Beep Beep

The August Bus departs tomorrow....

Come and join me if you are TTC an August baby [hgrin]

This is my first bus and I think I am being brave in starting the engine.

sillybillymummy · 18/11/2010 20:45

This bus moves so fast - just giving everyone a sunny smile (i have nearly done all my xmas shopping today, so feeling rather smug)

A question for fellow bus ladies...
Its out swi-ing time, but i have had to go out a couple of nights in a row.. and Dh been asleep when got home - i found myself feeling really miffed as i'm sure i OV'd yesterday and haven't SWI'd for 3 days :-(

I actually started feeling like i shouldn't have gone last night.. and we should be putting our want for a baby first - Should i just start keeping that 'time of the month' free??? Its gettign ridiculous that we can't even attempt to ttc because we are both always so busy, yet we are upset every month when AF turns up.. - does anyone else have this issue?

mslk · 18/11/2010 22:47

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies, and for adding my stats GetDown.

Sending you positive vibes for testing tomorrow QOTCW, sorry you?re having to wait though. I can only imagine how frustrating and upsetting it is.

Hi Level and you?re right Aurorasky, it is nice here.

Congrats Pixie, but understand your concerns over timing

CMD83 ? I?m telling myself that feeling sick earlier is more to do with a bug going round than anything else, as I?m only a few Days PO too I believe.

SillyBillyMummy ? Good question, and something to think about. Not the same but of a similar ilk. Do I/we, carry on going out and possibly drinking and alike while TTC or do I/we be good and try and dodge the funny looks and questions if we don?t have a glass in our hand?!

Eskarina · 18/11/2010 22:58

sillybillymummy I know what you mean, but I'm taking the view that TTC comes on top of normal life. It could take a while to conceive (it is taking a while...) and I don't want to put my whole life on hold possobly indefinitely.
Also, if you ov'd yesterday and had DTD 2 days before that then you've quite possibly hit the window anyway - sperm can last several days on the inside.

I've got a date for my initial investigations, but not until 9th December. It feels both ages away and too close all at the same time. It seems like it's taking a while to get the ball rolling, but if there is more of a problem there than my GP is expecting then I'm not ready to know about it yet. [sigh]

Also it should be prime SWI time this weekend, but my parents are coming to stay. If I get a positive OPK we might just have to find a way of getting it done quietly though Blush

sillybillymummy · 19/11/2010 00:28

mslk I wouldn't have survived the last 7 months ttc without a few drinks along the way.. everytime i get a bfn, i have a glass of wine to cheer me up! Maybe I will ease up on the drinking after chrimbo!

Eskarina i read that as 'you should put ttc before anything else' , then i realised that you meant.. ttc comes with normal life... because i have to keep it in perspective. It was just hard when one of my friends last night was saying to another friend 'there is only 2 days a month when you can get pregnant' - and i wanted to get up grab my bag and say, i have to go, because it is one of those days!! The realisation, that i should be at home, hopping on DH! and not sat chattering away about 'wanting another baby'!

Fingers crossed for everyone testing this weekend :-)

BabsH · 19/11/2010 06:44

Morning all,

Just wanted to add in my opinion on TTC. I think that like Eskarina TTC is just one part of your life, so I wouldnt be putting everything else on hold. If nothing else, being so focussed on having a baby might in fact make it harder to conceive, relaxing about it might just be the right thing, plus you will then have time out with your friends and have other things to think about rather than just making babies.

I havent given up drinking, caffiene, soft cheese etc, only had those things in moderation anyway and I guess that I am enjoying them until I have to give them up for months and months and months.....

It's so hard when other people are having babies all round but I try hard to be excited for them and look forward till it might be my time :o

sillybillymummy · 19/11/2010 10:11

I totally agree babsH - it is so easy to get a bit obsessed though!

I am really enjoying all of my friends babies atm.. and actually don't think its a bad thing if it takes longer ttc, as it will mean, i will have an extra year with DC3 before they go to school!

GetDownYouWillFall · 19/11/2010 10:40

Hi there ladies! I had a high temp today, which ties in with other signs that I ov'd on wednesday! Hooray! So post-MC I think my cycle is back on track - phew!

I think I am in the 2 week wait! Eeek!

Nice to not have to:

  • guzzle grapefruit juice
  • hold my wee for 4 flippin hours before OPK
  • DTD when we are both ill and knackered

Until next month that is... or hopefully not!

Grin
Teds77 · 19/11/2010 11:24

GetDown glad you are grapefruit-free and that you puzzled out the ov-ing. Just got the bloomin 2WW now grrr...

Just trying to catch up! Congrats to our latest graduate, hope this means we're in for a bumper ride!

How are the other ladies at the front? QOTCW just posted on your other thread - do hope you get an answer soon. Valbona any further grumpiness news/symptoms? Morayrose does it still seem like AF on way? CMD83 any more symptoms for you? level sorry to hear that you've been trying so long, have my fingers crossed for next few days x.

And button hope you get what works best for you and your DH - sending you lots of MN ((((hugs)))) for next week.

