Christmas Fridge Thread 2025?

Can't see a Christmas fridge thread this year?

Nothing says Christmas like a bun fight over people sharing pictures of their stuffed fridges packed with goodies...

Here's mine so far. Drinks are in the car boot! Will do a top up shop closer to but have the Christmas dinner essentials and treats in there. Can't wait!

What are you meant to do with the temperature?

I've got very little in mine, we're eating out Xmas day, Xmas eve lunch out and races on Boxing Day. On 27th I'm away for 3 days with eldest, youngest and granddaughter. I feel should get some fridge goodies, at least to take away with us. Might brave M and S tomorrow for a mini stock up...

Mine will just be full of milk after I go shopping tomorrow. I think DS baths in it.

I’ve never thought to adjust the temperature on mine!
Do you have to turn it to a bigger or smaller number when there is more in it? Mine always stays on just passed 3.

I didn’t know the fridge threads were up until I saw that posters thread! It made me go looking for them.

Putting food in the fridge plus not having much space between it for air to circulate will raise the temperature a bit, so sometimes it needs adjusting to come back down to (ideally) 5° or below, and definitely below 8°. My fridge has some kind of quick chill button that does it .

(I'm just placemarking to look at the photos though. I love these threads - fingers crossed I'll have a photo to post tomorrow) 😀

@mum2jakieyour fridge won’t work as it is over filled. Fridges work by circulating cold air amongst the contents. Freezers work better packed. I hope you don’t waste any of that food.

Mine never has but I don't like it cold 😅 the alcohol preserves it 👍 but some people do like it chilled

I’m dyspraxic so these threads are actually very useful for me in guidance on how to stash everything away once it arrives tomorrow morning. So the Christmas fridge naysayers can piss off!

I might have to add that cheesecake!

Me too! So that backfired a bit!

Should make it cooler! Less air circulating more chance that it will go off (hence the posts about rancid turkeys a lot of the time fridge is full so won’t chill properly) but also need to make sure stuff isn’t pushed against the back as likely to freeze. Double check but I think 1 is warmer and 5 is colder but not 100%. Should be around 5 degrees if you have a thermometer

This is the good thing about me working all day on Christmas Day! No need to buy any Christmas food as I won’t be at home.
DH and I are having our Christmas dinner in the pub on Boxing Day.

My fridge is full! I've marked it sensitive to not offend those who don't want to see it!

My fridge is so overful, not due to gluttony or greed, but due to sloth! After the hard work of hosting on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day I do nothing more taxing than popping some part baked baguettes or party snacks in the oven, and we'll have an ongoing help yourself buffet right up to New Year.
