Half a line ...

I POAS this morning and after a minute or so a pink line appeared but it didn't go all the way across the width of the stick. It just goes half way across.

The control line is there and strong; but this other line is a bit odd. I'm guessing it's just a faulty test. I'm on CD36, have had old blood spotting on CD24, 25, 33 and 34.

I've been TTC for 2 years; I'd love a BFP.

Anyone else had half a line?

Time to buy another test... not sure if it's faulty or if somehow you didn't pee for long enough to get the whole test damp.

I'll be keeping my finger crossed.

fingers crossed, some bfp can be faint so mabe its a similar type of result

fingers, not finger - so sorry, sounds like I wasn't being very supportive just crossing the one.

I dipped the stick so don't think it could be not enough wee. I feel sure it's just a faulty test - it's an internet cheapie so somehow faulty seems likely.

I've got some clearblue digitals but am scared to wee on them now for fear of the disappointment .

I'm going to put it off for a few more days. Then if AF comes, I'll know what's going on. I'd so love to be up the pole.

I got half a line when pregnant with DS - like you, the control line was strong, but the preg line only went halfway across. Figured logically it meant was positive as surely it wouldn't show up at all otherwise, but got DH to drive us to Boots quickly before it shut to buy another test! And was indeed positive. Hope you are too!

Goodness you have the patience of a saint having half a positive line and not immediately retesting! I know I would! Let us know as soon as you do! (Sounds like it's very likely to be positive - I agree with rollercoaster - surely nothing would show in that window if there was nothing going on?

daisydotandgertie · 11/07/2010 14:40

I'm not sure if I have the patience of a saint or am barking mad.

Rollercoaster that makes me feel quite hopeful. Thank you. My DH has the same logic; a line within the time frame in the place it's meant to be can't just appear by itself.

Trouble is I'm 41 and I've had a few disappointments and chemical pregnancies over the past 2 years. I also have PCOS and a ginormous fibroid so had completely given up all hope of pregnancy and decided I'd just have to be happy being a god-mother to many and an auntie to some.

I'm too scared of disappointment to get my hopes up. Pathetic girl that I am.

was it a sainsbury's one?
I got a half line on one, and it was negative, sorry When I started looking into it, seemed they are notorious for it

Still no sign of AF - that's got to be good.

Half a bloody line. You couldn't make it up. I'm relieved that at least someone else has had one though .

You are still holding out? Wow. It sounds like you have been through a hell of a lot what with fibroids, PCOS etc, but none of those things make it totally impossible. Are you enjoying this period of not knowing, because there is in fact a glimmer of hope that you don't want to be dashed if another test was negative? If so, I totally understand and would probably want to do the same thing. You sound like a very strong woman. Ah yes you did say you weren't going to use your digital tests for fear of disappointment. Goodness, this is exciting!

Oh yes. I'm still holding out. CD38 now; UCL av of 29.8. But my longest normal cycle to date has been 44 days.

beach - you are so right. It is lovely to unexpectedly have a little bit of hope for a while and I'd far rather AF reared her ugly head than see another BFN. At least at the moment I don't know I'm not up the pole.

I've also searched my brain for ignored symptoms apart from the spotting; I've had random pains in my boobs, they're increasingly veiny and I've had random period type cramps. I think I'm also weeing more frequently than usual. I've also had horribly swollen ankles for the past couple of weeks and tiredness. The ankles and tiredness I've put down to a constant stream of house-guests and hosting a v big, tense, 3 day family get together over the past 4 weeks.

And yesterday, a friend was telling me about a mutual friend who got stuck in traffic in the snow at the beginning of the year and after about 3 hours her husband packed thermos, sandwiches, coat and blanket and walked 3 miles to rescue her and I cried. What's that all about? It's certainly not normal .

Daisy, you sound totally pregnant to me! I can't wait for the result! I'm really rooting for you. How long do we have to wait now?!

Report
daisydotandgertie · 12/07/2010 15:57

If only I knew!

I reckon I should hold out until my longest known normal cycle which was 44 days. So Sunday which will be CD44.

Not sure if I can though . It's a very long time to wait. I am away for work on Thursday and Friday and I reckon that'll be the time AF shows herself. It'll be the most inconvenient possible time to deal with a period so that alone is bound to make her appear.

No sign today so far though.

Head in the sand?

You're sure you'd feel different to what?! Some people don't know they're pregnant until they're 5 or 6 months in... Arrrrgggggghhhhhhhh I WANT TO KNOW! But I know you're enjoying this blissful state of unknowingness so I will try to relax. Don't listen to me. I'm just in awe of your restraint. And my fingers are aching from being crossed for so long

Also very curious to know whether daisy is 'up the pole' as it were!!

Report
daisydotandgertie · 15/07/2010 10:18

Still nothing. No stick weeing, no AF. To distract myself I've been out looking for another puppy.

If nothing's happened by the time I get back from my 2 days working away (it's sure to; I will be in a boat and away from a loo for a loooong time) I will be weeing on a stick immediately.

Fingers are so crossed they've gone blue .

Daisy it sounds like you need to uncross your fingers before they drop off! You're going to need them soon (hopefully for POAS not the other thing).

Besides I think it's safe to say we've all got our fingers crossed enough for you .
