My daughter is nearly 14. She hasn’t requested much for Christmas and this is what she has so far

Sol de Janerio set Large. Is what she asked for
An essentials tracksuit (found on sale)
Lego Orchid
Ordinary set

I was thinking of giving her £100 cash to go shopping with…

In her stocking it’s just
spicy noodles
spray
lip oil
a nice comb
her favourite chocolates
individual eyelashes
tweezers

I’m so stuck with what else to if anything to give her.

She has a Xmas eve box with pjs, a bath bomb and fluffy socks.

I don’t think you need to give her any more. That sounds like lots of lovely things, and things she wants so it’s thoughtful. It’s easy to go over the top and I think extra cash or more presents would be over the top. I’m she’ll be happy with what you have already got. Much better to save the money and spend it on something later rather than everything being at Christmas.

User1343 · 13/12/2023 09:10

Sounds lovely to me

Christmaspanicat · 13/12/2023 09:30

Thank you. I feel weirdly guilty that it’s not enough. I know she will be so pleased with what she has but I would love just spoil her

Sounds lovely as is. I really don't think you need to add anymore, but I understand the feeling.

YouBelongWithMe · 13/12/2023 09:36

My 14yr old also loves the Lego Botanical stuff. The Wildflowers set is so beautiful.

We've also got her The Ordinary kit.

What about books? My daughter sent me a (long) list of hopeful reads, and I picked a few to wrap individually.

I also got her some nice earrings for her stocking.

Imtoooldforallthis · 13/12/2023 09:37

If you want to add something else what about a small peice of jewellry, there's some nice stuff on here in the sale.

If you want to bulk it out on the day - large selection box, a couple of books wrapped separately, huge box (or multiple boxes inside boxes) with a gift voucher or cash at the bottom

Lyonesse2020 · 13/12/2023 09:44

For something a bit more quirky, how about food? Some of our biggest hits sound really boring, but our two love favourite foods. A 24-pack of fizzy drinks, or 12-pack of crisps, looks impressive, shows how well you know her (assuming it's the right type!) and won't be expensive. My daughter still tells everybody about the year Santa put a bottle of ketchup in her stocking when she was 3, 5 Christmases ago.

OMGitsnotgood · 13/12/2023 09:47

I also think it's enough. That said my adult DC were discussing how much they still love the stocking fillets and it's still the unwrapping of something not necessarily expensive but thoughtful that thrills them.

I was going to suggest a book for her stocking, also mentioned by PP.
My DD always loved new stationery - ring binder for school; post it notes; pens
I also used stocking fillers to replace old socks/stockings/knickers.
Some savoury snacks - small tub of Pringles?
'Every day' shower gel, body lotion, deodorant
Something to 'do' eg a craft set

bloodyeffinnora · 13/12/2023 10:08

my 15 year old has asked for:
Glow recipe ultra glow Watermelon mist £20
glow recipe avocado melt eye mask £32.
definitely all in to their skincare.

I got my husband a Noodle Dinosaur Bowl.

It's really cute, insulated metal bowl, lidded, so you just put the noodles in with boiling water, put the lid on and leave it.

I got it almost a joke present with a box of noodles and he loves it!

Oh thank you so much for your ideas! I understand when they get older the piles become smaller but these are all great ideas, I’ve ordered a few now

Sounds lovely and plenty.

She sounds very well raised not to be asking for loads of 'stuff'.

Beingacatbed · 13/12/2023 13:02

I have bought my 14 year old very similar items and have also got her some other bits as there is no other family to buy gifts for her. She has also got..
some boots that i would have bought for winter but are being wrapped up
a squishmallow.
oodie type thing from next with highland cows on
some stationary and art bits
some elf make up
hair straightening brush
huge stick of oreos
lip balms
Mirror with lights from boots
slippers
selection box
oversized hoodie
books

Theoldwoman · 13/12/2023 13:47

I would add a book or a puzzle.

Brilliant!!! Just bought mine! 🦖

WeirdPookah · 13/12/2023 19:11

@QueenBitch666 Yay! I hope it's enjoyed! It's also a fun thing to continue if you have some Asian supermarkets to look round and try the many flavours of noodles they have.

blackfluffycat · 13/12/2023 19:28

Dd's have asked for lots of skincare stuff and things for their bedroom.

mondaytosunday · 13/12/2023 19:29

A book?

BrandyandGinger · 13/12/2023 19:33

How about a game like Jenga or Scattegories or Yahtzee? Bulky looking when wrapped up and fun on Christmas night.

tokesqueen · 13/12/2023 19:34

A jar of whipped soap.
Lots of Christmassy and glittery ones.

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 13/12/2023 19:37

one year, a friend was about to start a university course in January, and I gave her a boot box filled with tissue and laid on it a pencil case, notebook, pens, pencils, post its etc. it wasn’t at all expensive but it was quite wow and she absolutely loved it. You could ask similar with ring binders, envelope files etc? WHSmith is very good for this at the moment.

EconomyClassRockstar · 13/12/2023 20:21

I always think it's us parents that struggle with the smaller looking gifts when our kids are teens than the teens themselves. They don't want big piles of plastic tat anymore and that's ok!

Thindog · 13/12/2023 20:30

Tissues, cotton wool balls, lip balm, hand cream, nail varnish, selection box, magazine or book, pens, stationary, underwear, socks.

PomegranateRose · 13/12/2023 20:39

I think what you've got sounds absolutely perfect! My sister and I are definitely not teens any more and honestly, you'd be surprised how much we get excited about and appreciate the smaller things like PPs have mentioned - each Christmas and birthday my mum does us a gift bag of the deodorants she knows we like, shower gels, razors, our favourite flavour lip balms (Carmex or Nivea etc., nothing fancy) and other such bits, and usually chucks in a normal multipack or two of the run of the mill sweets she knows we like too.

When we get these, I just see all the time and thought she's put in when she's been out and seen something we like to use, remembered, and put it aside for us. We're definitely of an age where we can buy these things for ourselves and we don't live at home any more, but since we were teens and began having quite specific ideas of what we would like (so presents weren't quite such a surprise any more), these gift bags and the thought of her quietly remembering what we like and squirreling bits away through the weeks before have always been the most touching thing. I'm actually almost tearing up a little now 😅

You've done brilliantly already OP :)
