I'm going for it this evening - which one shall I kick off with?
I'm thinking probably The Holiday

I watched one the other day that was like Groundhog Day but on Christmas Eve; it was quite entertaining and I would watch it again.

I'll try and post the name of it when I next sit down to watch TV (if I can remember which channel or app it was on...!)

12 dates of christmas on Disney + ? I watched it yesterday, one of my favourites.

I think there are a few others with the same groundhog day vibe though.

The Noelle Diary is pretty good.

I have also kicked off with Last Christmas and we always watch the classics - Die Hard, Home Alone, the Holiday, It's a Wonderful Life and the original Miracle on 34th Street.

iPlayer uses has really lovely black and white festive films that I'd love to buy but can never find

In the end I went for Last Christmas. I bloody love it.

Then I watched Falling for Christmas - awful. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Just need to pick one for tonight - will likely be a Channel 5 delight!

Meet me next Xmas on Netflix was a cheese fest! Grin

Moier · 09/11/2024 15:38

My all time favourite Christmas film is Noel.

I'm watching this on your recommendation @BehindTheSequinsandStilettos

BehindTheSequinsandStilettos · 09/11/2024 17:47

Oh lordy, I'm not sure it being cheesy is a recommendation, I'm so sorry! Grin
It is no.1 in movies atm though and was an easy watch at least.
I didn't mind the vocal band but I was more like the assistant in terms of "Oh God, they're singing again!"
The basic bitch Serendipity plot mixed with running round like a Scavenger Hunt and odd product placement was a bit weird as was the lipsync Snow Ball side plot but it was festive enough!

caringcarer · 09/11/2024 18:13

The first Xmas film we watch every year in my house is Die Hard.

summer555 · 09/11/2024 18:22

We love click and collect.

My older teen sons like Home Alone 2, Daddy's Home 1 & 2, The Holiday, Love Actually and Four Christmases.

LattewithAlmondCroissant · 09/11/2024 20:34

The two Home Alone films are our Christmas favourites here - pure 90s nostalgia!

I also love Muppets Christmas Carol but nobody else in my house feels the same way!

mogtheexcellent · 10/11/2024 18:29

Mrs Miracle was on ch5 this afternoon. Will prob be on catch up. Love Doris Roberts.

NoWordForFluffy · 10/11/2024 18:43

I watched the animated Grinch and Polar Express last weekend. I've done Home Alone this afternoon and I'm now on Die Hard!

kikisparks · 10/11/2024 21:27

We watched Christmas chronicles tonight, I enjoyed it (again). It’s not one of my top 5 but it is fun.

Samandytimlucypeterolivia · 10/11/2024 22:55

I always watch cheesy Christmas movies in November and then do a Christmas movie advent for December up until Christmas Eve… the kids love it. We use wheel of names to pick out the order… I also fit in Harry Potter the week running up to Christmas… 😆

HereComesDecember · 17/11/2024 18:25

I watched this earlier and thoroughly enjoyed it. November is for the Hallmark (rubbish) Christmas films for me, with December being the “proper” ones - Home Alone, Die Hard, Elf and the like.

One PP mentioned merry gentlemen on Netflix. It's really good I watched last weekend.

Can anyone suggest couple of good films for a 3 year old? I showed him polar express but he already believes in Santa so didn't make sense to him.
