This post is a work in process and if you have any links you’d like to share or would be good to add then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links (is that the right word?) And any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of mn filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!

If you have any referral links then please post on this thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/christmas/5212180-bargain-referrals-thread-7 and share around the joy/referral perks.

@ITSSSSCHRISTMASSS TopCashBack, Quidco etc are sites you have to join as a member. Then, when you want to shop online with most major chains, you can click on the cashback website first, search the company you want to shop with and click through to that company's website via the link on the cashback site. Provided you meet the terms of the cashback offer, you will earn that amount of cashback on your purchase.

You don't receive the money immediately though - you have to wait for it to be processed and checked, which can take up to 6 or so months! (although can be a lot less). Once it's gone through, it appears as credit in your account which you can move to your bank or you can buy gift cards with it which gives you further cashback.

Someone else will hopefully be able to tell you about the banking/Paypal ones. If you do decide to sign up to TCB or Quidco, use one of the referral links on the referrals board as that will give both you and that referrer some money in your cashback account.

Thank you for that.

Just to give you an idea, this is the cashback I've earned since 2014. Mainly from signing up to various broadband, mobile and Sky offers. Now I tend to make a few pennies from JustEat 😁

Wow thank you, I will look into this more.

nothingtoseehereatall · 06/10/2025 13:02

Ah my Superdrug order just cancelled too.

VeruccaSalty · 06/10/2025 13:10

It looks like it was the cost per 100ml rather than total. Mine not cancelled yet but won't get near Superdrug today

The 50% off is back this morning on the candle lamps.

Not sure if this has already been asked, but can anyone recommend any candles/ wax melts to use with this?
thanks x

Fuckingfuckssake · 06/10/2025 13:34

I’ll be needing a railcard before December, if anyone happens to see any great deals please would you let me know? Thanks.

I already have 2 myself and purchased others for gifts - but it's coming up as £8.99 for me when I get to final check out!

hugsandpugs · 06/10/2025 13:47

This couples blanket is down to £2.20 on Asda George!! Originally £22

I’ve just ordered one with the 20% cashback from PayPal so I’ll have it for £1.76! 👌🥰

@Fuckingfuckssake

Trip.com are always offering me good deals on railcards, so it would be worth making an account with them and signing up for notifications.

Warning: They send loads of notifications and seem obsessed with sending me to Manchester atm, (which is especially odd as I haven’t ever expressed any interest in visiting!)

hby9628 · 06/10/2025 13:59

Ahhhh boooo my Superdrug order has been cancelled. Worth a try though.

Wellwhoknewthat · 06/10/2025 14:00

@Fuckingfuckssake several of the rail cards are on tesco clubcard rewards

IlovePond · 06/10/2025 14:02

@PumpkinSpicedTea

I was reading Bunty from the age of 6 or so. It was aimed at primary school children who were good readers. Judy magazine skewed a tiny bit older - maybe up to 12. (I know that I loved Judy, but always felt Bunty was a bit babyish 😹😹😹). I very sadly knew it was time to give up reading Judy only when they started recycling the stories I had read years earlier and I remembered them!

For 12/13+ onwards, it was Jackie magazine.

I still have my Judy club badge!

I had the ready to collect email from Superdrug this morning for my perfume and just now had an email to say it’s been refunded. Wouldn’t have been impressed if I’d set off to collect it as my local store isn’t close by.

Trumpton · 06/10/2025 14:04

@Fuckingfuckssake
Texco vouchers double up on railcard. I just bought a senior Railcard with £17.50 worth of vouchers.

Oh no, I was hoping getting the ready to collect email meant it had slipped through. I can't get to my store until Wednesday so I suspect it will get cancelled before then.

Houseofsardines · 06/10/2025 14:07

I just have a code for money off the degusta advent which took it to £33 ish
AC-WEB
not sure how many uses it has

Brilliant thank you! I was looking for something to give my dn and her gf as just giving money! This will be a fun way to wrap it for them and still give a parcel!

If you login you can also get a further 20% home furnishings so brings it down to £1.76.....then 20% back through PayPal cashback.

Thanks for this!

hopefully this link works! 🥰

Out of stock when I tried to pay

I’m thinking the Superdrug perfume offers must have been priced wrong! They have now changed today! Glad I managed to order them last night so thanks again for the person who shared it!

I got a message this morning to say mine was ready to collect followed by an email a few hours later saying it had been cancelled.

I had an email to say mine was ready to collect just before 9am and had to go to my local village to pick up something so went to collect the same time. Perhaps if I hadn’t collected straight away it may have been cancelled

Oh no, had a feeling they wouldn’t have lasted long at that price. I ordered one but wish I’d got a couple more!

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 06/10/2025 15:28

Might still be hope for those that have ready to collect orders from Superdrug. I’ve just collected my Superdrug order now. Ordered both perfumes Calvin & Jimmy Choo last night. Was worried they were going to be cancelled before I got there however both were waiting for me. I received my ready to collect confirmation early this morning, about 9am so I hope others are as lucky.
