What non alcoholic drinks do you serve?

No one coming for Christmas day drinks alcohol.

I have bought fancy looking soft drinks in the past but they often don't get drank. People end up drinking squash! (By choice I will say) Last year I was drinking sparkling lemon water with dinner then Dr Pepper for the rest of the day.

What do you serve? I'm thinking sparkling water, 7 up, and squash. Then of course tea/ coffee

Maybe something like a non alcoholic mulled wine for when they arrive?

Ask them what they want!

We would usually do Diet Coke, lemonade, sparkling water, flavoured sparkling water and some juice/squash/cordial. And tea, coffee etc. But if everyone just wants squash then save yourself the waste…?

Mother Root

Allthings · 08/12/2025 12:48

I would ask them what they would like. If it was me, I seldom drink anything other than waters, so wouldn’t thank you for juice or carbonated drinks. Others won’t be happy unless they are full of fizz.

edited to add, I wouldn’t have alcohol free mulled wine either as I hate anything which is meant to mimic alcohol.

Non alcoholic spiced apple and cinnamon - like alcohol free hot cider

Non alcoholic muelled wine

Elderflower cordial with sparkling water - nice with meal

Fresh apple juice with sparkling water - 50/50 mix approx.

Herbal fruit tea - they do a mountain hut tea here that’s apple, orange, cinnamon, herbal tea flavour.

Pot of loose leaf nice black teas. Earl grey, Darjeeling for a change.

Needmorelego · 08/12/2025 12:53

I like J20 (there's often fancy flavours at Christmas).
As someone has said - just ask what they like.

AutumnClouds · 08/12/2025 12:53

You could get some interesting flavours of Monin syrups and soda/tonic/lemonade mixers.

Christmasbear1 · 08/12/2025 12:54

Mother Root

Have you tried Mother Root? I am patiently waiting for an offer (that isn’t a swizzy one on a package with fever tree etc..). Looks nice but £28 a bottle is hard to stomach.

EasilyRemedied · 08/12/2025 12:58

We do tea, coffee, fruit juices, sparkling water. If anyone wants anything else then they bring it themselves. I don’t think that’s out of order considering we are doing all the food.

lap90 · 08/12/2025 12:58

Bowling4soup · 08/12/2025 13:24

Appetiser or j2o.

Nozecco is nice

PurpleThistle7 · 08/12/2025 13:26

I’m not a huge drinker so we usually have appletiser, some sort of cordial mixed up in a jug, cans of Fanta and coke, a couple kinds of fruit juice… I don’t like the taste of alcohol so don’t go for the alcohol free options but if my husband is driving he has alcohol free beer

honestly I’d just have everyone bring something to drink if you’re doing the rest, then everyone can have what they want

Manchestermummax3 · 08/12/2025 13:27

Various flavours of Shloer - they do some fab sparkling ones!

GingerKombucha · 08/12/2025 13:28

I like to have some FeverTree bottles in the fridge for non-drinkers - blood orange soda isn't at all sweet and tastes a bit interesting, white grape and peach is lovely though sweeter and ginger beer is always good for grownups. If you want to do sparkling, don't do non-alcoholic prosecco, go for one of the sparkling tea / kombucha types like Real Dragon.

PluckyChancer · 08/12/2025 13:29

DH makes really good non alcoholic cocktails with added fruit as none of us drink alcohol.
You can buy the alcohol free Prosecco from Aldi to add some fizz to it or just use sparkling water.

I can’t stand normal fizzy drinks like Coke, Seven Up etc. as they give me migraines but I do like the Belvoir range of squashes and fizzy drinks. They make some nice mocktails too.

YYURYYUCICYYUR4ME · 08/12/2025 13:38

Real cordials with no sugar substitutes and carbonated water, alcohol free beers and 0% Guinness, organic colas

CoastalCalm · 08/12/2025 13:41

Schloer ! Only buy at Christmas and it’s nice to have something in a wine glass when others are drinking

Coke in glass bottles and orangina are both Christmas only offerings too and I’ve always got squash , Tripp drinks and M&S (no sweetners) lemonade in to mix with fruit juices

pizzaHeart · 08/12/2025 13:42

We usually do cordial or apple juice with sparkling water or even still water. There is always a festive version cordial at Christmas.

BellaBal · 08/12/2025 13:44

Elderflower and lime cordial and sparkling water
Also some of the flavoured Fevertree tonic waters

And Coca Cola!

Maddy70 · 08/12/2025 13:44

Zero alcohol cava is really good

mondaytosunday · 08/12/2025 13:47

I find squash revolting and wouldn’t give it to a child let alone an adult. I have a few cordials and soda water, a couple juices, diet Coke and another. Water is probably what most people seem to want though.
