Getdown Grin what absolutely wonderful news.
I'm still thinking about what to do. Had a good night's sleep and don't feel so wretched and down as a result. I've been so frustrated by my odd cycles that i feel like i shouldn't be wasting my time by not trying this month. I certainly can't go back on the pill and undo the last 10 months of trying to get my body back to normal. I think i'm just going to let nature take it's course. If i get pregnant i do and if i don't then well.....i'll cry....but i'll get over it.
The dogs are the biggest stress for me and in all likelihood we won't have them much longer. One probably won't see Christmas and we think the other one will go downhill rapidly without his companion.Sad

GetDownYouWillFall · 19/10/2010 17:04

Sorry about your dogs queenrollo Sad we have a dog too, and she is totally part of the family. We will all be devastated when she goes. She has really big brown eyes, and always comes and puts her chin on your lap if you are feeling down.

Sounds like a plan re. just letting nature take its course.... No, I wouldn't go back on the pill, takes ages for hormones to settle again. Just try and take all the stress out of TTC if you can.

emmylou30 · 19/10/2010 17:11

Fab new getdown bet you're super excited :)

Eskarina · 19/10/2010 17:18

Wow Getdown congratulations! It's lovely news to come home to. It is great to have "virtual" friends to get excited for, and I'm glad you can share it with us Grin
Fingers crossed for lots more BFPs on this thread soon.

queenrollo I'm sorry about your dogs. We have a cat, used to have 2 and were so upset when she disappeared, never to return. I got jumpy about the remaining one going out for months afterwards.

I too have a secret stash of ebay cheapie tests in my bedside table. Only 10, but it's enough that I think "well I could just try, it won't hurt..." That's why they're in the bedroom, not the bathroom so that I can talk some sense into myself before I get them out! As I'm only about 5dpo (assuming I did O) it's a little premature. We're going to Paris for half term next week, back late saturday night,so I'm going to try to hold out until the Sunday. AF is due next weds/thurs. What's the french for "I need a pregnancy test and a ramekin to pee in"? Grin

KnitterNotTwitter · 19/10/2010 17:40

Well my spotting is definitely now my AF.

Gutted...

And surprised - that is a 25 day cycle according to my magic spreadsheet. I used to be a reliable 30 day cycle girl but last one was 28 and this on is 25. Any idea what is going on?

Still I get another crack at this bus so I'll snuggle down at the bottom of the list between inbetweener and choco:

Knitter sorry AF has got you, but glad you're hanging around. I've no idea why your cycle is playing you up so much - I've never had very regular cycles but I would say that if yours keep getting shorter then it might be worth consulting a GP.

kat2504 · 19/10/2010 18:21

getdown Congratulations! Am very excited for you, here's hoping the next nine months go very smoothly for you.

Knitter sorry to hear AF got you. My cycles aren't as predictable as they used to be pre mc. I used to be 26 days on the dot. But 25 is still within the normal range so I wouldn't be too concerned. On the bright side, a shorter cycle means your next swi opportunity will come around sooner!

LadyGoneGaga · 19/10/2010 19:04

Sorry about the wicth, Knitter. Join me at the back - second time lucky, eh?! Your hormones are prob still settling post-mc. at least you get more go's? Hope mine go a bit shorter as they'd gone up to 35 dayers pre-mc.

goingforfour · 19/10/2010 19:12

Hi everyone, this is my first ever post on any website but have been reading your updates for past couple of days and thought maybe I should hop on!

I think my stats are:
TTC#4 cycle 1 UCL 28ish AF due 26/27th Oct.

Please could someone add me on to the list,
Thank you. :)

MrsP81 · 19/10/2010 19:18

Yay, congratulations getdown!!! Fab news.

Sorry to hear that AF got you knitter.

Our SWI week looks like it might be going down the drain, I seem to have picked up another stoopid cold. Grrrrrr.

Scottygirl10 · 19/10/2010 20:36

Hello all, congratulations getdown! :) And sorry to hear AF showed her ugly mug knitter :(. Thought I'd share my TTC story thus far...

August this year first month of TTC, tho no obsessive charting of Ovulation dates etc...no no that was all to come ;)

No cigar August, however was over the moon to discover i had a BFP in september :) happiness Short lived however as sadly miscarried very early on. More gutted than I ever imagined I could be, first pregnancy and all.

So here I am on this happy little bus praying for another glorius line on (yet another) pt ;) I've added my stats alrady but think I got them wrong, so if some kind mummy to be could add my accurate stats to the list...

TTC#1 Cycle3 UCL30 AF due 26/27th October (roughly as hard to predict due to mc)

Now I'm away to run up the stairs for the boob test! ;)

Teds77 · 19/10/2010 20:47

Oh Knitter sorry to hear your news Sad but glad you are sticking around on the bus.