Esk am glad you have a date and hope you manage secret SWI over the weekend Blush

queenrollo when is the grand vintage wedding dress wedding day? Outfit sounds lovely.

Oooh and a welcome to mslk and another other newbies that I might have missed.

KLou111 · 19/11/2010 11:46

Good luck to everyone on the 2ww and hello to our new passengers.

Hoping this is a 'bump'-er bus geddit?????

We're doing well so far, here's to many more BFP's!!!!!

100years · 19/11/2010 13:34

CMD83 you are feeling exactly the same as me!! Felt weird in my stomach/icky the past 2 days and now my boobs have started aching. I too am only a few DPO. I keep willing on my stomach eg, if there is a little X** in there please make it safely!! I think I'm going crazy!

**X is the code word me and OH have for the future baby

Keeping everything but my legs crossed Shock 2WW madness

OP posts:
CMD83 · 19/11/2010 13:46

100 So confusing!! I am scared to be hopeful in case i end up with a BFN ! Can't describe my lower stomach not painful just aware that it's there IYKWIM? still feeling sickish . I agree with you positive thinking and all that lol.

level · 19/11/2010 13:49

Thanks all for the lovely welcome. I've got the feeling it's not going to be this month. I could be wrong, but you know when you feel like you know?...

100years · 19/11/2010 14:01

Yeah CMD, it's all confusing and scary, I had nausea last month before my period and we hadn't started trying in time to have been caught so weird, and the month before was nauseous when I had my period, so I can't even think well this is all different this month!

Level, well we are all keeping stuff crossed for all of us on the bus.

KLou111 · 19/11/2010 17:42

Found this link as been symptom spotting looking for reasons for my belly rumbling all the bloody time and can't stop farting lol!!

Found a symptom link here

Have a look, you know you want to!

ravenlocks · 19/11/2010 18:23

Happy weekend everyone!

I think I counted 40 on our bus so far, we need a double decker I think.

So statistically how many BFPs are we due?

KLou111 · 19/11/2010 18:41

QOTCW have you tested yet??

valbona · 19/11/2010 19:11

congratulations to the BFPs! and, er, yikes - looks like I'm nearly at the front of the bus ...

symptom-spotting: could swear my boobs are bigger. have only just stopped BF-ing and they were tiny and now, well, not-so-tiny.

fingers crossed for QOTCW and busy weekends to those of you who are in The Zone Grin

Gobolino · 19/11/2010 19:32

Helloooo,
Just popping on to say good luck to those testing this week - not my turn for a while so I'm getting excited for everyone else!

I've been having weird cramps the last couple of days too, feel just like period cramps but I've still got 11 days till it's due. Odd. Think it's wishful thinking to be honest. Confused

sillybillymummy · 19/11/2010 20:03

Forgive me for being dim - how do you ladies take your temp? Do you have to stick something up somewhere? Or will a baby ear thermometer do the job? I really don't know

GetDownYouWillFall · 19/11/2010 20:28

no sillybilly you can just take your temp in your mouth!! Best to get a proper BBT one that reads to 2 decimal places for extra accuracy. Also so you don't have to shove something in your mouth that may have been in someone's ear!

Waves to gobolino - our AFs are due on the same day, so we may be testing together!

BabsH · 19/11/2010 20:30

Evening all,

I've started sympton spotting again, driving my DH daft but its only for the next ten days at least!!! Got strange stomach cramps too, my boobs feel a little heavy, but I think its just me being very aware of my body for the first time!!

Hi Silly, I've been using a normal thermometer under my tounge in the mornings, not the other method!!!!

Good luck testers, let us know how you get on!!!

MrsP81 · 19/11/2010 21:38

Lots of testers coming up in the next week, woo hoo! Good luck to you all.

My body doesn't seem to be playing the game this month, where is my egg?!

Have a lovely weekend ladies.

queenrollo · 19/11/2010 21:47

teds we've booked for 26th February! now just need to sort invites and find somewhere for a meal afterwards. I'm going to be a wife, I feel all giddy about it. It really does mean a lot to me to be his wife and not just his 'partner'.......

CD 10 here and (tmi) my cervix is very high, very soft and definitely open. Clear CM but not EW......? too early for OV i think but then my cycles have been so unpredictable i just don't know.......finding it hard to SWI more than once a week.....

Good luck to all testers!

GetDownYouWillFall · 20/11/2010 08:53

Hope your egg turns up soon MrsP81! What CD are you on?
valbona hope you get a BFP!
queenrollo sounds like you are entering the fertile window, so I would just go for it!

I am feeling a bit confused as I got a fairly low temp this morning, despite thinking that ov happened on wednesday Confused

I had two positive OPKs on tues and wed, EWCM in the 4 days leading up to wed, ov. pain on wed evening - all the signs basically. But why no temp shift? Or maybe I just need to wait a few more days? I did sleep well last night so maybe that's masking the shift (I normally wake up a few times in the night)... I just don;t know Confused

Arrgghh this whole business is so frustrating!

Here's my chart
