My kids have the chupa chips ones, I have my eye on a beauty one for myself but looking for ideas for DH. He's happy with a chocolate one but I think he love the element of surprise in a more interesting one. I saw the runners one from Bimble and Bolt and I think he'd really like that (he's a entertaining obviously) but then I saw the socks are split over 2 days and it's put me off because it's not like he can use them till he gets the second one. I just think it's a bit weird. The I was thinking the degusta box. Again looks like some of the optio s are a bit less "treat" but it look ssort of fun. Just wondering if anyone has tried either of these or maybe has other options. Id be happy to spend up to maybe £80 or so. If I was rich id definitely get hin the Healf one. Looks great.

has he expressed an interest in having advent calendars? I ask because a lot of men would have no interest in remembering to open a calendar every single day through the month. Of course it’s a lovely thing to be thinking about, but is it really something that he would appreciate to the same extent?

Sexentric · 23/10/2025 09:13

Yes! He'd be super disappointed to not get one! It's a little family ritual. This is the first year I've tried to be more interesting than galaxy chocolate though!

Might be very stereotypical but there are beer ones if he drinks. I think brewdog and hawkstone make some

JurassicPark4Eva · 23/10/2025 09:25

Cheese
Lego Star Wars
Beer
Socks
Pork scratchings

All ones my husband has had in the past.

Helphjjjjb · 23/10/2025 09:29

Homemade?

Get a few pairs of the socks. Favourite snacks. Get or drawer some vouchers for meals or days out. A book. Etc.

Sorry, but this made me chuckle. An advent calendar for an adult man? Are you quite sure? 😂

I've always thought of advent calendars as being for young children, to build the excitement of the coming of Christmas and to teach them about waiting for something to happen, about the passage of time and the number of days of the month. They open a little window every day and see a new picture, or perhaps get a little piece of chocolate.

I can't imagine adults wanting one! What on earth for? If they want chocolates, wouldn't they just buy some?

when looking for Christmas calendar myself this year I found lovehoney is doing them 😇 might consider this year 🤭

Have you been living under a rock? Whether you can understand it or not the adult advent calendar industry is worth millions.
OP my DH had a coffee one last year, Yawn I think.
That Healf one is very expensive 😯

You can't imagine it? How old are you?
Have you not celebrated Christmas in the UK for over a decade or something?

What an odd thing to say.

My elderly male relative, in his 80s, gets a tea one from me and a jam one from my sibling and he looks forward to having them each morning for breakfast. He sends us a photo of himself each day with whatever he has got that day which is lovely.

My partner and adult son are both having a coffee one this year. Last year my son had a Lego one and my partner had a whisky one. They have had lots of different ones in the past, Pringles, popcorn, model cars, hot sauce etc.

SliceofTosst · 23/10/2025 13:30

Taskmaster do one if he likes that programme.

Merrow · 23/10/2025 13:34

EXIT do an escape room-style one where you get a new challenge each day, if that's the sort of thing that might interest him.

HereForTheTea2021 · 30/10/2025 22:54

How about a Lego car from here? www.builduptochristmas.com

bellabelly · 31/10/2025 00:05

If he's into pens, Cult Pens do a brilliant one - I bought for my DH last year. It's £95 so not cheap but great if your DH loves pens etc!

PlantsAndSpaniels · 10/11/2025 15:59

I made one one year, all wrapped up and numbered. Christmas mug on day 1, beers on the weekends, socks, chocolates, and random other bits like a lipbalm, handcream, car airfreshner. My only problem was it was a lot of bits that usually went in his stocking so couldn't put much in that.

Sexentric · 10/11/2025 18:57

I ended up getting the degusta box advent calender. Neither of us have any idea what's in it, so its genuinely exciting 😆

That’s possibly one of the loveliest things I’ve heard - that’s so sweet that he sends you a photo
