The resurrection of the 6th form common room for those inbetweeners who are TTC/PG after mc and are too long in the tooth to fit anywhere else

The resurrection of the 6th form common room, a place to put your feet up, wallow in self pity (me) or rejoice (and tremble in fright) at new growing beans and baybees after mc. No lists. No stats. No babydust. No feeling bad if you can't keep up.

Go.

eek! Mummya I'm so excited for you! What a lovely birthday present!! Sending you all the luck in the world that the line gets darker over the next few days and you're cuddling a delightful DC2 in 8 months time! You've really been through the mill and deserve this.

Youremindmeofthebabe · 23/02/2011 13:07

Woohoo! Hurrah mummya! Massive Congratulations xx

Velvetcu · 23/02/2011 13:15

yay mummya woohooooo

my line on a cheapie last friday was quite faint so I did a cb digi just to be sure :)

AandRMum · 23/02/2011 13:20

MummyA I am pages and a day or so behind in reading but just had to respond to your AS advice. What a shit ... although I would have to say reading the doctor's advice, it seems more of a precautionary measure rather than any certainty of scarring. You seem to be doing well on all factors other than lining. Lots of finger crossing ...

AandRMum · 23/02/2011 13:21

Oooooo I just posted my last note and then was jumped to the last page to see ... could it be .... burrow bean burrow!!!! Must go read the last page!!!

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 13:24

Happy birthday to jollyjollster

AliTheMinx · 23/02/2011 13:44

AandRMum · 23/02/2011 13:44

MummyA I am just so chuffed for you. Grin Grin

Happy birthday lovely ladies!

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 13:45

Hurray! Mummy that is such wonderful news. I really hope the line gets darker and you get a beautiful sticky bean. This has been a long time coming and would be the perfect birthday present after a crap old year for you. Everything crossed for you and Grin Grin Grin Grin at your news x

Happy birthday to both Mummy and Jolls my fellow February ladies.

Battery I wasn't so sure about a December baby but now it actually starts to sound quite lovely bringing a baby home at that time of year with all the twinkly lights, christmas decs up etc (Incidentally I've managed to find a positive reason for each month of the year from May onwards so far since mc. I'm past caring now and any month will do!)

Well, give that the science of temping and opking hasn't produced any wiggle beans yet I'm resorting to ridiculous superstitions and silly old wives tales to help me get pg. Just walked back from swimming with DD and there was an almighty din above our heads. Looked up and saw 2 magpies in a tree, quickly joined by two more. Hurrah. That's that sorted, I'll fall pg this month and it'll be a girl. Pleased we've got that settled then..

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 13:58

Mummy As Queen Widdlesticks I can't believe you only have one brand of test in your bathroom cupboard? I imagine you to have a filing system with different brands arranged in DPO order according to their sensitivity.

DoubleDiffedDachs · 23/02/2011 13:59

mummya That's fab! I will go fluff up your beanbag! Grin

Velvetcu · 23/02/2011 14:04

Oh forgot to tell everyone as well as SMEPing this month I was scoffing brazil nuts post ov if that helps :)

Yay again for mummya

notsobarrenmorebrokenbrook · 23/02/2011 14:04

KnitterNotTwitter · 23/02/2011 14:21

Great news MummyA :)

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 14:32

oooh, you are making it all seem real! Good to know feint line on a cheapie = strong line on a FR

wigglewhomakesmegiggle Yes, I do have more than one brand and yes I just weed on the other one. Feint line like the first one. No first response out here but I can walk down to the clinic at the end of my road and get a blood test. 7 quid for yes or no answer and 15 quid for quantative HCG. I will definitely monitor the HCG at some point but probably still a bit early no?

Now I am thinking maybe I should tell DH later... he is coming back for lunch and we are going out for dinner (from 5pm to 7pm due to baby sitting restrictions Confused) so it could be a good time. oooooohh feel really nervous about telling him in case its too early and turns out to be chemical and once I tell him it means its REAL.

you guys are all fantastic by the way, so glad to have all your support! xxxxx

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 14:47

Ooh, ooh, I've just been doing a bit of googling on your behalf and lots of people seem to say faint cheapie = strong line on FR too! How exciting!! I'm made up for you !

It would be lovely to tell your dh over dinner. I don't think I'd be able to keep it a secret any longer than that though. And how would you explain away not having a glass of vino on your birthday?!! Does he know when you'd expect to test? My dh is blardy useless in that sense (asks if I'm pregnant/ have tested at 2dpo etc).

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 14:57

wiggle DH has already been primed with "I am cutting down drinking drastically for TTC" He did ask about when I was going to test and I said I was going to wait for AF Shock he has never seen my stock pile of OPK/HPT's so he actually believed meShockShockGrin

To be honest, I am nervous about telling him as TTC has been such a big issue in the past. I am like you though, I wont be able to keep it a secret for long.

Would it be riduculous to get a blood test this early? Blush the whole feint line thing is making me feel like a fraud, as it seems so inconclusive.

getawiggleon · 23/02/2011 15:10

Mummy I know how you feel. Men tend to see things in black and white more than we do - either you're pregnant or you're not, they can't deal with the faint pink grey bits in between. And I've found with DH that he doesn't need to know all the little ins and outs with ttc (eugh, I've just realised that that sounds like a terrible pun!)
After all the counselling etc that you've been through etc it would be nice to give him a definite result rather than the roller-coaster of faint lines etc. Plus peace of mind for you too.

Is there anyway you could sneak down to clinic for blood test? Crikey, if blood tests cost the same as hpts do here and were as readily available as that I'd be in there every week!

loola2shus · 23/02/2011 15:10

Yay!!! Fantastic news mummya Absolutely thrilled for you! Grin and a line is a line lady!

mummyabroad · 23/02/2011 15:33

Right, blood test it is then. I think I will use the same excuse as for everyday testing, if i dont do it, I will just spend the whole blinking day thinking about doing it.

'Tis one of the advantages of living in a third world country, anything that has low raw materials costs and just involves manual labour is really cheap. Scans are only about £25 too, but the ones I tend to get are by better doctors and therefore £35-50

Velvetcu · 23/02/2011 15:48

When are you getting tested mummya? do you get the results straight away?? I'm more excited for you than I am for me! Grin Grin
