Sorry if it's been done before ladies - but what are we all having for Christmas morning breakfast?

Chez Iklboo we are having pancakes with jam/lemon curd/chocolate spread (not all at once - choice of )

We are having Scrambled eggs with smoked ham on muffins. Can't wait!

ChickensHaveNoTinsel · 21/12/2009 10:57

It will be croissants here, eaten while wrestling toys out of packaging/putting batteries into things. Breakfast is always an informal affair.

BlackYellowRed · 21/12/2009 11:01

Croissants. Maybe egg and soldiers.

TrinityReindeer · 21/12/2009 11:04

kids will munch on chocolate brioche whenever and we will have scrambled eggs on toast whenever

TheHouseofMirth · 21/12/2009 11:05

I don't know how anyone manages an exciting/elegant breakfast with all the present unwrapping/lunch prep that needs to be done. Croissants and eggy bread (star shaped) here plus some bucks fizz.

tulpe · 21/12/2009 11:45

smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and croissants for us with champagne (bucks fizz gives me heart burn!) and fresh coffee.

DCs have Nigella's Christmas Morning Muffins this year too. I tried them out yesterday morning - packed full of cranberries and clementine peel & juice with spices. They are delicious

If you want to make them, you can prep everything the night before then do final mix 'n' pour and then 20 mins in oven OR they freeze beautifully. Defrost at cool room temp overnight then bung em in the oven for 5 mins to warm through.

MrsMattie · 21/12/2009 11:46

Croissants and tea followed by Qality Street and champers!

CherryChristmasEveryone · 21/12/2009 12:48

we have scrambled duck eggs on toast, with croissants and pain au chocolat, drinks will be bucks fizz, orange juice and posh coffee.

claraquack · 21/12/2009 12:51

We may have something really light first thing but then are planning a Christmas brunch on the beach: chorizo in red wine, spanish omelette, manchego cheese with crusty white bread, fresh pineapple and champagne for us. The dd's will probably have cheese sandwiches and chocolate bisuits!

DorotheaPlenticlew · 21/12/2009 13:08

mmm ... the Nigella muffins. I think I have the book they're in, and this could be the year to make the effort.

tulpe · 21/12/2009 14:18

Dorothea - they are delicious You won't regret it! The ones in her Christmas book are nicer than the ones in Feast or Domestic Goddess (can't remember which one of those two they feature in).

Iklboodolphtherednosereindeer · 21/12/2009 14:19

Claraquack: Christmas brunch on the beach

You in Blackpool then?

We always have crackers with a dollop of cream cheese and smoked salmon. Not too heavy, and a definate tradition.

BestLaidPlans · 21/12/2009 14:57

Eggy bread here too, but made with panettone and orangey creme fraiche on top. Though am liking the sound of the muffins...

upahill · 21/12/2009 15:01

Same as every winter morning Oats so simple!! (Syrup flavour of course!)

displayuntiltwelfthnight · 21/12/2009 15:03

we sit on the floor opening pressies and chomping warm rolls with jam, croissants and danish pastries with big mugs of hot chocolate.

muggglewump · 21/12/2009 15:04

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on bagels for DD. Tea and a ciggie as usual for me.
I don't eat breakfast.

upahill · 21/12/2009 15:07

I am amazed at these brekfasts!! I could never eat all the rich food some of you are having before 1 o'clock in the afternoon and that would only if I'd been out on a 5 mile walk at least!! And alchol too. I'd be snoring in my gravy if I had that for brekfast!!

Fair play to you and enjoy!!!

Druidmama · 21/12/2009 15:12

Marmalade and almond muffins here, with a Christmas tea blend from the lovely tea shop in town.

littleshineystar · 21/12/2009 15:14

bacon sandwiches and cups of tea or coffee.

norksinmychristmasstocking · 21/12/2009 15:19

DC have a box of variety cereal ans a carton of juice in their stocking, which they munch through while examining stockings on my bed in the morning.
Then toast croissants and tea while we open all the other presents

claraquack · 21/12/2009 16:18

Iklboo - no St Lucia

MilaMae · 21/12/2009 17:36

Pannetone and latte from a freshly opened tin of Illy for us-the kids hopefully croissants but I suspect a shed load of choc

ilovemydogandmrobama · 21/12/2009 17:46

I love Christmas
