I'm hosting Christmas Eve this year. We tend to do a really nice cheeseboard. Any suggestions? My favourites are Tor, Smoking Ember, wild garlic Yarg and a mildish Stilton.

Only discovered manchego a few weeks ago. Truly food of the Gods

Ooh, I'd forgotten Chaorce!

When offering it to eachother, DH and I shout the name in the manner of Father Jack.

Sad I know, but it's the little things that keep a marriage alive.

We always have a manchego and Cashel blue.

I asked DS1 what he wanted as his main present this year. He said: Baron Bigod. He's getting it.

I was given a wheel of brie one year by a colleague who knows I love cheese. He did not tell me what it was. It went under our tree, beside a radiator and the smell alerted me that something was amiss under there!

Salted ricotta is amazing. This thread is making me so hungry, going to have remortgage the house after I’ve hit up Waitrose for half of the suggestions…

Brillat Savarin.

Black Bomber, Rock Star and Red Storm are my too three. I adore very strong cheddar. Has anyone got any recommendations for the strongest cheddar they have tried.

Oh no! What a shame, He should have told you.
We won't make that mistake with DS.

I know! I would have been delighted with it

Baron Bigod
Waitrose No 1 Manchego - definitely better than other supermarket offerings (I have sampled/compared a lot)

Caramelandsalt · 22/11/2024 19:19

This smallish selection is a good way to try, without a hefty price tag

Oops from Waitrose, they also do a fab one from the deli counter , comes with a description of each cheese and often includes a local cheese . 4 or 5 for around £15

I think it changes every few months
