Festive afternoon tea in London - help!

Am really struggling (first-world problem, obvs) to pick somewhere for a Christmas afternoon tea in London.I want a lovely, Christmassy venue, and somewhere that looks posh (ie. not Peggy Porschen). Somewhere like the Lanesborough would be ideal - except not that as we want Christmassy-themed food, not Bridgerton-themed. And not the Landmark or Cafe Royal.

Any recommendations?!

Oh no! I even set a reminder on my phone for when they released the tickets. I must have missed it.

What about Sketch?

Don’t know if location will work, but we had a lovely Christmas afternoon tea at The Rubens at the Palace last year after seeing Hamilton.

The NoMad is beautiful for afternoon tea

Chateauneufdu · 04/10/2024 20:12

Browns

Four seasons at Trinity Square near tower Bridge. We have been twice at Christmas and it's been truly wonderful

Toomanyusernamestochoose · 04/10/2024 20:20

Dorchester?

Pebbles16 · 04/10/2024 20:22

The Petersham in Covent Garden is lovely. Not sure about a piano

Twilightstarbright · 04/10/2024 20:26

The Ritz is the best for festive but it’s sold out- might be cancellations though.

Fortnums is great around Christmas.

Wallabyone · 04/10/2024 20:34

Another vote for Fortnums

Yeknom · 04/10/2024 20:35

Another vote for the Dorchester

The Corinthia or the Connaught both do very fancy and delicious afternoon teas and go full on Christmas.

IggyAce · 04/10/2024 20:39

The Wolsley was lovely for afternoon tea.

Isthiscorrect · 04/10/2024 20:54

The Goring. Absolutely lovely. Or Sketch depending on who you are going with.

AyrshireTryer · 04/10/2024 21:04

The Wolsey.

OuiOuiMonAmi · 04/10/2024 21:04

Thanks so much, everyone - will check those ideas out.

Browns is lovely, and has great vegan options too! Live pianist, fab service, really special. I think it's better than the Ritz.

Is this the hotel on Albemarle Street, or the restaurant in Covent Garden?
