What are you getting your 4 year old girls?

DD is nearly 4. I've been really very badly organised and generally bad and slow. I was getting her a 'mummy make me better' because it was reduced to £19.95 on Amazon. Now it's not available, and it's more like £30 with postage on other sites. My budget is more like £20 and I'm out of ideas.

What you getting?

My DD 4.5 has asked for one thing moonsand! so that is what she has. We have other things, like princess accessories, but all she really wants is moonsand!

Boco · 09/12/2008 12:53

My six year old had some moonsand last year. It's mostly in the cracks between all our floorboards now!

DD1 is 5 but is really into her styling head thingy. You can get them in the ELC for under £20

Is she too young for something like that?

Boco · 09/12/2008 12:57

She's a bit of a girly girl so that might be good, thanks will look

A castle with battlements! Her idea.

Nagapie · 09/12/2008 12:58

Some doll's furniture for her doll's house
DVD - Shaun the Sheep
Dr. Suess Bookset

She is pretty easy to buy for, but we are stumped as to what to buy our 18 mo son ... we seem to have everything ...

notnowbernard · 09/12/2008 12:59

It comes with 'make-up' as well and lots of bands and clips... easy to add to , too

I like it because it's stopped her hassling to do my hair every 5 minutes

littlerach · 09/12/2008 13:02

DD2 is 4 and we have got her My first Tooth doll, as she requested.
Tesco had them at half pice, and John Lewis were reduced too.

My mum has gor her some knid of dog in a bag

Also a 2 wheeled scooter.

For her birthday we gor her a tent and she loves it.

merrykittymas · 09/12/2008 13:04

notnowbernard - we got DD1 that ELC styling head for her 4th birthday thought she would love it but she hasn't looked at it since.

DD1 is getting a Baby Born Magic Potty, a dolls highchair, a play kitchen to be shared with DD2 (their last one broke), a Bratz car (I know but she is Bratz obsessed) and a Sleeping Beauty along with other bits and pieces.

notnowbernard · 09/12/2008 13:06

Kitty - it's funny how sometimes you're certain they'll love something but often it ends up collecting dust in the corner, isn't it?

This was a major hit in our house, though

mollythetortoise · 09/12/2008 13:09

fur real new born (£12) pyjama's (£6), enchanted dvd (£5), (£1) satsuma (20p) and some slipper socks from m&s (£4) - so about £28 altogether.. might add and Amelia Jane book I already have too.

mollythetortoise · 09/12/2008 13:10

Joolyjoolyjoo · 09/12/2008 13:13

Ours loves art stuff, so she is mainly getting pens/ art sets etc- oh, and she is insisting on aqua beads, which I just KNOW are going to the bane of my (and the hoover's) life, much like last year's moonsand. Ah well.

ninjinglebells · 09/12/2008 13:15

Have woolies still got their sale? - all the toys were 20% off so that would make a £30 dooll £24. Worth a look

TheMuppetsChristmasMuggle · 09/12/2008 13:17

I got this for DD.

Boco · 09/12/2008 13:27

My dd1 has the dolly sticker book from last year and it was a huge hit. They still peel off the stickers and add them to pictures.

Enchanted a good idea, have put that in amazon basket now as it's only a fiver. I think she'd like that.

It's her birthday on 23rd december too! And with 5 nieces and dd1 to buy for I'm beginning to panic - HOW do people do it? I'm starting in January next year.

Playmobil looks fab! She loves the campervan dd1 got a couple of years ago from ILs.

Lego always a winner IMO

You can get some girly Lego now (is it Belle Ville or something?) Princesses, houses, castles etc

My dds play with it a lot

Othersideofthechannel · 09/12/2008 13:33

Do those sticker books have many words in them?

It looks like a good idea for my niece but she only speaks French and although many Usborne books have been translated, it doesn't look like that has yet.

Boco · 09/12/2008 13:37

No hardly any words, small para on each page saying things like 'the fairies are hiding in the strawberry patch, can you find them?' etc.

OP posts:
Boco · 09/12/2008 13:38

lego good idea, will look

Othersideofthechannel · 09/12/2008 13:45

Thanks, her parents read enough English to cope with that.

TheMuppetsChristmasMuggle · 09/12/2008 13:46

we've brought just a bucket of lego, and then the set so you can build a country house!
