When do you stop listening to Christmas songs?

I feel weird about it come Boxing Day.

Anyone still listening to them now?

Can’t say I willingly listened to them before Christmas? Only if I was in a shop or something.

Toastersandkettles · 01/01/2026 21:29

Christmas Day was the last day for us. I love them and get really sad when we go back to normal radio.

Princesspollyyy · 01/01/2026 21:32

Not sure why anyone would listen to Christmas songs after Christmas Day itself?

Have you never heard of the 12 days of Christmas?

I was playing a Favourite Carols CD yesterday. I love carols!

PurpleCyclamen · 01/01/2026 21:35

Epiphany: when Christmas is over.
Until then I enjoy every moment of it; I still wear my Xmas jumper too.

QuietLifeNoDrama · 01/01/2026 21:36

I don’t really put them on after Christmas Day.

Hollyjollyelftwinkletoes · 01/01/2026 21:38

I stop listening in the car when heart christmas stops broadcasting. However my Spotify will throw in the odd christmas song through the year, so never 🫣.

Princesspollyyy · 01/01/2026 21:44

@GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER

Yes I have, but I still wouldn’t listen to a Christmas song after Christmas Day itself. Aren’t most people sick of hearing them by then??? 😂

ReignOfError · 01/01/2026 21:50

Normally not after Christmas Eve. But I feel there are two favourites that I haven’t heard this year, so I may have a sneaky listen when my ‘I hate that middle of the road shit’ husband is out tomorrow.

StCuntyMcCunterson · 01/01/2026 21:50

I’m watched a Christmas film last night as haven’t had much chance to watch any this year. I may watch a final one tomorrow. I’m listening to some classical Christmas songs as we speak but I think come tomorrow I’ll have to turn them off. Every year I think I’ll listen and watch to make me feel more Christmassy but I always think I have more time than I do. I adore Christmas.

RedRiverShore6 · 01/01/2026 21:53

I have still got Christmas in the Heart CD on in the car, it comes out each November and reluctantly goes away sometime in January. It's the only Christmas album I listen to. Dylan blasting out Hark the Herald Angels Sing is a joy to behold

VillageFete · 01/01/2026 23:59

Heart Xmas finished yesterday 😞 Magic Christmas finished on Boxing day, which is definitely too soon!

Today is the last day for me, until beginning November. I had a Christmas album on whilst cooking a NYD roast.

I was wondering today how many others are still listening to Christmas music.

Christmas movies will still be watched this weekend - There’s a couple I didn’t have the chance to watch. Like another poster said, I always think I have more time than I actually do.

Firstbornunicorn · 02/01/2026 00:02

I wouldn’t object to Christmas music any time before epiphany, but generally New Year’s Day is the last date I consciously listen to Christmas music while cooking etc. I may listen to some tomorrow, just to shake things up.

Thecows · 02/01/2026 00:05

Christmas Day. Any time after then just feels wrong although tree still up etc

Aparecium · 02/01/2026 00:11

As soon as possible, preferably before Christmas. They are so stale by then. We have such an amazing repertoire of Christmas songs in this country, yet we are bombarded with the same ones year after year after year.

DrCoconut · 02/01/2026 00:14

A lot of the music channels seem to get rid of Christmas music on boxing day which seems very early given how many people are having a second day of visiting/belated Christmas dinner/seeing DC if separated etc. To me new year is the earliest. I will stop on 6th Jan. We still have some Christmas baking to complete too.

Marble10 · 02/01/2026 00:19

Whenever my DS will stop singing them 😬
I remember last March he was still singing jingle bells on the way into school. I’m hoping it is earlier this year.

PumpkinSpicedTea · 02/01/2026 08:58

I also still listen to them up until New Years Day usually. I don't get fed up as ovet the year's I've made up a Spotify playlist of lots of different Christmas songs that aren't the same ones you hear in shops or on radio etc. So I feel like I never get bored of them.

Figgygal · 02/01/2026 08:59

I'm done on Christmas Day
Same with Christmas films

Topseyt123 · 02/01/2026 09:07

I don't make a conscious decision, but really I never listen to them much after Christmas Day except if one happens to come on the TV/radio for some reason.

They feel a bit "past it" after Christmas Day for me.

VictoriaEra · 02/01/2026 10:03

Love Christmas songs and enjoyed them right up to New Years Day. That seems to be the cut off. Heart Christmas Radio stopped then also.

no clue… until epiphany, potentially. 🤔

Because it's technically still Christmas
