@WonderfulSmithSainsburys!

whatthedickens5 · 23/12/2025 23:55

Had a Sainsbury's delivery today and no subs. Couldnt quite believe it!

Cappie73 · 23/12/2025 23:58

Sainsbury’s delivery yesterday evening, only thing missing was a dozen eggs which wasn’t the end of the world tbf.

Asda.

Ordered beef from their festive range. The receipt said unavailable, yet it was delivered - whoohoo!!

no milk

no beef jerky

no gravy

walkers ready salted instead of pringles
colemans mint sauce instead of balsamic mint sauce
Asda rolls instead of scotch rolls
chicken goujons instead of gingerbread men chicken shapes
mcains waffles instead of hazelnut waffles
Asda cocktail sausages instead of exceptional range
Terrys Choclate orange caramel instead of popping candy
crumpets instead of gingerbread men shaped crumpets
8 paxo instead of 2 large paxo
2 pickled cabbage instead of large jar
Medium ketchup instead of large
Light squirty cream instead of full fat

so not too bad all in all. Better than last year when I had my cabbage substituted with ONE Brussel sprout and my cheese with orange juice.....

The one Brussel sprout made me laugh, well it looks like a baby cabbage😁

Ocado lost most of ours, as in the delivery arrived, but the driver said a bag hadn't been added to his lorry. So not even any substitutions-even if there were missing items or substitutions they told you about in advance, which is what usually happens with online orders, I wouldn't mind. My friend says it serves me right for going with a posh one, and yes I know it's a first world problem.

nunsflipflop · 24/12/2025 01:05

Morrisons this evening, subbed a Yule log/profiterole desert to the hazelnut ganache star, which was the desert we originally wanted that was out of stock.

No 30 litre bin bags.

Subbed salad tomatoes for a larger pack.

All in all, very happy

OnlyTheBravest · 24/12/2025 01:12

Ocado, only sub cauliflower cheese for some random cheese and broccoli bake. That went straight back. Popped into local M & S during lunch break and picked up the one I wanted. M & S was busy but not rammed.

Pretty pleased as it was my first time using Ocado for the main Xmas shop.

zobalina77 · 24/12/2025 04:39

I had 29 substitutions or items unavailable! Some were OK, more expensive prosecco yes please, some were not so good, looking at you elmlea instead of double cream. Sent a bag of haribo instead of my tub of quality street. I sent 12 items back for a refund and went to Sainsbury's and ended up buying more than those 12 items!

RedBullAndYop · 24/12/2025 04:49

Mine arrived on the 22nd, only subs were plain cheddar for smoked cheddar truckle and branded Malibu for the Tesco own version. __

TheignT · 24/12/2025 04:50

Got mine yesterday. Got everything delivered by a very smiley young man. Only issue one of the eggs was broken and leaked on the box. He refunded it and only one egg broken so I thought that was a good deal.

Oh elmlea isn't one I'd want or Haribo for that matter but the GC would probably like the.Haribo. 29 substitutions seems incredibly high. How annoying to have to go shopping when you'd planned and done an online shop. I was lucky with just one smashed egg.

caringcarer · 24/12/2025 05:11

Missing 2 tubs of Quality Street, 1 tub of Celebrations, 8 cans of Tango, sweet chilli chicken strips. I ordered 2 bags of QS creams and first bag missing and second bag open and over half chocolates missing, selection of cheese biscuits subbed for 2 packets of cream crackers. From Iceland. DH offered to brave shops first thing tomorrow morning.

Tippletoomany · 24/12/2025 05:14

My Ocado order came yesterday, no substitutions and no missing items.

I use Abel & Cole for meat, veg, etc… They emailed me a few nights before my delivery to say sorry the gammon you’ve ordered hasn’t been supplied to us (800g), so we are going to send you the 1.5kg for no additional cost. It’s worth £60 and I paid £19.99! Safe to say they got a good review after that

ChocolateCinderToffee · 24/12/2025 05:16

Waitrose, subbed the figs with another kind of figs and didn’t have the fancy bread I ordered, but very impressed with them.

SparklyGlitterballs · 24/12/2025 05:27

I have never, ever trusted online deliveries at Christmas and would usually go out at 6am on Christmas Eve Eve to do battle. This year though I've had a knee replacement and knew I wouldn't be able to do that. Admittedly I pre-prepared and bought some stuff a few weeks ago to put in the freezer, but yesterday's Asda order was all complete and I was pleasantly surprised. I even got 5 bottles of large water free because the 6th bottle in the pack was split and the driver said he'd make out he was taking the whole pack for return, but just took out the broken bottle.

I still didn't trust them with the meat though. That got pre-ordered from M&S and will be collected today by DD.

HippyChickMama · 24/12/2025 06:54

Sainsburys earlier this week, no missing items, one substitution of stewing steak for a different stewing steak and the trifle was delivered on its side. Other than that, all good. I do the food shop online every week and very few issues with Sainsburys here, apart from during peak COVID times when I got a can of air freshener instead of toilet rolls

midlifeattheoasis · 24/12/2025 07:38

Waitrose last night. Came 10
mins early with only one sub and that was a different size pack of sprouting broccoli

Very pleased

hiredandsqueak · 24/12/2025 07:55

Orders from Morrisons and Ocado, just one missing item, some dry cured bacon but not a problem as part of the breakfast meal deal and it was the other items I had wanted.

firstofallimadelight · 24/12/2025 07:57

Just realised the sprouts I ordered were a mini pack so 10 sprouts between 9 people!! Off sprout hunting today then

TheCountessAtChristmas · 24/12/2025 07:58

Receipt has just landed
8 substitutions!!! Thankfully they have been sensibly replaced or upgraded eh I ordered tesco I have received a branded item...

One disappointment, 1.5ltr fresh orange for a 900ml one, they could have given me 2x 900ml 😅

FourForksSake · 24/12/2025 08:17

Ocado on Sunday night, no subs and a free tea towel. Although it arrived in a Cabbage van, sadly the driver was Rory not Jesus Wink

Cook delivery was also perfect.

sashh · 24/12/2025 08:29

Delivery this morning, 2 minor subs but otherwise OK.

But I'm not sure it counts because I don't actually celebrate Xmas so I'm not sure if I should be on this thread.

Sartre · 24/12/2025 09:42

Tesco came yesterday and was perfect. Only cauli cheese out of stock but DH didn’t want it anyway so we’re happy!

ClaraLane · 24/12/2025 10:40

Tesco shop at 8am today - no cauliflower cheese so they substituted broccoli cheese instead which I sent back and they didn’t have the damson tonic I wanted. Very impressed otherwise and sent DH to Aldi for cauliflower cheese at 8am when he went to the butcher for our turkey.

StressedLP1 · 24/12/2025 12:05

Mangomintmama · 23/12/2025 17:38

Ours is due this evening and we received an email earlier today to say the Turkey joint, gammon, stuffing balls, prawns, avocados, gravy, cheesecake and double cream were all ‘unavailable’!
Off to M&S we went, it was carnage but successful 🎉

So, most of Christmas dinner then. That’s terrible - glad you got sorted at m&s ❤️
