I don't have any.
On my left my neighoburs have - on the garage roof a metal santa in a sleigh with 3 reindeers, all of which light up. This is surrounded by blue fflashing lights that make it look like there is a police car outside the boys bedroom windown until midnight. They have a snowman on the porch roof along with 3 strings of white lights and round the poles on the porch are multi coloured lights, and on the front a big light up Merry Christmas sign. Round the back they have tree lights and a prjection thing with a big picture of Santa.

To my right we have a 12 foot inflatable snowman on the garage roof, tethered down partly on my side! He is accompanined by a flashing reindeer and a mvoing santa which lights up. Again we have blue flashing lights similar to a police car parked outside. There is then white flashing lights across the fornt of their garage and across their porch and then strung across and tethered to the garage wall on their other side. There is a large inflatable snowglobe type thing with snowmen inside. All their fir trees, bushes and planst are strung with flashing red lights. There is a big santa on the porch roof and a 10 ft high Homer Simpson dressed as santa up there as well.
The neighbours either think I'm a tight fisted Scot who doesn't want to pay for the electric or I'm boring

i have/had a vague intention to put white lights on an xmas tree at the bottom of my drive where you can see it from the lane.
but i cant actually be arsed, so i doubt it will happen.

duckyfuzz · 10/12/2008 17:31

we have none

2 doors down they have a 'great big wormy snaky thing climbing up a tree' according to DT1

janeite · 10/12/2008 20:19

None outside. A few twinkly lights in a tree can look nice, or a wreath - but anything else looks horrible imho.

And I must admit that when we drove past the house with the giant inflatable snowman and saw that it had burst, we laughed in a very unpleasant manner. Sorry if he was yours - he is now an ex-inflatable snowman (and no, I didn't do it!).

nancy75 · 10/12/2008 20:22

just a wreath on the door, but i do live round the corner to a house that regularly apears in the papers at xmas and wins prizes for having the most xmas lights in the world all in one front garden!

I do have to admit though we do drive round to the local street where all the nutters neighbours put on a massive show for charity.

NIMBY to the end

how much do al these iant infaltab;e(with their own fans) thingys cost????

I mean we can buy a tree and we have managed to collect tree decs over the years but seriously even if you bought one giant monstosity homer a year it would be a good chunk out of your xmas budget wsouldn't it?
