What can I add to these glasses to complete the gift?

I bought these lovely cocktail glasses for a gift, (before they were reduced, annoyingly) and I feel like although they are beautiful they look a bit ‘meh’ in the box. I have such decision fatigue now, I don’t know what I can add to them to complete the gift ideally Another£10 or so? I don’t think that’s enough for any actual alcohol plus this recipient is quite fussy so I would really know. Is something cocktail themed too gimmicky?

any suggestions? Something “on theme” or something completely different?

Mini bottle of prosecco
2 pre mixed tinned cocktails
miniatures plus mixer to make a couple of simple cocktails depending on their taste
fancy snacks to go with drinks

PlanetSaturn · 16/12/2025 18:09

A cocktail recipe book? I like ones organised by spirit (so all the vodka based cocktails together, all the white rum ones together, etc.)

A cocktail shaker?

Notexactlyasplanned · 16/12/2025 18:10

Pretty glasses, btw - I’d love them as a gift :-)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/12/2025 18:35

Premixed cocktails maybe but would need to be a fancy brand. 🤔
cocktail book, maybe a vintage one? Probably wouldn’t get in time now. But that would have been a good idea.

I did wonder about some really fancy little doilies and I saw skewers like they have in fancy martinis with olives.

@Notexactlyasplanned thank you, they are nice aren’t they? They looked gorgeous in JL on the shelf, they look a bit flat in the box (plus this person will look for them online so now they are reduced I need to add to the gift 🤦‍♀️)

Nio letterbox cocktails are very fancy, a bit too fancy for me I thought they tasted vile.

I'd go for a cocktail book, or shaker or a some alcohol miniatures.

Hdpr · 16/12/2025 21:27

Lovely present, I’d be thrilled with those. Another set of the same glasses to create a bigger set? Or a cocktail
book

Badslipperluck · 16/12/2025 21:30

A bottle of bitters? No idea which or for which cocktails but having looked them up a while ago i'm pretty sure they're around a tenner on Amazon

Perhaps a set of glass charms? They're handy anyway not just for these glasses. Plenty of designs here; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Best-Sellers-Barware-Glass-Markers-Charms/zgbs/kitchen/3187077031

A bottle of Prosecco. You can drink Prosecco from a coupe glass.

WallaceinAnderland · 16/12/2025 21:49

Do they like jigsaw puzzles?

Eurographics do a good 1000 piece cocktail puzzle which could be an activity to do over Christmas in keeping with the theme

Monkeymonster · 16/12/2025 21:53

Have a look at thegiftoracle on Instagram. She shares some great ways to elevate gifts like this

Wheech · 16/12/2025 22:02

M&S have a little box of 3 cocktail tins for £9 at the moment. It's so pretty I bought one for myself and would be good to give with the glasses. Or maybe a jar of hibiscus flowers and a bottle of prosecco.

Marmaladegin · 16/12/2025 22:03

Drink chillers. Like little decorative stones that do same job as ice cubes without watering down drink

Defiantly41 · 16/12/2025 22:03

The Moth brand canned cocktails are lovely - about £4 each or 4 for the price of 3 at Waitrose

JamesWebbSpaceTelescope · 16/12/2025 22:05

I don’t think you /need/ to add anything to the gift, they are beautiful glasses and people don’t look at them in the box, they will take them out and look at them.

OldWave · 16/12/2025 22:26

Perhaps a fe jars of olives/cherries/fancy sugar or whatever people put into their cocktails?

JustAnotherDayWorkingAtHome · 16/12/2025 22:28

Coasters?

NeedForSpeedyGonzales · 16/12/2025 22:34

A bottle of Freixenet prosecco - it's actually a decent drink, comes in under a tenner and is such a pretty bottle. It looks like cut glass. The pink one looks especially lovely IMO.

BootMaker · 16/12/2025 22:34

No, not prosecco or premixes or charms.

Vermouth brined olives.

Justsewsew · 16/12/2025 22:36

A bottle of cremant or blanc de blanc on offer at most places at the minute. I also saw some bitters called seasond (or similar) the other day that I thought looked intriguing.

pinkgown · 16/12/2025 22:45

Some fancy glass cocktail sticks, eg. https://www.lionshome.co.uk/accessories-cocktail-glasses/stirrers/ or real Maraschino cherries? https://www.masterofmalt.com/food/luxardo/luxardo-maraschino-cherries-food

GarlicRound · 16/12/2025 22:59

Some fab suggestions already - including "nothing" and "another pair of the same". If they're fashionable drinkers, Sainsbury's espresso martini has had rave reviews in the press. Haven't tried it myself because it's sold out locally!

£9 or £6.50 with Nectar.

PrincessofWells · 16/12/2025 23:31

Waitrose Cremante de Loire is very nice and currently on offer. A bit more upmarket than prosecco which imo has been done to death.

dijonketchup · 16/12/2025 23:34

BootMaker · 16/12/2025 22:34

No, not prosecco or premixes or charms.

Vermouth brined olives.

This is what I was going to say, and I have excellent taste OP.
