I'm almost finished Christmas shopping. Just need to sort some money out for my brothers and I told my mum ill pay some towards the Christmas Dinner. She asked for that to be her present. She doesn't know I've also got her some actual presents. She does so much for me she deserves them.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 14/11/2021 12:15

Oh no, the balance and dizziness are awful arent they! I've had vestibular neuronitis for the last 8 years or so and when it comes on it literally feels like you have fallen sideways off your chair.

The only blessing from my numb fingers is that I don't feel the fingerprick tests as much 😂

Daimyum · 14/11/2021 19:54

Does vestibular neuronitis feel like you're falling?

Daimyum · 14/11/2021 20:00

Like vertigo.. But not all day long. Like sudden feeling of when been swung around or something

SpookyScarySkeletons · 14/11/2021 20:05

Yep it does. Basically I will be sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I gasp and grab the table because it feels like I have fallen to my left hand side. Then I have about 4 weeks of dizziness and sickness. It's only about 3-4 times a year for me and I know my vestibular recovery exercises which get rid of it quicker than medication.

I had repeated bouts of labyrinthitis in my early 20s, eventually referred to ENT who did an MRI and diagnosed the neuronitis.

Daimyum · 14/11/2021 20:25

I think I've been miss diagnosed as having anxiety in the past then.. Maybe

Worrysaboutalot · 16/11/2021 05:24

I have been up since 4am with leg pain! I need to sleep, I have so much to do later today.

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 05:48

Snap..
Up most of the night with something or other. It's a literal pain. Stay in bed, at least you'll get some sort of rest that way (that's what I do). Hot water bottle and open window so not too hot is the other. Sounds crazy as have hot flushes, but good for pain and kind of soothing

HerRoyalWitchyness · 16/11/2021 07:09

Same here. Been up since 3. Woke for a wee and then was tossing and turning due to pain and couldn't get back off. I'm exhausted

SpookyScarySkeletons · 16/11/2021 07:24

4.30 for me! Woke up and the nerve pain was so bad I just couldn't stay still. Eyes are like pissholes in the snow.

Sending lots of virtual coffee BrewBrewBrew to get us through the day.

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 07:37

Going to have a large gingerbread latte in costa after.. I deserve it 🤣

I miss gingerbread lattes! Too high in sugar for me though.

I've got some lovely beanies mocha coffee that's 2 calories per cup so I will make myself one of those shortly!

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 11:40

Oh no. You must be diabetic yes. Like to have one around this time of year. Makes me feel christmassy, and like had a treat

SpookyScarySkeletons · 16/11/2021 11:45

Unfortunately yes ☹️ I'm trying to go diet controlled and there are so many things I miss! Warm crusty bread, pastry, chip shop chips, gingerbread lattes...

I let the kids order a greggs for lunch on ubereats at the weekend and you have no idea how much I wanted that ham and cheese baguette 😂😂

Sugars are really high at the moment - possibly linked to covid - so I am having to be very strict.

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 12:22

It's hard. People don't realise. They think it's only sugar but its carbs you stay away from too yes. If you have the sweeteners they make you crave it more too

Akire · 16/11/2021 13:22

I had lay in but only from exhaustion! Loads stomach pain today for no reason just another stupid pain thing. So sitting around hot water bottles and ice packs try distract myself.

So hard around food isn’t it I’ve had give up loads stuff help digestive issues but still have sod it days even though pay price later. Also need lose more weight which is hard. Deliveroo and Uber eats have a lot to answer far!

Ironically after being awake most of the night, I finally fell asleep and slept though my alarm!

  1. I got up, took DD to school.
  2. Came home and did my medication pills boxes for the next two weeks (takes me hours)
  3. Lying down in bed. Trying to ignore my legs and side pain.

Tomorrow will be a better day.

Akire · 16/11/2021 15:59

I spent nearly all my days in bed too. I spent years curled up on sofa with bad back or legs then finally gave in and use bed all the time. Might as well be comfortable instead of just having sofa in living room because that’s the norm. Now I have double bed instead. I live alone so not like anyone else to consider.

See spend half time checking stopwatch for next drug time. Never goes any faster Confused

@Daimyum was it your appointment today? Sorry, I scrolled back, and couldn't see a result as such but just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you. I was sure you said Tuesday.

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 21:30

Hi. Thank you for remembering and asking. Yes, it was today. It is probably ms. There were opaque/ white spots on mri brain. Need more tests asap.. Lumbar puncture, mri body etc. I knew there was something, so not shocked, upset that had to fight for everything, the doctors/nhs have been shocking. Thanks again

Akire · 16/11/2021 21:31

I know what you mean about having push all time it’s crazy. Hopefully you will get an answer to if it is or isn’t. Still shock get head around even if you very much suspected

Daimyum · 16/11/2021 21:35

@Akire Why not have a bed in the living room, it's what works for you yes. Need to be comfortable. One good thing about being single/living alone is that you don't have to worry about disturbing someone else by not sleeping etc, you can just make sure its comfy for you, everything in it's place

Akire · 16/11/2021 21:38

Thanks yes only have small flat so bedroom is really dark tiny window least this is nicer room to spend time. It’s not like I have visitors very often.
