What are you getting your 4 year old girls?

DD is nearly 4. I've been really very badly organised and generally bad and slow. I was getting her a 'mummy make me better' because it was reduced to £19.95 on Amazon. Now it's not available, and it's more like £30 with postage on other sites. My budget is more like £20 and I'm out of ideas.

What you getting?

We've got a few themed sets of Lego plus some generic stuff. It's all bundled together so they can make what they want with it, or 'follow' the theme, IYSWIM

DD2 has got more for Christmas

Boco · 09/12/2008 14:14

the pink lego box seems to be sold out everywhere. i think i might have to venture into real life

Have you tried the Lego site?

Boco · 09/12/2008 14:18

Yes - less than a tenner there, but sold out. None at amazon, argos or toysrus. I'm going ot go into a toy shop in Norwich at the weekend. I will need to be Very Brave.

Best of British to you

I've ordered DD (3) some stickers for her stocking from Photobox (you can send in any digital picture and have them made into stickers - I think they were £1.50). Her main present is a shop which I bought from ebay for a bargainous £6 (including a huge stack of play groceries). I'm going to get her a till with barcode scanner to go with it.

TheMuppetsChristmasMuggle · 09/12/2008 14:26

there was some at our toy r us in portsmouth at the weekend tho!

Boco · 09/12/2008 14:37

I'll try going into toysrus, but may need to heavily sedate dp.

Stickers sound good swedes.

For her birthday she's getting a prize I won on mn!

DD (4.5) has asked for... a telescope!!! Got a National Geographic one on Amazon for £10. She'll be delighted and thinks that that is all Santa can bring her. Awesome. A sodding telescope . She's a very eccentric child.

Boco · 09/12/2008 14:52

Dd has asked for a real fox. I said maybe santa could find a toy fox, and she said no, if it was only a toy she'd rather he didn't bother.

DD is 4, she is getting a pink cd player and some play make-up (the only thing she asked for) and some games. Others are getting her a suitcase and an elc electric guitar.

doggiesayswoof · 09/12/2008 15:31

I saw a pretty impressive 2-storey Barbie house in Woolies today, reduced to 23.99 (RRP 59.99)

(I was gutted because I got one from Amazon for 45 squid, but anyhoo.)

DD also getting a CD player for her room and a timer for brushing her teeth - the timer was her one 'must have' present.

My niece is also 4 and she's getting a Cranium game, and doll's clothes for her baby Annabel, & Disney princess gubbins.

ninjinglebells · 09/12/2008 15:51

boco get her to watch the film 'the fox and the child' then she'll know why she can't have a rweal fox

Swedes · 09/12/2008 15:52

Boco - LOL at telling Father Christmas not to bother for a naff old toy fox.

We took DD to see Father Christmas (he looked and smelled like a member of Emmerdale's Dingle family). FC asked her what she would like him to bring her at christmas. DD said 'A present' and FC asked 'What sort of present?' and DD replied 'A wrapped one.'

The toys that my 5 year old and 2 year old DDs both love are...

  • ELC styling head - they play for hours with it.

  • Bella Ballerina DVD, barre and mat. If she's into ballet, I don't know any little ballerina who isn't into it!

  • Dressing up clothes (recently had lots of bargains in woolies)

  • Barbie dolls and all things barbie

  • Polly pocket

Games like Elefun, kerplunk, hungry hippos, Buckaroo (check out three for the price of two at Toys R us).

HTH

She is 4 years 9 months and is getting:
Polly Pocket fashion shop and dolls
Hammer beads
Disney jigsaw
Styling head
Groovy doll with poseable arms and legs
Musical antlers with flashing lights
Box to put hair slides in (from charity shop)
Hair slides
Sound of music DVD

snickersnack · 10/12/2008 13:52

An inflatable globe
A spirograph
Some clothes and shoes for Baby Annabell including a ballet costume and ballet shoes
A hideous plastic princess doll from the pound shop (I think this will probably be her favourite thing)
A lunch box
A bike

My parents bought her a tea set, my brother some books and I think the in-laws are organising some Playmobil
