I can't think for the life of me what to buy my grandmother. She's 89, pretty frail, sadly she's now blind too. She finds talking books a bit hard to follow esp as she can't operated the cd/tape player easily. Every year I get her either a shawl/scarf, a photo of ds (obv not appropriate now she is blind), a pot plant or a brooch. I'm struggling this year.

What's your present dilemma?

Pagwatch, that is ingratitude on an impressive scale .

OK - buy her something that someone else needs, like an Oxfam goat.

Hmmm ok, so weights are out. Does he read things like men's health, body building weekly (if such a thing exists!) could you get him a subscription?

You're welcome... In the meantime tell me what on earth to get my mum, she's blooming loaded so she's got everything she could possibly want, a fabulous wardrobe, lots of real jewellery, a gorgeous house (she's an interior designer) and she has no hobbies to speak of. I'm going to make her a photo diary for work, but I'm stumped for something else.

my gran- she is 77, quite frail, and coming up from cornwall on the train for two weeks so it needs to be quite small and light to go in her case. she doesnt like animals, doesnt eat much and loves crafts

Cross stitches?

For those with a good bnudget there is a service that delivers a bunch of flowers every month for a year; there is also a similar thing with chocolates.

Any ideas for my DP (33yo) who has everything and is only interested in math and finance (and a bit of football and going to the gym). I'm looking around £100-£150 to spend.

Ideas for high maintenance brother: overnight leather bag, stylish desk lamp, nice designer scarf

Ideas for grans:
potted-plants or herbs, a magazine subscription, a shawl...
