Good pics Meeces. Hope your argument blows over.

Why I am totally in awe of you. I've got a few bits but mainly stuff from Jan/Feb sales. Bought nothing today.......... yet!! <gets back online>

Happy Rudolph Day Xmas Grin

I have nail polish for DD (festive red and a gold glitter) and that's about it .
I am very tempted by some diamond earrings I saw (for her not me) but they are ££ and TBH , unless you know diamonds who will be able to tell?

I am bloody knackered , busy week at work and way too hot'n'muggy to be hungry .
I will be doing some online browsing too this weekend ....

NoWordForFluffy · 25/07/2024 19:08

I have two Oodies, and that's as far as I've gone! Xmas Grin

No point buying much else yet really (though I keep an eye on Lego prices!).

Friday < I don't work on Fridays >
Washing load number 1 is on
Lots of sorting out /putting away clothes
Supermarket delivery
and whatever 101 things I need to do .

NoWordForFluffy · 26/07/2024 07:39

Morning!

It seems quite nice here today. I had a nice run with 🦮 (thankfully not quite as far as yesterday when he forced me to do 7.5km!).

DD has a class leaving party this afternoon (4 til late), so DH will go with her to that. Then she gets the excitement of buying school uniform with me tomorrow! It's just PE kit and blazer to buy. The rest I got from M&S the other week.

Magnoliasunrise · 26/07/2024 07:57

Morning!

I've got a wash on too.

DS (15) had 6 of his mates over last night then decided at 11pm that they all wanted to sleepover so got random teenagers lying all around the house. I'm going to the gym and leaving them a bin bag and anti bac. 😂

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/07/2024 07:59

Ohh buying School Uniform ( I do not miss that at all)

DS had trousers from M&S ( slim/X long) shirts from Sainsbury , blazer from Next (nicest one for his skinny frame)
DD like Tesco blouses , M&S Senior Girl blazer ( striped lining very nice) skirt from M&S where we had the I'm not wearing THAT and I said the school won;t let you wear this arguement . Primark tights

You;d think you could go into one shop for everything ..nope.
Oh and some things from the Uniform School (PE kit) and some only from the School itself (tie/badge/summer term polo top)

And then the Bag........... the stationery ...

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/07/2024 08:05

Oh and shoes .

I used to take , the first week DH had the middle three then I had the last two .
I bought clothes uniform in week 1 and shoes in week 5-6 .
Usually took the DC away with my DParents at the end of holidays .
With the number of holidays they had DH and I had to work out our A/L to cover . DParents used to visit us and I would work some days when they were here doing GrandParent duties but it was hard work for them !

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 26/07/2024 08:43

I used to love the shopping for stationery and a new bag part of summer holidays.

You're all very organised. Dsis will only really think about uniform shopping when it's week 5 or 6 of the holidays 🙄
She's ignoring me after our words yesterday which is a PITA but she'll be back to normal in the next day or so (no apology or anything though).

Weather is nice here so I'll pop a wash on when DH gets up. He's still flat out right now while I'm working.
Aiming for a 1 or 2pm finish today 🤞🏼

FireflyGirl · 26/07/2024 13:18

They're not netted, Fluffy. That was partly why I realised they weren't salad, because I went to remove the butterfly eggs and saw the sprouts growing on the stalks! The eggs have been rehomed to DD's nursery, who were very excited and keep sending me updates 🤣

I have been very enterprising today. Up, wash on, did some work, took DS to forest school in a village about 20 minutes away, did more work in the library around the corner and am now just working in my car in the forest school car park until he finishes at 2.

Then we're driving back to meet my DM who has DD and DN, and meeting up with my DSis who has my other DN at a local attraction we have summer passes to where there's a huge sandpit and water play.

Then we're having frozen pizza for tea because I am not Superwoman (which I apparently forget sometimes 🙄)!

Magnoliasunrise · 26/07/2024 16:43

Yey frozen pizza here for tea too coz I've had a day cleaning up after DS and his buddies as DS cleaning skills are rubbish. He did hang a wash out for me though. And now I cannot be arsed to cook anything.

NoWordForFluffy · 26/07/2024 18:05

DS and I are having Domino's pizza tonight as a treat, seeing as DD has her party.

I forgot about a bag / stationery. That can be a last minute thing. Pretty sure protractors won't sell out. 🤣🤣

Morning Xmas Smile

Nice here , I'll water the plants early doors then head off to the shops later .
My tomato plants (from seed ) are doing well , flowers but no sign yet of tomatoes .

