have a look at the Owners Direct website. They have some apartments in London. We've used them a few times before for holidays in Spain and they have been great. HTH

Check out this lot

Or try a house swap.We did one with Countess Dracula to London. It was brill and saves a fortune of course.Tonnes of peopel would want to go to E'burgh.

I'm converted to house swaps now.

We have stayed here twice (house in top pic). Fantastic location, only slight problem it is up a big hill. We also stayed there with my pil. There are 2 decent sized bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge which dh & I slept on. The bedrooms had 2 double beds but we took ds's ready bed and he slept in that and dd slept in the bed.

nailpolish · 27/03/2008 11:37

Greenwich is fab NP. There is a big park for the children to play. They have boats in the summer months. The National Maritime Museum is there. It's not far to the DLR. Cutty Sark. The Royal Naval College.

You can take a boat trip on the Thames passing down to Westminster.

Plenty of restaurants/take aways/small cafe in the park. If you take your mum you and dh can have a fun night out.

There is Pizza Express, McDonalds (!), a M & S simply food etc.

If you look on my link, the bloke that owns the property has put loads of information about Greenwich on there. Also if you do decide to book through him, if you tell him your my mate he should give you 10% discount.

moondog · 27/03/2008 11:49

I thought you went for a flat in the end NP?
Whereabouts in E'burgh aRE YOU?

Fimbo · 27/03/2008 11:49

Marina will be able to big up Greenwich more I think!

nailpolish · 27/03/2008 11:50

wow that sounds ace!
i LOVE london and dh is starting to panic that if we holiday there ill start pestering him aobut moving there...

i want to take mum but im worried she thinks im using her (which of course i would be for that night out )

i shall definitely run this past dh

thanks fimbo

Oh. Have fond memories of shagging with drunked Irish bf near zebras circa 1986.

Fimbo · 27/03/2008 11:53

I would move to Greenwich in a heartbeat, but I don't think the state schools are that great, but the houses, oh god the property porn in unbelievable. Jools Holland lives there.

nailpolish · 27/03/2008 11:54

the zebras! i shall think of you as i pass them by
