Well I have say pen so far so good! I’ve used tens a lot but because of position it’s quite uncomfortable any length of time but pen has meant with ice pack I’ve managed no drugs first afternoon in about 5 weeks.

Evening all!

Ahh Spooky, I love your reprobates too. Gentle hugs to Ivy (and you too)

This is my baby boy. He's been my saviour too. Currently curled up at my feet. I'm lying on my bed as everything is so tiring and the wind and rain is awful outside. It is sooo cold!!

@RainbowZebraWarrior beautiful cat! Mine are sulking after a dose of Dentisept each.

@Akire that's amazing about the TENS pen and ice and no drugs. 🌟

Daimyum · 21/11/2021 18:19

Good about the pain pen 😁

Daimyum · 21/11/2021 18:20

That was meant to be a smiley face😂

Akire · 21/11/2021 18:21

I’m still in shock! No idea how works different to tens with such short burst compared to an hour of tens but even if last one days was well worth it

BackInBits · 21/11/2021 19:01

@Akire which pen did you get?

Akire · 21/11/2021 19:04

The one that was posted up, slightly more expensive as battery not having to click it but imagine it works the same

@Akire that's great about the pen! I've never heard of that before. Might ask my consultant about it on Tuesday when I see him.

I felt better today - took my dog (no cat, I'm afraid!) for a walk very early. It was beautiful. I think movement helps me with my pain. It's staying still which kills me. That said, it was heaven to get back in the car and put my hot water bottle on my lower back!

I also managed to get in a 2 hour nap this afternoon. I'm so tired from not being able to sleep at night, I really needed it.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 21/11/2021 22:06

Think I may need to purchase one of those pens @Akire

Omg @RainbowZebraWarrior he is gorgeous!! Some people really underestimate just how much comfort cats can bring. Betsy is an awkward sod and hates being touched but Ivy is just incredible. She is the most loving cat I have ever known.

Akire · 21/11/2021 22:38

Least had half decent day always helps have space to catch your breath. Plus booked a haircut on line for tomorrow. Gave myself two lockdown haircuts so it’s hardly looking it’s best. It costs arm and leg but not Many are accessible so either step to get in or step to till or sinks. Must have been good 2y so has to be done. no doubt they look horrified when I go in which is always fun when they not used to a disabled person. They matter “er please take a seat then realise I already have one and scuttling off looking embarrassed”

Happy Monday all hope the week got off to a good start. Hair is done! Although hairdressers usually go to town and blow dry it in unrealistic unobtainable style. I’m luckily if manage wash it once month so although curls looks lovely never going happen again!

Good force myself to do something nice (and essential) Managed cope so far no drugs did zap myself before and after. Still can’t believe works so well Grin

HerRoyalWitchyness · 22/11/2021 14:12

@Akire glad you managed to get your hair done. With me being autistic I don't trust anyone other than my mum to cut my hair!

I didnt tell you all, I finally met the lovely guy I've been chatting to and he's just as lovely IRL.
Grin I was nervous but I didn't need to be. He's not bothered that I'm disabled and he kept telling me how beautiful I am and how he's so grateful I gave him a chance Grin

Akire · 22/11/2021 14:27

He sounds lovely let’s hope he continues to be so or he have all of us to contend with! I still find hairdressers stressful don't understand what they say. Just have trust them hope for best. Had hair wash and massage for 10m that’s longest human touch I’ve had for years!

Booked booster but worried I’d have dates wrong? Anyone else has theirs? The computer let me Book for day 182 but threads on people saying have to leave 182 days. So do I need extra day? Know I’mg my like have spend Xmas alone because next available slot be in the new year!

OP posts:
HerRoyalWitchyness · 22/11/2021 15:06

I'm sure that will be fine @Akire, surely they wouldn't have let you book if you weren't allowed to. Mines booked for tomorrow afternoon.

Akire · 22/11/2021 15:10

You would think computer only lets you book but other threads saying people turned away for one day early. So much for save Xmas have jab crap. If they have any signs saying not before x date let me Know! Heard guy on radio saying long as least 5m not issue and should be flexible. It’s not like it runs out on certain day.

BackInBits · 22/11/2021 16:56

@Akire glad you got the haircut and the pen seems so good. Strongly considering investing in one (pen not haircut). I had my booster. It was definitely more unpleasant in terms of the 24 hours that followed than the first two, but that might have more to do with the fact that I had a glass of wine that evening.

@HerRoyalWitchyness he sounds great. Delighted for you!

I always cut my own hair. I like how it turns out. Hair tied up, head upside down and snip.

Not having too bad a pain day again.

Akire · 22/11/2021 17:02

Had banging headache when I got home that pen didn’t work on for some reason. Had 20min panic trying find my proper tens which did work. Not give everyone false hope maybe works better on some pain than others. But day 2 no drugs just hot water bottle ice blocks and pen.

Where do you sue pen @Doobydoo think it was you who recommended

I was ill 24h first jab sore arm second but think this is different drug so will stock up on snacks and resources before hand. Mind you not as if need much practise to laying in bed feeling awful. I should have my masters by now

Having a horrendous workday. Although I have finished it off by teaching my Eastern European assistant how to say Fuck off in a proper Yorkshire accent so that cheered of us both up a bit 😂😂

Probs got another 2 hours to go before I can switch it off. Pass the gin!

Akire · 22/11/2021 17:54

Catch @SpookyScarySkeletons Gin keep going with the work!

I hope you managed to get through the day yesterday @SpookyScarySkeletons ?

Big day for me - neurosurgeon this evening. Anyone know what I should expect from this appt?

Akire · 23/11/2021 09:47

Oh that sounds nerve racking I really hope it’s all positive for you. Been brave and emailed dentist got dodgy tooth but it’s not actually hurting (result!) but think dead inside. I’ve been weighing up the head in sand approach and wait see how long it will last. But it’s not going be a happy enduring either way. Most likely have to come
Out. If I go away for Xmas odds are then boom it will kick off.

Gosh, PIP assessment just finished. 1 hour 40 mins. I think the cat is as shattered as I am. He stayed the whole time to support me though which was lovely. And also frustrating at times as he sits on my paperwork, as you can see!

@ndo4000 no advice in afraid, but sending support and hope for a good outcome for you tonight.

Witchyness ahh he sounds lovely!

Bloody hell over the phone? Or in person?
I was so frustrated with mine as they asked me everything that had already put on the form this was few years back in my home. I was like have you not read the forms? Because I have speech problems I had to write out slowly everything that I had already said while she had the page already on her lap!

Good thing is that doesn’t sound like they made mind up in 15min and where out of there. Reply hope you get what you deserve.
