What can I add to these glasses to complete the gift?

I bought these lovely cocktail glasses for a gift, (before they were reduced, annoyingly) and I feel like although they are beautiful they look a bit ‘meh’ in the box. I have such decision fatigue now, I don’t know what I can add to them to complete the gift ideally Another£10 or so? I don’t think that’s enough for any actual alcohol plus this recipient is quite fussy so I would really know. Is something cocktail themed too gimmicky?

any suggestions? Something “on theme” or something completely different?

This is what I was going to say, and I have excellent taste OP.

We clearly both do!

If you have Amazon prime lots of cocktail books within your budget

Otherwise sugar syrup ,cremant, bottle of Kir,

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/12/2025 07:12

Wow this is why I love you guys. I think the recipient is more of a vermouth brined olive than a glass charm gal, and I am definitely going to look into bitters and the other bits mentioned.

especially you @dijonketchup, (a line from ‘our’ song ❤️)

@thenewaveragebear1983 they are only on offer until 18th so after that the price will probably go up and the recipient won’t know (unless on MN) 🫣😬. I second things like the little tags that go eound glasses to identify who owns them, or fancy cocktail sticks or other accessories 🙂

2 cans of Moth Espresso Martini*. Job done.

*note to self, pack in hospital bag (33 weeks pregnant!)

Calypsocuckoo · 17/12/2025 10:30

Did you know that with John Lewis if they reduce the price within 28 days of you buying they will refund you the difference ?

Bottle of Chambord? Opies cocktail cherries/lemon slices? De kuyper liqueurs?

ConBatulations · 17/12/2025 12:31

As @Calypsocuckoo John Lewis price match themselves. Depending on when you bought them it may be worth contacting them.

BarnacleBeasley · 17/12/2025 12:37

If you are getting bitters, Angostura or Peychaud's are probably what you want. But how about a lemon or lime squeezer?

I think you tagged me by accident but yes there are. Lots of lovely lovely drinks. That I, being pregnant, cannot have. Sob. Grin

(If anyone knows of a good alcohol-free espresso martini let me know!)

Alicorn1707 · 17/12/2025 19:35

I did indeed @AwkwardPaws27

Your wish is my command 😉🍸

That looks pretty good actually - it says it can be used alone as a mocktail so I may order a bottle!

Daisy62 · 17/12/2025 21:12

It’s a classy gift - I’d leave it at that!

Ophy83 · 17/12/2025 21:51

I agree with pp. Fancy olives or cherries in kirsch/luxardo depending on whether the recipients are dry martini people or prefer something sweeter.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 17/12/2025 22:34

Thank you all, I have looked at so many of your links and ideas. I have ordered a really cute kitschy tea towel to go with the gift from Etsy, which I found whilst down a rabbit hole from your many excellent suggestions! So thank you all

Edible flowers in syrup? The ones you can put in cocktails? They look beautiful

DBD1975 · 18/12/2025 08:02

The supermarket have some great offers on mini cocktails (4 for 3 in Tesco) also some fun ones in the shape of Christmas baubles.

You have brought a lovely gift, the glasses are really nice.

Brokentramulator · 18/12/2025 08:03

Two more!
