The Ross Kemp version.
It's on YouTube.

Ross Kemp! That's the name of the guy I forgot in my earlier post 😂 That version is so good. Thanks for letting us know it's on YouTube I'm going to rewatch it.

ParadiseLaundry · 19/12/2024 17:22

I agree with you OP, Patrick Stewart version is the definitive one, but the musical version with Kelsey Grammer comes a closer second. I'm off to dig out my old iPod to put the soundtrack on now! Xmas Grin

Alistair Sim, black and white version. So creepy and atmospheric and great effects for the time

Bigearringsbigsmile · 19/12/2024 17:25

100% the Albert finney musical

stargirl1701 · 19/12/2024 17:27
  1. Muppets
  2. Disney
  3. Patrick Stewart
  4. Albert Finney
  5. George C Scott
  6. Scrooged - Bill Murray
  7. Ross Kemp
  8. Carey Mulligan
  9. Kelsey Grammar
10. Guy Pearce (excellent but too dark for me)
Toomanysquishmallows · 19/12/2024 17:28

I'll be watching this one, this Christmas. I love Alastair Sim!

MoreEqualPig · 19/12/2024 17:39

Yes to all the Muppets love. Watch that every year

IAm16StoneHalloween2024 · 19/12/2024 18:07

I’m biased, as I have to vote for the only version I’ve ever seen, but it is Simon Callow so surely it must be an excellent version?

A Christmas Carol

Simon Callow's acclaimed one-man adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic for the small screen. Viewers can listen in stereo or binaural via headphones.

Alistair Sim for me. I do like the Ross Kemp one too.

Bellybootcut · 19/12/2024 18:12

Albert Finney
Puppets

But I'll watch and enjoy any of them. Also rather enjoyed the Miriam Margoyles documentary about it that was on tv last night.

HolyMoly24 · 19/12/2024 20:49

The Muppets of course!

Scrooged is a close second.

Puppets?? Blasphemy! 😦

FatAlec · 19/12/2024 20:59

Muppets obviously and the Patrick Stewart version. I watch both every year.

SugarCookieMonster · 19/12/2024 21:01

Muppets is the absolute best.
Honourable mention to the Netflix animated Scrooge. The songs are brilliant (includes Thank you very much from the Albert Finley/Alec Guinness version) and voiced by Luke Evans.

FadedRed · 19/12/2024 21:02

Patrick Stewart’s my first choice also.
Check his version of The Canterville Ghost”, which we always watch over Christmas season too.

stargazerlil · 19/12/2024 21:03

Spirited. Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds

GiraffesAtThePark · 19/12/2024 21:03

I can’t recall any other version apart from the muppets. It’d be hard to beat. I tried watching it with my 3 year old but had to stop as I didn’t think that it’s actually a little scary in parts for young children.

He also did a really good version of Mobby Dick

PastaAndProse · 19/12/2024 21:11

Overall, the Patrick Stewart version, however the animated Jim Carrey version would be a close second.

TheWildRosie · 19/12/2024 21:34

Scrooge with Albert Finney.

Avariceagain · 19/12/2024 21:43

Blackadder for sure

emmetgirl · 19/12/2024 22:12

MUPPETS!!

leia24 · 19/12/2024 22:15
