erm, that's it!

Seen a few but none that I look at and love. Want something that can be brought out year after year.

Help please!

Have you got a a Cost-Co by you? (I swear I am not on commission - I always seem to suggest them!)

They do a beautiful one for either £40 or £50. Nice and big too - if only I could get myself to not put up Christmas Village I would buy one.

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 20:01

I've been looking too. I fell in love with this one but way too £££ I will be watching this thread with interest.

Weegle · 02/11/2008 20:02

tootiredtothink - no I don't. I'm in the sticks and can't even think of one in one of my nearby towns. Ideally on line.

LovingthePink - that one is great but a) too expensive and b) I'm thinking of maybe something painted??? but not the run of the mill ones!

Worth looking in places like Oxfam, they often have sets carved/made in developing countries for sale.

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 20:04

another option

plus3 · 02/11/2008 20:05

not sure if it's what you are after but John lewis have one for about £25

duckyfuzz · 02/11/2008 20:05

we have this one, its lovely

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 20:06

a link for you

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 20:07

the link was the john lewis one to save you hunting

Yurtgirl · 02/11/2008 20:10

We have got the same one as duckyfuzz - much loved by my children!

We put the stable in place first with the farm animals - then gradually move all the other characters in as December moves along.

The wise men get moved around the room when I go to bed for my kids to notice where they have moved to in the morning

Lakeland one - right sort of thing but is missing a king!

GLTC one on my shortlist and currently winning, same as JL - it's the one that has always come up googling

thanks for all the ideas...

I saw a nice one in the letterbox catalogue, not sure of price. Also have you tried the pier? You can look online for both.

Icanseethesea · 02/11/2008 20:27

try these

We have a lovely SOuth American one from Toybox, but I cannot find a link to it, sorry

JellycatShopkeeper · 02/11/2008 20:29

Nice ones here.

Click on Gisela Graham Christmas, then page 8.

peachygirl · 02/11/2008 20:37

I have the mini figures Gisela Graham one from Jellycats link.

They are actually decorations for your tree but I took the hooks and string off. It sits really nicely on my mantlepiece

Weegle · 02/11/2008 20:42

yes the gisela graham ones look good.

Looked at the pier - don't like them which is a shame as I normally love their stuff

peachygirl · 02/11/2008 20:52

I think mine were from The Pier. I got them in the sale.

barnsleybelle · 02/11/2008 20:54

duckyfuzz... i'm not the poster but i just looked at yours and it's beautiful. Going to get myself one.

traceybath · 02/11/2008 21:00

I'm liking this one

Weirdly have just spent the last hour looking at nativity sets.

Weegle · 02/11/2008 21:02

yes that's lovely, but can't afford that. Keep the links coming, I'm building my shortlist!

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 21:09

Weegle - what do you mean missing a king? There are three kings

Lovingthepink · 02/11/2008 21:12

What about this one obviously obsessed with Lakeland

Weegle · 02/11/2008 21:16

oh yes, I obviously can't count I thought it was 2 kings, joseph and 2 shepherds but it looks like it's 3 kings, joseph and one shepherd? hmm, now I like it more... wish it had more shepherds.

Think I might be being a bit fussy...

We have this one which reminds us that Bethlehem is not a peaceful place these days and has a ruddy great wall round it, like something from the Cold War or Eastern Europe in the 70s

OllieWollieWoo · 02/11/2008 21:17

I love the John Lewis one - but am luving that whole Gisela Graham website - will now have a good look so will shuffle off for an hour or so!!!
