy life!).

mrsden twins? By accident? Well that's just bloody selfish of your friend. Grin

angster yes, I liken pg announcements to a punch in the stomach. Especially when theyve had no trouble ttc or suffered any miscarriages (not that you'd wish that on anyone) it's their complete lack of awareness that a pg doesn't always mean a baby.

mrsa sometimes I don't look at my temp after I've taken it and wait till later in the day. Or if it's a drop i input it but don't look at the chart. Funny how you develop coping mechanisms with charting as it's almost like taking a daily hpt.