My cycles were always pretty reliably 30 days (on and off contraception) until earlier this year when they suddenly went down to 26 days for about six months. I now seem to be about 27 days. Doesn't really help you (sorry!) but I guess sometimes things don't seem to make much sense and agree with kat, that shorter cycles mean less time between SWI Grin

queenrollo sorry to hear about your dogs. Our cats (Noel and Liam - DH is massive Oasis fan so I thought it best to use up the names on the kitties) are my fur babies and I'd be heartbroken if we lost them Sad

I think letting nature take its course is a good plan. We delayed ttc for a year for a variety of reasons and I do regret that a bit, especially as I didn't fall pg instantly - though I realise this is a bit naive Blush

Finally - welcome goingforfour Smile and MrsP81 am sending some lemsip supplies your way...

fledtoscotland · 19/10/2010 20:48

Sorry AF got you Knitter. Save me a seat on the August bus as I suspect I will be meeting you there at the weekend :(

Welcome to Goingforfour - have added you onto the list

anyway, I don't feel premenstral here today Confused and boobs feel weird (nipples tight and generally a little perkier than normal - BFing DS2 for 15months has ensured everything goes south now Blush - sorry for TMI scottygirl10) am getting random nausea flushes which only last about 10mins a time but its definitly nausea. DH and DS2 have the cold so suspect its that rather than being up the duff.

Brasso4 · 19/10/2010 21:44

Congratulations, GetDown that is great news. No symptoms here, no idea if I have OV'd. I do have a random crack on my nipple - no problems whilst BF but just cracked now!! Could be something but they are not sore like I was with DD. I am also very grumpy.. could be PMT.

Might test at the weekend if no sign of AF but am not confident about it really, my cycles before being PG were longer than 28 days.

queenrollo · 19/10/2010 22:32

Thanks all for kind words about the dogs.....
They are DP's and he's had them ten years but we've only been together 3. They have seen me through some very tough times though and I will miss them both, it's just that before i met DP i'd decided no more dogs as i just find the responsibilty a bit too much.
The older one has defied medical knowledge, and should have been gone last Sept. She has an aggressive cancer amongst other things.....now though she has slowed down considerably in the last few weeks and has big tumours which grew suddenly and the vet has said he can do no more. It's just a waiting game now Sad
I've had a lovely evening at a friend's house.....home now and putting off going to bed as it's not the same when DP is away. He'll be back tomorrow night so there will be some practice SWI going on Blush Grin as I have no symptoms of OV and with being on this herbal stuff I have no idea when i should expect it to happen.

knitter sorry to hear AF got you......

Mylittlebubble · 20/10/2010 06:27

I am going away today until Sunday so thought I would test this morning, you know just in case!!!

Well it was a negative! My Dh is hoping we have done it this month otherwise he has 'just married a grumpy women who he irritates most of the time'!!! (His words)

So I will be back Sunday with good news I hope Hmm

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 20/10/2010 07:41

Yay - fab news getdown and cep !!

Sorry AF got you knitter - I'm another one whose cycles are all over the place since mc, last month I too had an unusually short cycle (26 rather than 29 days with spotting from day 24). Let's hope we both settle back to normal soon! x

Chocoflakes · 20/10/2010 07:43

Aww mylittlebubble there's still time for a BFP, enjoy your days away.

knitter sorry for AF.

queen I understand what you mean about the dogs being a big responsibility, I have a Golden Retriever and he's gorgeous, I hate to think of him going, I still cry sometimes about my dog I grew up with.

Well AF came in full swing this morning, had a little warning last night it was coming. I am so sure that I was pg for at least a week, as my body was so different, and the last 2 days it just felt 'empty' IYKWIM?.
Hey ho, cycle is 28 days on the dot, which is good.

Have a good day everyone

KnitterNotTwitter · 20/10/2010 08:55

Thanks for all the messages. I've rationalised my behaviour this month as being linked to the fact that my ectopic pregnancy would be due now so I was extra obsessive about getting pg - every tweak, twinge and spot was given unnecessary significance.... Sigh.... Also the bad news is that I'm away for the weekend that I'm due to ovulate next so it doesn't bode well for this month... Oh Well...

Just putting our nice new people forfour and Scotty in date order in the stats...Welcome...

Hello all

Can I join you on this very exciting bus journey??

Prob be graduating to the August bus and beyond knowing my luck!!

Here's a bit about me.

Married to a lovely man who I've been with 13 years, am 30 (31 Nov 1st yikes Shock) Came off pill August 25th, and been TTC #1 since then!!

Had my 1st proper AF start (since withdrawel bleed) on 5th October so can't really say my UCL as been on the pill for 13 years. Was 35 day cycle between withdrawel and 1st proper AF.

If we go off so far, my stats are
TTC#1 Cycle 2 UCL ? AF due 8 Nov (if 35 days)

Really excited about this new step in our lives. Haven't told anyone that we're trying as don't want the 'are you pregnant yet?' questions all the time!!

However, my hubby and the male half of our best friends were out at the end of August and they told each other that we both were trying soon!! And they say us women gossip!!! Bit of a coincidence, so at least I kinda have someone to talk to and go through this with. She came off the pill a couple off weeks ago, so be nice if we have kids together :)

Done a couple of tests, all BFN. Struggling with knowing when am ovulating as FF says 18-22 Oct and Mumsnet says 22-26th Oct. But obviously BD-ing as much as humanly possible so not really that concerned as it should catch if it is going to!

So nice to read that a couple of you have had BFP's, hope it's my turn soon (very selfish I know Wink but I know you're all thinking the same).

Good luck all xxxxx
