Thread 12 - The one where it's All Pants (and socks)

1000 replies

RainbowZebraWarrior · 25/11/2025 20:27

Levi's pants and socks, that is. It's also exactly a month until Christmas!

Also, I have to thank @FortnumsWeddingBreakfastTeaPlease for this quote, as it really tickled me: "Well it's not going to be the one where we found the fucking flamingo.
Honestly I'm starting to despise the stupid, elusive, constipated thing." Sadly, it was too long to make the thread title.

Hello folks and welcome to the ongoing Christmas Bargain threads, which are hosted annually by the Amazing Reastie. I'm just caretaking for now.

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.

Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Has anyone bought a gift card from Cutter and Squidge with the 40% off offer? I have tried adding one to my basket but the price goes up when I add it. Also does anyone know if the gift card can be used with a refer a friend code?

I bought one yesterday afternoon, and it worked absolutely fine. I’m sure I read the offer was valid until midnight.

When I went on to the website today (to order an afternoon tea), I noticed it still had the offer banner on the website. I was intrigued if it would still work (not looking to buy another one, I was just confused because it had said it finished at midnight), but it didn’t.

Just a word of caution re Amazon.
I bought an item valued at £59.99 at the beginning of November.
Wrong item arrived so I arranged a return, picked up by RM on 3rd November. I received a refund the same day. Item received by Amazon on 6th.
Whilst on holiday on 13th I had a reminder to return the item.
Called Amazon on 16th and was reassured all was OK.
Today they tried to reverse the refund. and take £59.99 from my bank account.
Please double check all transactions with this company.

@Ness123 how about a coffee voucher (Costa or whatever you have locally)
A powerbank? I bought this one on a recommendation from this thread - it had a voucher box to bring the price down further which is not showing for me now but that could be because I've already used it powerbank
A water bottle - Smash are fab, keep drinks cold for hours even in 30 degrees.
Rucksack or sports kit bag

@Ness1234 sorry tagged wrong user name

I’ve had a wine already and just want to say Xmas wouldn’t be Xmas without this thread! I’m a lurker but have been lurking for 5 years.

i would like to buy a nice gift around £30 for my nephew (21) he has a great job and buys himself everything he wants. I usually get him generic man things (aftershave and socks) but he’s been so lovely to me this year. What do 21 year old boys want?

hgbvchj · 28/11/2025 19:01

No they don’t. I got an email from they explaining that they won’t do Black Friday

Ah thanks for letting me know, might have to just bite the bullet!

Does anyone know any good places that sell Christmassy flavoured nuts, chocolate nuts and nibbles?

Lidls had caramel/sugar peanuts the other day, I think they do chocolate macadamias too. I splashed out in the M&S munch mix, I was hoping they would be on offer at some point,

Sleeposaurus · 28/11/2025 20:24

The Melissa and Doug dentist set is all great buy for £13.99. I bought it for a 4 year old nephew and my 6 year old DD loved it so much I bought it for her and her 8 year old cousin loved it so much I had to buy it for her too. Even my older children (10 and 12) have enjoyed playing with it.

Does anyone know if Lush usually do Black Friday deals please? Nothing on there at the moment so I’m not hopeful.
All I want is a bath bomb for DS as he requests one every year (specifically has to be Lush unfortunately!) but I resent paying full price plus delivery just for that!

I don’t think they ever do Black Friday. The only time I have seen them reduced is after Christmas. Lush bath bombs seem to be so expensive now :(

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/11/2025 20:31

@WildLongLieI have a years delivery pass for Lush, I can have things posted to anyone, if it’s not too weird and you’re comfortable giving me your address then I’ll send one to you to save you the postage cost?

Fuckingfuckssake · 28/11/2025 20:32

To add there are a few people on here who can vouch for me over the years.

My dd bought herself this with her birthday money last year. She’s now almost 12 and was playing with it the other day!

Exactly the same thing happens to me when I try with Cutter and Squidge. It has a huge banner saying the offer is on today, with a deadline ticking down till midnight tonight. I guess this is an error and HeartandSeoul is correct that the offer has expired.

That’s so kind, thank you so much for the offer but I’ve just remembered that I’m braving real life shopping next week so have done click and collect for it which is free!
Really appreciate it anyway though - this thread really is the best ☺️

They really are aren’t they, I seem to inadvertently got him into an expensive habit!
Good to know about the reductions after Christmas though, thank you

Does anyone know of any Smyths discounts please? I remember seeing some on previous threads but search is failing me

They had a £5 off £50, £10 off £100 a few days ago, but now just seem to have 'Black Friday offers'

ipad deal at Costco £269 for the basic model. Out of stock of some colours but cheapest I have seen them so far

BeckySharpest · 28/11/2025 20:46

Changingagain that's a brilliant idea. I've been looking for tower or stacking gift boxes that would actually fit a chocolate bar and am struggling to get for less than £20 - any ideas? Ali express have some ones but I imagine they wouldn't survive the trip.

Mrssalvatore123 · 28/11/2025 20:49

The dentist toy is perfect for my boyfriend’s 4 year old niece thanks. Any suggestions for a girls who will turn 2 on Xmas day? I kinda need a birthday present and a Xmas present but I’ve only met them twice so want to keep it low key and cheap!

The bracelets themselves don't do anything, they just have beads with one shaped as their chosen animal. They come with an info card though, with details on how to track their chosen animal in the wild. It takes you to a website to track where your animal has been. The money goes towards the conservation of the animals.

What happens if the animals dies? Does it switch to another?

It does if it happens in the first 6 months.

TheCrow · 28/11/2025 21:01

I always ask for the bubble bars from Lush instead of bath bombs, you break a piece off instead of using the entire thing for 1 bath, I usually get around 8-10 really good bubbly baths out of one bar.

Also disappointed with black Friday, not a single thing I'd been watching was reduced or on any kind of offer!

animalcrossingfan2024 · 28/11/2025 21:06

Does anyone have a Roka Holborn jacket and if so do you recommend them? I love my Roka bag and have been thinking of a jacket for a while and they have a really good Black Friday offer on today which is tempting me.

i also managed to get these socks for my son’s stocking, they’re out of stock online but when I went in to Primark today they had them in store.
