Who has finished their shopping?

I dont mean your food shopping, but your present shopping. I only have a couple of bits to pick up and then I can relax. I've surprised myself though to be honest. Only started in October, picking bits up here and there. I'm usually so far behind, but not this year 😊

Waiting on one more thing being delivered. Hoping to finish the rest of the wrapping this afternoon, but equally there’s some food shopping I would have normally sorted by now that’s still outstanding

I WAS done, now I’m on the hook for a Secret Santa

Lizchapman · 01/12/2025 15:09

Nearly there 😊🎄🎄🎄

BaileyHorse · 01/12/2025 15:10

Yep all done this year and nearly all wrapped too! 🙌🏻🎉🎄

BrightMintTea · 01/12/2025 15:14

Nearly there! I’ve got a couple of stocking fillers left to sort and then I’m done. Feels very unlike me, I’m normally still running around the week before Christmas

lighteningthequeen · 01/12/2025 15:15

All done!!! Never this organised. Feels lovely that now I can just potter about wrapping and doing the house decorations etc. I find December really full on with all the kids stuff and it’s a busy month at work, so I’m usually crying by the 3rd week!! Hopefully not this year!

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 01/12/2025 15:18

I finished mine 3 weeks ago and wrapped everything up a couple of weeks ago. I'm not normally this organised but we had an awful time last year with deliveries being late/delayed etc, and I couldn't be doing with the hassle of that this year, so got everything sorted early.
We even put our tree up on Saturday - something we don't normally do until the first weekend in December!
Got most of the food and drink in, just got fresh stuff to be delivered in the days leading up to Christmas!
I'm feeling a bit smug right now which obviously means something will go horrendously wrong! Ha ha!

luckylavender · 01/12/2025 15:31

Nearly finished. I have 3 things to get but I know where to go

Not mine! I have bought a couple of
things but never really start until the middle of December and smash it all out in one weekend, one in person day at the shops and one day of ordering - I have almost 50 people to buy for and I don’t think it’s stressful or at least I think it’s as stressful as you make it.
I make my own list of what I want to buy people, things like ‘jumper’ or ‘perfume’ and just use it as a guide - first jumper I find that looks okay is what I’ll get.
im quite a bish bash bosh shopper, in and out!!

MirandaWest · 01/12/2025 15:35

Nowhere near finished. Slightly started

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 01/12/2025 15:37

Me! Also started early this year. Thanks TOMM! We've decorated the house as well! Normally I get completely overwhelmed in December and never manage it until quite late.

Hiphopboppertybop99 · 01/12/2025 15:48

Nope !! Not me and I am usually far more organised. Kids don't really know what they want, I have got them some small things. I only buy my own and then nieces / nephews and I'm thinking I might be very unimaginative and go for vouchers / money as now they're getting older struggling to know what to buy.

frozendaisy · 01/12/2025 16:00

Ha ha no not all done
Hopefully we won’t we waiting on a Christmas Eve delivery - that’s the goal

GameOfJones · 01/12/2025 16:06

Yes, all done here. Nothing wrapped yet but after dashing round M&S one Christmas Eve years ago trying to find last minute presents I swore never again and I always aim to be finished present shopping by December so I can just be free to enjoy the festivities and can avoid the shops.

Haven’t even started....no tree or decorations up, can't even think about it all. EXHAUSTING!

It's 1st Dec. Plenty of time if you don't need to send things in the post.
Fine to decorate nearer to Christmas.
I bought a tub of Heroes the other day. Oh and I went to order a turkey crown but the butcher is shut on a Monday.

I only have a teenager at home so there isn't loads of school-related activities and plays. Sometimes I worry that I've missed something as I'm not sure what people are doing in Dec that means they need to have everything all done and dusted by the 1st.

I'll write a list, get what I can online and have a couple of shopping trips.
For sure I'll have a few late nights wrapping but that's OK.

Oh I do need to check last posting dates for overseas cards.

EllaPaella · 01/12/2025 16:43

Me! 😁 I went into town and finished it all this weekend. I’m actually going to do some wrapping now as I have the house to myself for a few hours this evening.

I found years ago that being organised and getting presents as early as possible made such a difference to December. It went from being frantic at times to much more enjoyable and relaxed. I hope you have a lovely December.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 01/12/2025 17:02

Just waiting on a few bits to be delivered. One item has been lost by Amazon so waiting on a replacement but that was delayed again today so may get a refund and purchase IRL instead. Started to wrap today, done one Dc today and will do other tomorrow. Then family and friends Wednesday.

ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS · 01/12/2025 17:06

Me! But it won’t stop the itch 😬

WickedElpheba · 01/12/2025 17:07

Yes just about finished all my shopping, which is nice because it means the money has been spent and it's easier to budget for the rest of the month.

I used to be very busy at work, shopping in person took so long and was very busy and not wanting to dash around and be stuck in traffic with everyone else, we normally had a few adult activities to enjoy, are in the middle of winter bugs season so up to a week could be lost due to not being well, struggling to source what you wanted to buy, seeing family earlier in the month as you don’t see them at Christmas so presents are needed earlier, health issues which mean you struggle with rushing/places being busy/need to be organised, or just wanting to kick back and chill out etc etc. I am sure of us each have our own reasons as to why we prefer to get ahead.

Fifthtimelucky · 01/12/2025 17:13

Nearly. I ordered something for my daughter’s boyfriend today and once that arrives, plus one other thing I ordered a few days ago, I’m all done.

I do need to sort out cards though (I still send a lot).

Maxorias · 01/12/2025 17:28

I've picked almost everything, will order this afternoon. I always do it in avance, it's so much less stressful.

ATadSurprised · 01/12/2025 17:46

I think I'm done (apart from some books for the DC) which makes me think I've forgotten someone or something important!
