If you were invited for Christmas Dinner or longer, did you take anything? If so, what?

Ds and fiancée stayed for 3 nights and bought wine, cocktail stuff and a cheese. Parents came for Christmas day and bought cheeses, crackers, dates and wine.

I would send our incredibly badly behaved guests a link to this thread - older sibling who is normally amazing company and a great guest, and their new spouse who apparently thought they were on an all inclusive holiday with (noted sub par) maid service - however think we are instead going ti suggest they spend more nights at an airbnb. Happy to have any of you in their place.

Reading to get ideas for next year because I never know what to bring, so always end up taking wine, that never actually gets drank. I tried asking I'd there was anything spercific that we needed, but didn't get told anything.

Still take the wine. It’ll always get drunk eventually.

We were once brought a really nice bottle of Chapel Down english sparkling wine as a gift from guests (we didn’t get round to drinking it on the night but that wasn’t an issue) and it’s a firm favourite now.
