I'm thinking bedroom. But dd somehow ends up in my bed in the early hours and it would go unnoticed I think. I really like the idea of her waking up at a reasonable getting up time and seeing it - but I doubt that's going to happen!

Downstairs in hall, I also had to add a note 'Dear Santa, please leave DD's presents in the hall and her Mummy will take them upstairs, Love DD's Mummy'. She is 5 and wouldn't go to sleep tonight as she was scared of Father Christmas. Think she was getting worried about him wandering round the house ... bless

michaelbooblie · 24/12/2008 22:47

Living room ,because that's where the fireplace is, I'm also far too clumsy to manage skulking around the bedroom quietly. Would be like something from a carry on film !.

misscathcart · 24/12/2008 22:48

[frgin] at wags dd! bless her!

on the outside of dds bedroom - on the handle.

ChasingSquirrels · 24/12/2008 23:09

pillowcase on end of their beds.
ds2 doesn't want FC to come, quite happy for presents but no FC, no not outside the door, no not downstairs. Ah well.

skrimbo · 24/12/2008 23:11

Stockings left on their beds and landing lights set out in back garden, OOH he is in Paris not far away now, hope they LO are all sleeping .

MoMoMoMeeeeryChristmas · 24/12/2008 23:20

bedroom. Unfortunately, DD, I have just discovered, has a very squeaky door! It's bad enough that I play along with a 13 year old as it is, without having to negotiate a squeaky door!

on the coffee table where they left his mince pies and whisky.

santasinmywaistband · 24/12/2008 23:27

Well I put DD to bed with stocking on end of bed, just went in to play santa, and she was cuddling it, just about managed to wrestle it from her and fill and have put it back on the end of her bed.
I think she was trying to met santa

InSearchOfLostKeys · 24/12/2008 23:32

end of beds, just now. Have a funny feeling dd was breathing a bit fast to be really asleep though

lizziebeth · 24/12/2008 23:36

Glad you posted this question. Dh and I been disagreeing all evening about where to put it. It's DD's first xmas where she really understands so never had to think about it before.

He insists it should go at the end of the bed. I'm for all presents being together in the living room so she gets a great big surprise in the morning. Still haven't decided!

notbusta · 24/12/2008 23:37

DS (aged 3) was in floods of tears at bedtime. He's terrified of FC and really frightened by the thought of him coming into the house tonight. He (DS, not FC!) is also tending to wake at about 12.30 wanting a wee - so am worried that if I do put the pillowcase in his room he'll be wanting to open prezzies then.
Think I'm answering my own dilemma - it has to go under the tree doesn't it? Even though it's not traditional...

notbusta · 24/12/2008 23:40

Skrimbo, Landing lights - I like that idea. What do you use? (for future ref, providing DS eventually grows out of santaphobia).

ChestnutsRoastingonanOpenFlier · 24/12/2008 23:46

outside their bedroom doors.
