I'm finding that chocolate gives me really bad reflux but I want to have some treats in my stocking! Preferably quite Christmas related. I do like dates and those orange/lemon slices.
What else do you look forward to at Christmas?

-lebkuchen biscuits.
-Paneforte. No, not the bready panettone but its also Italian. Its a soft, chewy dessert made with fruit and nuts and can be served as a dessert or with coffee.
-Glace marrons
-Glace fruit like peaches, mandarins, pineapple, ginger etc. I normally dip 1 end in chocolate but appreciate that is no good for you.

Sugared Almonds

And because everyone knows I like them, I tend to get given Rose and Violet Creams.

Oh I love Turkish Delight!

@5289843DM where do you get panforte? I haven't seen it in any of the usual supermarkets. We can get Ocado/Waitrose delivery and we have Booths too as well as the usual ones.

Proper Turkish delight is my favourite, with fudge a close second (especially the crumbly type of fudge). We usually also have a box of liquorice allsorts and some jelly babies. The Turkish delight and the jelly babies always disappear first

I think they have changed now to Newberry fruit jewels.

caramelised nuts. Aldi ones but Tesco are also nice!

Marzipan. My late MIL used to make those fruit shaped marzipan treats and they were so good to look at and eat! I don’t really associate sweets with Christmas, other than maybe chocolate coins or Terry’s. More often it’s baked goods like stollen, panettone, mince pies etc. My mother loved Turkish delights (not the chocolate coated ones).

Turkish Delight! DH and I give each other licorice selection boxes - a favourite for both of us!

WerewolfOfLoudon · Yesterday 22:11

Candy canes, Brazil nut toffee and vanilla fudge.

Last year I found panforte at tescos. I haven't looked this year, but google tells me that Sainsburys sell it also. I sometimes find that specific Christmas items like that don't always come up on the supermarket searches though, so best to go to a larger store to have a look.
