There’s a lot of building work going on too Fluffy, so massive scaffolding and boarding. Some are artifacts going through restoration like one of the fountains.

But crossing the road is a nightmare. Last time we went to Rome we were in a group tour. This time we were taken on a coach and issued our Hop On/Hop Off tickets. It was a Rome on Your Own type .

On a zebra crossing even if it has lights and you wait for the Green Man , cars still go across. Don’t even wait for you to get to the other side. Bikes and scooters just sail on by too.
Makes crossing in London feel almost civilised 😂

They didn't have music when my son had one (well two to be fair) and that was fifteen years ago approximately Woolly. I do think music would help.

All my tests are done now. I have a HOT clinic appointment in September. No peri/menopausal woman needs boiling in a clinic. I suspect it means something else mind you 😂

NoWordForFluffy · 19/08/2024 09:03

I get boiled every time I go to Spire Liverpool. It's ridiculously hot in there!

Have a lovely time 70.

DH and I did Venice, Florence, Rome and Sicily in 10 days years ago pre kids and I loved it. I do remember not being allowed in the Vatican as I had my shoulders exposed (fallen woman). I think now they give you a shawl.

Magnoliasunrise · 19/08/2024 10:54

Why, what is a HOT clinic appointment? I am very curious now. Good luck with it all anyway.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/08/2024 10:55

I don't really know what it is Magnolia. I suspect it is something to do with needing urgent treatment starting if my googling of my results is right.

Magnoliasunrise · 19/08/2024 11:00

Don't fall down the google rabbit hole and start worrying yourself. When my DSis was ill I took over the googling for her and just told her what I felt she needed to know rather than the inaccurate and sometimes worrying stuff. Fingers crossed for you.

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 19/08/2024 11:04

I lived Rome when we went last year. It was madly busy but full of the kind of hustle and bustle I like. Hope you're having a great time 70

Fluffy I wish I knew why hospitals are always so bloody hot. When I took my mum in last summer they had the heating on but all Windows open and were giving people fans to put next to their beds 😳

I agree about the googling magnolia - I googled my symptoms when I had pancreatitis and thought it was an ectopic pregnancy!

Good luck and I hope your appointment goes well why 💐

I'm working from home while DH is in bed ill. He's never ill (or won't ever admit to feeling ill anyway) so he must be rough.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 19/08/2024 11:06

I was pretty sure of what I had anyway, so I wasn't too concerned with googling it at all. That isn't always the case and sometimes I freak myself out but it told me what I was expecting this time 😂

MinnieDog · 19/08/2024 11:30

I was the worst for googling when I was pregnant, in hindsight I wish someone had just taken my internet away 😖

I also have a bit of health anxiety and drive DW bonkers by googling things now too. Google is no good for people like me!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/08/2024 12:10

They do say “Dr Google is not your friend “. 😉

Hopingforno2in2024 · 19/08/2024 15:07

I hate Dr Google! You are either pregnant or dying.

We have just arrived at Manchester Airport hotel ready for our early flight tomorrow.

JenniferGreenHat · 19/08/2024 15:58

DH and I went interrailing back in 2009 - 2 months around Europe. We had very little money so walked round all the places we visited - we liked Rome a lot, but it was October/November when we visited and still quite busy.

I’m sat in the dentist waiting room for my last appointment to finish all the things that needed doing. I’ve had quite a few months since my last appointment and I’m very nervous again.

I looked at the magazines in Waitrose today, hoping to see the first Christmas one out. Won’t be long!

Frontroomroomjungle · 19/08/2024 16:50

The supermarket Christmas food magazines have replaced the Argos catalogue in my affections 😅

Ah yes and there’s always a shout out when the Christmas Good Housekeeping makes an appearance, usually round Guy Fawkes Night .

I had forgotten the Christmas GH! Last year's has been in my work bag since it came out (and I'm not sorry, sometimes you just need to look a beef wellington recipe).

Morning!

I got VERY wet on the dog walk this morning. It absolutely shat down while we were out. 😩 Dog enjoyed it though (Labradors love water)!

I managed not to buy any Christmas magazines last year, as they mostly re-hash previous years. Might succumb this year! I have ordered 3 World of Cross Stitch magazines though, as there was a £6 offer. I can then hoard them and never get round to doing the patterns I like. 🤣🤣

I used to love walking MILs lab on a rainy day Fluffy - she would walk perfectly nicely for a bit then randomly jump sideways into puddles and would make a high pitched whine when she knew we were approaching the entrance to the river (which she would lie down in) 🤣

Every year I say I'm not buying any magazines but I usually end up with some. Last year I think DH bought me some.
I'll try not to again this year - I still have a collection of them tucked away in a nice Christmas box so I can flick through those if need be.

It's grey and drizzly here, perfect weather for Christmas planning Xmas Smile

Magnoliasunrise · 20/08/2024 09:29

I had a GoodFood magazine subscription for years but I was disappointed with the coronation celebration issue and the last couple of christmas editions have been a bit crap so I cancelled it and will now feel justified in buying GH and whatever else looks good before Christmas.

Our labradors over the years have always hated water.
Though our newest pup. 14 weeks old seems to like water on his terms. Hates the sprinkler but has done a few dives into the kids pool 😐

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2024 09:55

Labradors who don't like water? Traitors to the breed! 🤣

I've never bought a Christmas magazine! Which one shall I get?

NoWordForFluffy · 20/08/2024 10:59

All of them! #enabler Xmas Grin

Good Housekeeping is good (the actual Christmas one, not the December one), if you only want 1.

I started making some raspberry gin today. I hope it works better than the last batch I made - when I opened it to strain and decant it I discovered that it had fermented and I had to clean the ceiling. I will be opening this batch outside as a precaution.

Hopingforno2in2024 · 21/08/2024 05:34

Morning all :)

Croatia is very beautiful and very hot. So grateful for the sea!

I haven’t bought Christmas magazines in years as as @NoWordForFluffy says they tend to repeat themselves. Might get one this year though.
