Looking for ideas for all the lovely ladies in my life ... And maybe even myself. So far my Santa list is a pair of Bluetooth headphones so I can listen to very inappropriate podcasts and my children won't hear, and a very good, non-leaky travel mug for my horrible work commute. What are you getting?

A new apron (boring but I have fairly large boobs and most normal ones don't cover properly)
tickets for Starlight Express
suitcase for a 3-4 day trip
I will get a fluffy blanket from DD for the daybed in my den

There will be a joint present for me and DH - a new toaster

OP the link to your life changing fry pan wouldn't open for me... can you say what it's called so I can look it up?
Thank you 🙏🏻

I usually get nothing but do have a wishlist.

SilverDoe · 07/12/2024 11:36

I've asked my partner for (and know I'm getting) 🥰

Daisy Love perfume
Nice pajamas
Redken ABC Hair Mask
NY Times yearly subscription for the games stuff, am considering asking for the cooking one too
A few surprises

My mum is getting me some makeup and a fancy eyelash curler I have chosen so its exactly what I want!

I'm also considering asking DP (or sneakily getting myself!!) Some of those super extra Perfectil vitamins.

These are all things I wouldn't really buy myself - obviously I'd by myself makeup and vitamins, but perhaps not the same quality or price point of the ones I'd get for Christmas. So they might sound like boring gifts, but they're really exciting for me 😊

SilverDoe · 07/12/2024 11:41

Oh and I do like surprise gifts, DP always ensures to get me some surprises, but honestly, I also really want what I know I want, so my partner is fine with me "dropping hints" and my mum straight up gets me to order what I want. Don't see anything wrong with that, I will be honest I like going to bed on Christmas eve knowing I can absolutely wake up to some gifts I will love. It hasn't always been financially possible for me and DP to spoil each other so it means a lot to me. My DP also never got Christmas presents as a child and I always like to spoil him and make sure he has something to look forward to.

PureBoggin · 07/12/2024 12:31

Some really lovely ideas here guys - thanks so much. I have added the Gently Used Book Club to my wish list.

For those who said that the point of gifting is the surprise - my lovely husband is such a kind and thoughtful person in so many ways but he really, really struggles with gifting. He literally freezes and panics and it causes so much anxiety. It's fine to help him out...I usually give him a list of about ten things so that he can pick one or two and there is still an element of surprise for me.

DH is excellent at gifts but I have had a bit of input this year so, hopefully:
Puppy voucher. We have agreed to get a border terrier so I am hoping he has found one, albeit not expecting it on Christmas Day!
Jigsaw (from Waterstones)
Posh bird feeders
White Stuff dressing gown

Veryangryboy · 07/12/2024 16:22

I don't have anyone to buy me anything, but if I did...
A really good quality bathrobe
Nice pyjamas which are actually long enough
Walking boots
Theatre tickets
Perfume
Earrings

I did buy myself a robot vacuum cleaner as I hate housework with a passion, but it didn't work and has been returned

I've asked for plain chocolate, cointreau, two fiction books, one non fiction book, scarf I've seen, mobile phone case and slippers. The slippers are actually from my Mum now paying and I've had to go out and chose.

pinkksugarmouse · 07/12/2024 18:18

DD(22) and DH are jointly buying me a laptop. I certainly don't need anything high-spec I just want to finally having a really good go at writing a book. I don't care if its never purchased by a single person. I just want to write one.
My arthritis has got to a point where I can barely write my address so typing is the only way.
DH and I also have a large box of hotel chocolat each. We open them on Christmas Eve. DH has also mentioned something about a present from our cats. So I have no clue what they have bought for me.

pinkksugarmouse · 07/12/2024 18:20

I think my stepdaughter will probably get me some pyjamas too. I love pyjamas. I have far more more pairs of pyjamas than day clothes.

BestIsWest · 07/12/2024 18:25

I’m getting an Apple Watch, perfume, an adjustable drawing board, some paintbrushes and with luck, some nice chocolate and coffee.

wlv12 · 07/12/2024 18:38

I’ve got some Charlotte Tilbury make up and brushes coming that I was after and a Pandora bracelet.

SavageGarden23 · 07/12/2024 19:25

I asked for st eval candles from my partner. He bought them and promptly gave it to me,the reasoning given was to use during xmas season....Few weeks later I just gave him a fleece to wear as he needed a new one.he looks at it and says ohh it matches with your xmas gift and you can use it as its getting colder. Before i could stop him he produces a coat. I asked him if he realized that this means I don't have anything to open on xmas morning . So I have just bought hot diamonds jewellery for myself and gave it to my DC to wrap and put under the tree. I have bought a lot of shit over black Friday as well,Roka backpack, posh makeup from Merit beauty, clarins perfumes, sparkly jumpers. My sister weirdly said she is not getting me anything just because she is not visiting me this year. I actually told her today that as I am visiting her in New Year and as I have bought her presents it would be nice if she could get me a box of chocolates at least so that she doesn't feel awkward. Sometimes its ok to stop doing shit for people and demand that they acknowledge us instead for once.

BloodyWolves · 07/12/2024 19:38

I know that my children (well my ex as the kids are young) have got me some earrings from The Great Frog to replace a pair I lost a while back. My mum gives me money, Ferraro Rocher and a token gift to open every year. This year I asked for a salt lamp so I have my fingers crossed.

What I really want though which I know nobody will buy for me is some bath/self care goodies. I ask every year and it’s always deemed a waste of money and not a ‘proper’ present. I love a bubble bath with a candle and all the trimmings though! I’m going to treat myself but I’ll probably wait until Boxing Day when all the gift sets get reduced 😁

Lovemusic82 · 07/12/2024 19:47

Tickets to my favourite band (only £24….small venue)
Band tshirt which was £10 in a sale.
Turkish delight minis

I would like some new walking trousers but I missed Black Friday sale so they are now full price so I shall wait until the January sales.

familyissues12345 · 07/12/2024 21:28

I've requested either perfume or an eye shadow pallette from DH and an Oliver Bonas wooly hat from DS1 ( His GF works there and gets a good discount!)

I'm going to treat myself to a curling wand Grin

EllaPaella · 07/12/2024 22:32

I'm getting perfume and some jewellery- Annia Haak earrings and a stacking bracelet from DH.
Aside from that, no idea. My Mum does me a little bag of goodies. The only other people that buy for me are my eldest DS and my sister.