DD and I watched some of Happy Valley 3 , she's waiting for TLR to shave off his scabby looking beard and cut his hair then the dramatic scene in court and he gets into lycra cycling gear ( yes she's a massive James Norton fan Xmas Grin )

I got her a James Norton drinks coaster as one of her birthday gifts but she cannot bring herself to put hot coffee on his little face !

NoWordForFluffy · 27/07/2024 10:22

Morning!

It's just started to rain here. Apparently it's not going to last. As long as it's enough to water the plants and refill the butt, I'm happy!

Our washing is out still though, as we aren't going to Hokey Cokey it all day! (We got the dry stuff in, but the wet stuff can stay out til it's dry!)

Our tomatoes have come on in leaps and bounds recently, thankfully. They're all getting tall and they have the start of flowers on them. I think they're only 3 weeks behind where they were last year now. They get fed every weekend, so maybe that has assisted!

FireflyGirl · 27/07/2024 19:31

Did you get your rain Fluffy?

We had a deluge for 20 mins at about 4pm and now the sun is back out!

NoWordForFluffy · 27/07/2024 20:04

We got a little rain. Nothing like forecast. It's been gorgeous this afternoon. We had an impromptu BBQ!

We made it to England (4 hour boat!). Had a lovely day at Paultons Park yesterday and now at my parents. Night 1 of 9.

Wish me luck. And them to be honest, as I can definitely be difficult to be around too!

I loved seeing the Christmas tree photos on the previous page. I ordered a reduced huge dinosaur and had it sent here, so have to fit that in the car on the way back. So many shops won’t sent to my house, so taking advantage of being here. I can take all my whistlefish cards home too.

TKMaxx/HomeSense house ware bit had Hallowe'en stock in. Not just a couple of things but shelves of decorations , ornaments , candles .
DD was very It's JULY .
It is one of those shops that likes to run 3 months ahead , if you go there in early October there will be not a whiff of Hallowe'en, it'll be Full On Christmas Xmas Grin

Costco get their Christmas ( or "The Holidays " as they call it because it's originally from the USA) stock in about September when the schools go back , Hallowe'en will be soon.

Asda had Hot Cross Buns ... its July ....

Goes off muttering "We're going to Hell in a HandCart"

Magnoliasunrise · 28/07/2024 08:34

70, I know what you mean about the shopping seasons - I once tried to buy a swimsuit in M&S in August and the sales girl looked at me like I was nuts trying to buy swimwear in Summer.

It's very confusing and another reason why I feel like life is rushing away, its coz the bloody shops are "come on hurry up, next season"

I once saw Easter Eggs on Boxing Day. 😦

Enjoy your holiday Jennifer - is Paulton Park home of Peppa Pig world? I spent many hours there listening to "Big Balloon" over and over <shudder>

TheWoollybacksWife · 28/07/2024 09:55

Well thanks for today's earworm Magnolia. Peppa on repeat while DS had chickenpox - Big Balloon and the Bing Bong Song. 🙉🙉🙉

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 28/07/2024 10:36

I went to the seaside with my husband yesterday. Went for a slow walk with many stops. We had an ice cream then some chips later on before we left.

It is the last day of the WeRChristmas sale if anyone wants a new tree etc.

JenniferGreenHat · 28/07/2024 11:29

@Magnoliasunrise Yes, Peppa Pig World was the main reason we went, but there were loads of other rides too. We thought it was all brilliant, really enjoyable day.

I know what you mean about shops pushing the next season or event, they definitely cause things to rush by. Even the garden centre selling all the Christmas decorations off nearly half price, a week before Christmas. The displays then look a mess and it feels like Christmas is done, before we even have Christmas. Quite sad really. It’s difficult to not be swept along with it all.

JenniferGreenHat · 28/07/2024 11:31

@whydoesitalwayshappentome It sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday at the seaside.

I’m hoping to get there at the weekend, the DC will love the 2p machines at the amusements. Even though we live on an island, with loads of beaches, we don’t have any amusements at all. Brings back lots of memories listening to the music and seeing rock being sold and fish and chips. Can’t wait!

NoCheesesForUsMeeces · 28/07/2024 11:42

I don’t mind Halloween and Christmas stuff being in shops early (especially as dm works in TK Maxx so I get extra early warning and great discounts) but eastereggs being out early annoys me. No idea why.

why chips and ice cream when you’re at the seaside is mandatory isn’t it?

Boiling here today. I did loads of housework yesterday so am being lazy today. Have done some cross stitching then painted my nails. Now faffing online while they dry.

Have a birthday lunch for dm then home to potch in the garden and maybe finish the job I started and abandoned yesterday (sorting the drawers in my work desk).
