When does your Christmas start?

I’m distracting myself from a sad weekend by thinking of exciting things like Christmas!
When does Christmas start for you?
I feel like our local light switch on on 16th November is the start of Christmas with Christmas music in the car from then and probably a Christmas themed book on the go. I’ll probably have a mulled wine that weekend. Christmas films possibly from then.
Then the last weekend of November is when the tree and decorations go up - we also get out the Christmas bedding, jumpers and PJs.
Actual Christmas will start on the 20th when we’ve all finished work and school.
What about you all?

Having grown up in the US Christmas started right after Thanksgiving. We didn’t put our tree up til second week of December though, but shopping etc started then.
Now I’m am adult and it’s my house, tree goes up closest weekend to Dec 1. But by then I’ve decided on the theme and bought a few presents, and the Christmas food slot would have been reserved back in October!

In my head, Christmas starts in September! I absolutely love the run up and the planning and little preparations!

There are no outward signs until December though!

Last weekend in November decorations go up. Actual Christmas starts Christmas Eve when everyone arrives at mine.

Oooooh I loves it I do.

Present buying all year round, for bargains and special finds.

Advents we go quite big with. 1st Dec I also bring out velvet sacks, with our Christmas jumpers, Christmas pjs and Christmas bedding. Just a bit of ceremony to mark the festive month, and get a full month's use out of all the bits.

DC have birthdays just after Christmas, so tree etc goes up early ish, 1st week of Dec so it can be less of a new focal point for their birthday.

I'm definitely going to wrap earlier this year, starting November. Maybe take a couple of days leave to do it while DC are well out of the way.

I have booked off Dec 17th onwards. Fingers crossed this can actually happen and work doesn't go mental.

Christmas mode starts December 1st. Christmas prep, a good while before.

It's DS' birthday on 1st Dec so... decs go up after that on 2nd Dec and then it's Christmas!

I'm in the christmas spirit throughout November and December, but I don't think it actually starts for me until the day the kids break up for school and everyones at home.

I start shopping from the beginning of November. Then decorations go up early December, we will have Xmas outings and events in December and decorations down by early Jan and certainly by 12th night (6th)

I start preparing once the schools go back, although I've already made a start on presents.

Decorating happens from 3rd weekend in November, tree up on last weekend of November, and I aim to have all the presents wrapped read for then too - December is then about doing fun activities with family and friends.

I need to clear out a freezer drawer so I can start prepping bits and bobs.

I love it, and am looking forward to this year as I've got a nice long break from work!

I think I'm an early bird, I've already started most of my shopping for presets. Most presents will be wrapped up by 2 weeks into November, Christmas decorations normally go up after Black Friday. But I have already started doing Christmassy things

You're my opposite. I think I've got ages then oh poo it's 3 days till 25th 😣
