DH and I have been TTC for 9 months. I've gotten used to the monthly ritual of testing and getting a resounding negative, only for AF to show up the following day. AF was due yesterday so I did an internet cheapy test this morning, more to goad AF than anything else.

Faint line.

Promptly had coronary and thought 'must be a mistake, line is v faint, I can't be pregnant, I'll buy a fancy test today and see what that says before I get excited'. Not really had any symptoms other than the usual PMS type things - sore boobs, overly emotional and so on. (I have had the odd nauseous moment, but have been rationalising that in the usual way - not eaten enough, eaten too much, tired, too hot etc etc). Not mentioned anything to DH yet.

Fancy test is currently sitting in my handbag, waiting for me to pee on it. I can't bring myself to do it while at work, but can't concentrate on anything else.

Not sure what I'm looking for really, other than to offload. Does it matter if the line is faint? Does that mean the result is doubtful, or what?

Am bursting on a wee as well.

Thanks everyone! Am a little shocked. Ok, a lot shocked. Thanks also for making me do the other test - would have dithered about it all afternoon otherwise.

Will tell DH tonight - plan to tell him I have a present for him, and give him a urine stained piece of plastic. He'll be delighted! Grin

Best of luck to those of you TTC, I hope it's catching xx

Will you come back tomorrow and let us have his reaction? I'm so excited for you and more than a little bit Envy !

SerenaJoy · 12/10/2010 14:06

Of course, although I suspect his reaction will consist mainly of noises that are difficult to represent in English.

But I'll do my best! Grin

Oh wow! Congratulations!!!!! Let's hope it is catching! Can I be nosy and ask what your symptoms were?
Can't wait to find out what your OH says!

cep · 12/10/2010 15:32

on the same line of things have tried 4 internet tests all negative tried tesco's own thins morning a faint line. has anyone else used the tesco own brand?? it states doesn't matter if line lighter than the test line but after 4 negatives really nervous to believe it. (i was supposed to leave it a week but couldn't wait.)

SerenaJoy · 12/10/2010 15:40

I can't wait either Hedge - I'm clock-watching like nothing on earth! Symptoms are:

  • Sore boobs (but no worse than the pre-period sore boobs I've been noticing since starting TTC - funny how you start paying attention to things like that!)
  • Bit of nausea
  • Bloated tummy
  • Feeling quite emotional (which I'd put down to PMS).

Oh cep - how exciting! As everyone proved to me this morning, a line is a line, so congratulations! I used internet cheapy this morning, then bought the clearblue digital one, never tried tesco's own, but my sis did I think, and she just had her first baby on Sunday. Smile

thanks Serenajoy and congratulations to you too.

I don't seem to have any symptoms though apart from my funny bleed the other week. With #1 i had loads of trapped wind (sorry if tmi) and that was really the only symptom i had then but i haven't even had that.

kingbeat23 · 12/10/2010 15:57

Serena - my 1st time to well up with tears of joy on MN am so pleased for, makes a change to all the doom and gloom relationship threads that are popping up at the mo!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Grin

kat2504 · 12/10/2010 17:15

Wow! Congratulations!!
Doesn't say much for the so-called ultra sensitive cheapy tests that they only come up with a faint line when CB says 2-3 weeks! But what brilliant news for you!!

MrsP81 · 12/10/2010 19:20

Yay, many congratulations to you! Grin

monkeyfacegrace · 12/10/2010 19:38
