I want luxury children's Xmas crackers but the results I get on Google are crap.

I think it's fun to fill your own. DH is getting a whisky miniature of something he's wanted to try. Who knows what I will get 😅

I don't like those you've listed OP. The cost doesnt exactly represent the goods either. It's a sparkly brooch and I'm sure (sorry to say) if one of my ds (7 and 4) got one they'd rather play with the flicky frogs in the cheap ones (which you can also get in fancier wrapping so to speak). Watching though in case I've missed a trick. Fwiw I make our own. This year my boys are getting a TMNT akedo figure each in there's, my DD will be getting her very first mini brushable my little pony (she's 2). They will love them.

I kinda want a brushable My Little pony! Sound a great! I bet she will absolutely love it!

I'm Gona look up the TMNT thing for my 5yr old

Supermarket. The fun is in the snap, crackle, crap joke, paper hat, and rubbish toy. You can wrap a nicer quality table gift if that's what you're after.

I agree with this. Kids love plastic tat. It's why party bags are so inexplicably popular. Don't waste your money on posh crackers for little kids.

MySistersCard · 08/11/2024 21:08

The problem is that v luxury crackers are often just stupid stuff made expensive eg solid silver cocktail jigger. And kids don’t really want things like that.

Im surprised Lego haven’t got into the Christmas cracker market.

I thought these looked OK, there is also a racing game one

We did a racing one last year so was wanting something new.

I think you're probanly right, it's a wasted effort.

Off piste but I just came across these and thought wildflower seeds is a great idea! www.selfridges.com/GB/en/product/little-green-cracker-company-stripe-graphic-assorted-pack-of-six-christmas-crackers-31cm_R04374757/#colour=MULTI

I'm the opposite - every year I search in vain for the old fashioned cheap and cheerful crackers as I really want a tiny pack of cards, the miniature screwdriver set, a plastic ring so we can all 'marry' each other over desert, some curly fish and a few impossible puzzles.

Do these even exist anymore???

WhoWhereWhatWhy · 08/11/2024 21:21

I’ve filled my own for years. The trick is to get the biggest crackers you can so that it gives you more options for the contents.

things I’ve out in - molton brown/ body shop miniatures, lip balms, lipstick, thomas trains, Disney cars, celebrations chocolates, RSPB pins …

Have you tried the xylophone crackers, we had great fun with them last year, hand bells the year before. All the little ones loved the racket !

Op you should try Little Crafty Bugs as they have wonderful cracker gifts for all ages and the empty crackers too, been using them for years now.

StrongandNorthern · 08/11/2024 21:30

Make your own and choose your own level/definition of 'luxury'.

BunnyBerries · 08/11/2024 21:32

I've seen these ones in case of interest!

'Elite crackers' is an oxymoron.

Just make your own - that way you can put something inside that you know they'll like.

Psychologymam · 08/11/2024 21:32

disclaimer: I am not the elite! But my mother (and now me) always made our own - , decent presents and you can put in whatever bits that are important to you! No matter how much you pay for crackers they always seem a bit sad when pulled!

They're just crackers

No one cares how fancy they are

Oooh I wouldn't say that.
when I was about 10 we went to a beautiful country house hotel for Christmas lunch. The crackers were the most beautiful I had ever seen and I still have the little folding fan brooch (it actually folds out like a real fan) nearly 40 years later and I have never forgotten the sheer wonder of those gorgeous, dusky pink crackers. And the regency style dolls house in the lounge...

If the children are older there's some items in these which would be suitable

Or these which are a better price

There is hope for Christmas 2024!

I actually just googled inspired by your thread and found an unopened pack of Woolworths 1970's crackers. I have bought them and I am now so so so excited for Christmas - it will be like being 6 again! 🎄

Br1ll1ant · 08/11/2024 21:42

We had ones from Etsy one year that had Lego figures in. Also, Robin Reed used to do some with fake Lego animals in. They were fun and helped amuse the kids at the table.

karmalaaaala · 09/11/2024 08:56

Kaneo.co.uk

They are beautiful a one time purchase. Then buy individual gifts to go in which are far nicer than the tat you get even in high end brands. Can be a hand made chocolate, Lego figure or diamond earrings.
