Oh WW - why did you tell me about that?!?! obviously I have just signed up Blush!!!

strawberrypie · 14/01/2011 16:34

Fantastic news 100! A heartbeat already!

bebejones · 14/01/2011 19:03

Sorry I missed all the excitement, our broadband has been off all day! BT can't come and check it til Tuesday, & our phone is crackling so loudly it's impossible to hold a conversation!!

100 - That is such brilliant news, I am so relieved & happy for you! :) Sorry you are so sick. Eat little & often & try & drink as much as possible, just keep sipping, because puking on an empty stomach is horrid!

Spent 4.5 hours decorating DHs cake today! Knackered now!

Hopefully will get back on again over the weekend!

Aaaaaaarrrgghh! DHs cousin is 12wks PG with her 3rd! Want to be happy for her but feel rotten! Envy :(

Somebody slap me!

OP posts:
MrsSatsuma · 14/01/2011 20:37

I can't slap you, my DH's cousin has just announced she is pg with her fourth - the youngest is only 5 months! :) for her but also Envy Tell you what, we'll both slap each other at the same time!!

AmandaCooper · 14/01/2011 21:03

Logistically it is much easier if you slap yourselves on one another's behalf.

bebejones · 14/01/2011 21:37

Wow Mrs, when DD was 5 months having DH anywhere near me was absolutely the last thing on my mind!! She is a very brave woman!

Consider yourself virtually slapped...I have actually slapped myself!

Think whoever said about DH being too stressed to procreate was probably right. He is stressed up to his eyeballs (again) and no end in sight. Can't be healthy for one person to have his workload. :(

I'll tell you what Bebe, and I hesitated too long about saying this before when Quodlibet (was it Quod?) was talking about it - but when I went through a bad bout of depression a couple of years ago, having a baby was absolutely the last thing I wanted and I told a very close friend at the time that the reason was that I felt it was better not to ever be born. Obviously I don't feel that way anymore.

AstroZola · 15/01/2011 09:21

WhyWait and JS - i really hope you both get your BFP's.

I find it quite nerve wracking when i think about TTC for the first time and it not happening immediately...I'm sure come October onwards I'll drive you all crazy!! Smile

Bebe - is it possible that your OH is saying he doesn't want another child now because he is so stressed...maybe talk to him about telling work he has too little work-life balance and it's causing problems?? Just a thought! xxx

AC - totally understand about the ddepression...been there myself...and have had the same exact thought...i'm still on my meds and have to start weaning off them now if i'm to TTC this year...does anyone know how likely it is that i'll end up with post-natal depression??

My friend that is only 6 weeks PG had an early scan yesterday because off all her complications and there was a heartbeat and everything is fine at this point. Waiting until 12 weeks is going to be awful and even beyond that given her history...thinking sticky thoughts and also little girl thoughts!!!

bebejones · 15/01/2011 09:24

Definitely think that's the key. I really don't think he will feel like this forever. In my heart I just don't think he will & my head really hopes not!

Woke up with tummy tingles & (TMI) pant snot!! So maybe OV today. Maybe I could convince him to have some Birthday sex! (Disclaimer: That's a joke, I wouldn't do that!!!)

strawberrypie · 15/01/2011 10:58

Ha ha Bebe! I hope he likes his cake! I would struggle to let anyone eat it if I had spent so much time and effort decorating it! Will we be able to see some pictures?

bebejones · 15/01/2011 12:31

Astro - I x posted with you this morning! Unfortunately DH is self-employed, his boss is his Dad! Now I know for most people that would make it easy to say how they are affected by workload...but sadly not for DH! Hmm

Strawberry - I don't think I shall be able to be in the room when DH cuts it! Will upload a pic when broadband is a bit more reliable! Confused

OP posts:
squirrel007 · 15/01/2011 16:12

bebe we definitely need cake pictures!!

100years I remember reading that the heart starts beating around 5weeks pg - that seems amazing to me! So early, and it's just a tiny little thing that early.

js and whywait early testing is a bad idea! There was a thread about it recently - the early response tests aren't actually that accurate, and getting a faint line just isn't reassuring! Plus, if you get a negative, you still have no idea until AF arrives (have I convinced you? :) )

I dragged DH maternity clothes shopping today -have decided that stretchy trousers are definitely necessary. Am pleasantly surprised by the choice available. I don't have a bump yet but I am definitely rounder, and none of my pre-pg trousers do up now.

Quodlibet · 15/01/2011 17:10

AstroZola I don't know what the odds are with PND if you've suffered depression before (something I've wondered too) but I am reassured that if you do have the misfortune to get it, you're probably in a better place to recognise it and get some prompt help before it really takes hold than someone who's never had depression before.

I saw that early testing thread too - the link to the evidence on (I think?) FF was really compelling - basically the only people who benefit from early testing are the test manufacturers. I can totally understand the unbearable itch to do it though.

At the PILS for Xmas 2.0 this weekend; I'd better get off MN and get stuck into the board games!

(Bebe your cake sounds amazing btw- awaiting a picture too. Your family are incredibly lucky to have you I reckon.)

jbells · 15/01/2011 19:35

ahhh im finfing it sooo hard to find a good suitable double pram, getting a single one was so much easier and a lot more enjoyable

nannyl · 15/01/2011 19:47

jbells

nipper 360 or mountain buggy are a dream to push.
If you like phil and teds they are really easy to push too
and the Jane 3 wheeler tandem one. (Think its a power track or something)

Personally i wouldnt consider any other double!

jbells · 15/01/2011 19:51

nannyl-i did like the phil and teds but when the baby has to go in lie down position for first 6months the 2nd added seat is far to small for DD

also liked jogger city select double but havnt saw it in a shop yet and it may be far to heavy big for my car

also saw the britax b double but not sure about the seat underneath

i cud barely get my silvercross thru my front door so a side by side is a no go for me

havnt saw the jane 3 wheeler will have a look now

thanks :)

nannyl · 15/01/2011 19:57

a nipper /mountain buggy are both narrower than a maclaren type umbrella

they are also no wider than a wheel chair.

amicralight (single) is only a tiny bit narrower than the mountain buggy double (measured it when nannying) so if a wheel chair will fit through the door then these should too, although a maclaren porbably wont!

bebejones · 16/01/2011 14:54

DH has got our mobile broadband working, will upload photo to profile. I can't stop too long coz it's costing me money!!

Howdy folks!

How were the board games Quod? I hope you played Articulate... if not, get it because it's quite fun! (I have to say I am somewhat biased, being rubbish at every board game apart from that one) Although Cranium is good for making relative look daft :)

bebe - hope your DH liked his cake :) It sounds like he's under a lot of pressure. I agree with the others about depression - it can be hard to think about anything else when you're feeling like that. I'm sure you know this but try not to take it personally because you won't be the reason.

nannyl is hereby designated Offical Train Allthingsbaby Consultant due to her organisation and seemingly vast knowledge bank!

OV test line has been getting stronger and stronger over past few days - hoping very much for a positive today as am on CD 19!!! Bit worried this wouldn't give time for any sparkly bean to attach itself... Wish I could just stop thinking about it for five minutes!!
