I dont mean your food shopping, but your present shopping. I only have a couple of bits to pick up and then I can relax. I've surprised myself though to be honest. Only started in October, picking bits up here and there. I'm usually so far behind, but not this year 😊

I am finished and wrapped!!

I can even go up a step and say that today I’ve also finished buying the snacks/ treats. Meat is in the freezer.
I’ll need to get mince pies and veg closer to time. But I’m pretty much done with all of Christmas buying and it’s a great feeling!!!!

AlwaysADramaHadEnough · 01/12/2025 17:56

Yes , plus all drink , meat in freezer. Cupboard foods , biscuits etc etc . Just the fresh to get a few days before

Xmasdemon · 01/12/2025 18:00

I usually start in Sept to oct but have had a tough few months financially so I will be doing everything this month, including buying a tree etc. I'm considering whether or not to buy presents for children of siblings that have cut me off this year.

hattie43 · 01/12/2025 18:00

All gifts bought bar one voucher which I’ll buy at the weekend . Cards still need to be written though .

Ghhhn · 01/12/2025 18:06

A lot of it done.

Most of the stocking. Bits and pieces picked up over the year to try to avoid a tat panic. Wrapped them early so DC can’t peek.

I go big on the advent calendar and stocking to celebrate the whole Advent. Christmas Day with the in-laws is typically a sh*t show (SIL lives at home and has MH issues, but was shielded rather than helped. The rest of them drink far too much. Husband is an aggressive wet lettuce). I would divorce, but the risk of shared custody is frightening.
Main presents ordered.

Don‘t know what to get parents and husband.

I’ve just got DIL to buy for then I’m done. I’ve done most of my wrapping, I think there’s about 3 left to wrap.
My meats bought and is in the freezer, the tree and decs are up. Never usually this organised

I'm done and wrapped but there's only dh and 3 adult kids. All wrapped apart from ds2 draught excluder,he asked for a dog one. So I got a posh leather one with a dog's head which I know is going to be a pain to wrap as it's a weird shape, quite long and is very heavy. I might leave that till Christmas eve so can just wrap it and leave it in living room.
Just food to get from this month's money but we don't go mad with snacks as dh is pre diabetic and very disciplined. I on the other hand am not so best not to have much in. All the kids have their own flats so come for christmas dinner so don't need snacks either.

I’m sorry to hear you’re having a difficult time. I have a difficult relationship with one sibling and they won’t accept presents from us and our other siblings, so I say don’t waste your money especially if times are financially tough. Be kind to yourself, shop around, the Christmas bargain thread on here is brilliant for deals, discounts and ideas. I hope you have a lovely Christmas.

That's what I'm thinking that they might not even give the DC the gifts. Merry Xmas to you too

I’m pretty much done and most is wrapped. Need to get some robux cards but that’s about it. Dds early January birthday is done as well. Food shopping pretty much done except for the fresh stuff that will be bought in the 23rd.

jocktamsonsbairn · 01/12/2025 19:48

Think I’m done and I wrapped today 😊 but… there are 3 lost presents!! As always!! Got most of the food shopping in too thanks to BLC Morrisons and Tesco Clubcard plus discounts! Got to get the house sorted and get ready to buy the tree which I’ll do Weds as DD is off Thursday and can help me put it up. Then hopefully that’s it, except for the last minute fresh stuff, all go for the big day!

Me! But it won’t stop the itch 😬

😂 yes it’s so difficult especially if you spot a bargain you know a loved one would like or even better a nice reward for yourself for all the hard work.

I’ve bought one thing for DS. His main present (gaming pc) is being sorted this week. Everyone else is getting ££!

IamChipmunk · 01/12/2025 21:05

Yes done! need to print off a couple of vouchers and waiting for some ordered bits to arrive. Most family stuff wrapped.

tree going up at weekend and have a day off on 15th to wrap santa and kids stuff from us.

SoPunkontheInternet · 01/12/2025 21:13

I have an I am SMUG. I’m so looking forward to a December that doesn’t require me to count every penny because we still have xy and z to buy for. I’ve wrapped as they’ve arrived and they’re all bagged for wider family and ready to go as we see people.

mrsskater · 01/12/2025 21:20

Not even started, we put the tree up at weekend though so will probably need some presents soon to go under it 🤦‍♀️🎄

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 01/12/2025 21:30

All finished!! About an hour on Amazon. Not having a tree. Sister is doing the food (I pay).
God I love the children getting older.

Timeforabitofpeace · 01/12/2025 21:47

I have 2 left to get. Some due to arrive and I already have the rest. Haven’t wrapped much yet.

Ihateslugs · 01/12/2025 21:53

ive bought all mine and wrapped them up! I’m having knee replacement surgery on 18th December and as I live alone, I need to be very organised this year! I’ll be missing the big family meal on Christmas Day but my adult children are coming to my house to cook dinner for us then the rest of the family are popping over in the evening for present opening.

Now my presents are sorted, I can get my hospital bag ready and source various aids that I will need when I get home!
