Anyone with curaleaf?

I’ve an appointment later in the month.
Looking for something else to work alongside drugs for cancer pain and anxiety. Actually I just want to zone out ( without being stoned!)

I'm with Integro. I get flowers to vape and oils. Indica and Sativa, one works best for pain and one better for sleep but I can never remember which is which! The prescribing GP and multidisciplinary team will decide which strains are best for your needs, there's so many! I get the munchies and do feel a bit high but it does kill the pain and I sleep well.

TheAutumnCrow · 11/06/2025 05:39

I’m interested in this so thanks for the info 🙂

Enigma53 · 11/06/2025 15:23

@CherryRipe1 thanks 😊
I will wait and see what they say.
What pain does it help with?
I’ve never vaped in my life. First time for everything!

I've got pain from various conditions, spondylosis, hyper mobility, Sjogrens, nerve pain and it helps with that. I've read posts from people with a wide range of pain conditions and medical marijuana has helped them.

EzioAuditoredaFirenze · 12/06/2025 07:20

Interested in hearing more when you have your appointment. My DH brought me a leaflet home from chemist but I haven't decided what to do yet.

I'm pretty anti drugs but I'm in so much all of the time I am considering it. I will try anything to take the pain away.... (I say anything but my drug takings would never go beyond marijuana and other prescription pain relief obviously, haha).

Same. I hardly used to take paracetamol, my things have changed!
I will be interested too. I’m a bit apprehensive because I want to try something, yet I’m pretty sensitive to medication. so it would have to be a low dose of something 🤞

The THC content of what I am on is 27% and I'm a bit like you, a Lily Lightweight with drugs so I use it sparingly. The oils can take longer to hit and be accumulative so you can think it's not working then suddenly, bam!, you're in a time slip with the munchies. Was advised to get CBD oil to counteract the THC if I overdo it, although it is already mixed with CBD. The GP or nurse will advise the dosage of your oil or vape. My nurse is lovely, an absolute scream & very knowledgeable. The vapes work quickly but unfortunately make me cough like hell. I found vaping easier to get the dosage right.

Enigma53 · 12/06/2025 12:03

@CherryRipe1 yes I was going to ask about how they manage to get the dosage right. I’m guessing start low and work your way up?

Never vaped in my life, so as another Lily Lightweight, I will be coughing my butt off too!

I have this hemp balm and am thinking of adding a few drops of my oil ( which I acquired elsewhere) to the balm to see if that makes the balm stronger. Probably not!

CherryRipe1 · 12/06/2025 14:12

Yes, they should tell you depending on your condition and pain etc. I got some jewellers scales for the flowers. I think I used .4 mg per vape & topped up as necessary. It is trial and error really but yes, starting low is best. With oils you get a syringe to dose it sublingually usually am and pm. Much hilarity with it arriving by post & weighing out the flowers. I was a bit worried about the neighbours & the stink but police can't touch you with a prescription. Have a look at medbud for info on all the UK prescribing clinics and strains of medical marijuana. Mind-blowing. I don't know much about hemp oil but it's the same family I believe without the high but I expect it has good things in it. It's the terpenes in cannabis that acts on pain. I've read stuff too that thc/terpenes fight cancer but not sure if that's really true.

Enigma53 · 12/06/2025 16:24

@CherryRipe1 Had to chuckle, as the whole thing sounds like some illegal happening, in a basement flat somewhere away from prying neighbours and the feds! 🤣

Okay, this could well be my new “project” as I’m off sick at present. Carefully weighing flowers with jewellers scales as I try not to overdose on oil, which I try to administer sublingually! All whilst trying to accurately quarter my tiny “ sweet” 🤣

Wonder if it will help with menopause symptoms and chemo side effects? 🤔

OP posts:
CherryRipe1 · 12/06/2025 19:29

Haha! Very nefarious. It's actually only illegal to smoke medical m as a joint. Sorry you are going through chemo, the GP or nurse can probably advise on if it might help with the side effects of chemo & menopause.

I’m under the pain clinic but never been offered any of this. I’m desperate due to chronic pain following botched surgery

Sounds awful, poor you.
Well, you could give one of these clinics a go? Not too much to lose. What pain relief are you currently taking?

I use this vape too. It's been a good little vape for starting out with. Been a medical patient for a few months.

I think I will tou know. I’ve tried it all amytriptaline, nortriptaline, gabapentin cocodamol 30’s, duloxotine. They all work for a while then I get used to them and they up the dose then can’t up it any more and have to come off them and try another. Not to mention the side effects.

thanks for all the information people have put on here. Wish you all luck

Update
I had my appointment on Friday. Was interesting! They can offer me CBD and THC oil as a starter. Low dose to begin with. The cost worries me as I’m off sick with no end to treatment in sight. But, as you mention @babasaclover realistically we just get stuck on the “drug merry go round” and that can’t be great either?

It was £50 for a 30 min detailed consultation. I will find out the cost for the products this week.

Hi @Enigma53 , we spoke on another thread.. hope you are just about ok.

I'm stage 4 and reached the point where my anxiety is causing symptoms very similar to a recurrence, and also I struggle to eat/have little appetite and have lost so much weight (haha, funny, I would have been pleased about this at one time 🙄

I have an appointment with Curaleaf for July and I'm worried a) I can't do Zoom very well (I'm reasonably techy but my laptops have no webcams) so it will have to be on my phone and who knows how that will go b) not sure what the appointment will be about?

I also don't know ANYthing about cannabis whatsoever, and won't be able to vape it, can you just neck down the oil version (I jest, slightly) or do I have to (shudder) bake brownies??!

Snippit · 23/06/2025 01:09

I’m with Curaleaf, have been for nearly a year now. I have Indica liquid at night, a really low dose as I’m a lightweight. A 30ml bottle costs £100, this easily lasts me a month. I’m just starting on another daytime strain called Sativa, again on a really low dose, I can’t find the cost for this one currently. I use it for my M.S pain, the nighttime one has been wonderful for pain relief and better sleep. The daytime Sativa helps to give me a better cognitive function, it helps give me a little bit more clarity and get up and go.

I wouldn’t be without it, absolutely life changing. It’s about bloody time that the NHS got this sorted. Didn’t Matt Hancock once make an announcement that it would be made available?? Where the bloody hell is it, this product makes my life that much more bearable 🤗
