For me, my mother.
There will always be an empty space now around the Christmas table.
I would love just one more Christmas day for us to spend together.

Who (alive or dead) do you wish you could spend Christmas day with?

My lovely mum. She died last year, only 69. Cancer. She loved Christmas, always made such an effort, thoughtful gifts, stockings. She has two little granddaughters who she doted on and she loved seeing them at Christmas. She was the best gran.

I will have a little cry on Christmas Day at some point as I think of her, but not for too long as our Christmases were always so happy and I will try to channel that.

Aww, I understand that completely.
My mother used to play with my grandson, she was a young great nana, still lively.
I wish she could have seen how he has grown. He was very young when she died, but we have talked about her so much he remembers her vividly.

Though our loved ones are not here on Christmas day, in a way they are, because their presence is still felt via the lovely memories.

Also my mum, I miss her so much she brought such magic to Christmas that I can't replicate. I buy a candle each Christmas and light it for her throughout though. I was lucky to have the mum I did.

I dream sometimes about being on sort of a game show; some versions of it, and you get to have 5 minutes more with a deceased loved one (maybe courtesy of Elon Musk?!) if you win. It’s so stressful and I always get to the final. But never win. I so long for just a few minutes more with my DM. Sorry, OP I think maybe this was a bit more emotional than you had intended by way of response.

Merry Christmas to all. And to those missing loved ones I hope you find peace.

Not at all...thanks for sharing. x

My friend’s baby was born sleeping at the end of May and she’s really struggling with the festive period.

If I had one wish, I’d have her little one with my friend where she belongs.

My mum, she died in September, so suddenly and I'm still in shock.

I don't know how we're going to get through it without her 😔 I want her so badly it hurts...

My mum,

she died on her own of covid Christmas Day 2020 and oh, what I wouldn’t give to have been allowed to be there and to hold her. I’d give anything to have one more moment.
