My daughter is nearly 14. She hasn’t requested much for Christmas and this is what she has so far

Sol de Janerio set Large. Is what she asked for
An essentials tracksuit (found on sale)
Lego Orchid
Ordinary set

I was thinking of giving her £100 cash to go shopping with…

In her stocking it’s just
spicy noodles
spray
lip oil
a nice comb
her favourite chocolates
individual eyelashes
tweezers

I’m so stuck with what else to if anything to give her.

She has a Xmas eve box with pjs, a bath bomb and fluffy socks.

Brilliant presents. I’ve got my 13yo very similar.

I added the heartstopper book set, mushroom glass lamp thing they’ve been eyeing up, Taylor Swift print off Etsy, birthstone earring set, sheet masks and a ‘snackbox’ (dr pepper, fave crisps, haribo, pop tarts etc) I got one of those crates from primark and filled it up.

A noodle bowl with chopsticks might be fun if she likes noodles?

MumOfOneAwesomeHuman · 13/12/2023 20:59

That sounds lovely. For dd's stocking I usually buy similar plus some earrings, a few bits of make up, new make up bag, lots of books, favourite chocolate or sweets.

A few padding out ideas - I bought a three pack of different scrunchies and individually wrapped them. Face packs and nail varnish, fluffy socks, gloves and slippers from Primark.

Ilovelurchers · 13/12/2023 21:02

The presents you have sound lovely and ample but I understand the impulse to spoil her, especially if she is a lovely girl who does not demand much - mine never asks for anything and is so lacking in materialism compared to me at that age - conversely it makes me want to reward her by giving her more!

A few things I have got my 12 year old (not very expensive):

Cushion cover and print for her room
Stationery - novelty pencil case and pens and stuff (she loves animals - all cat themed).
Some silly cuddly toys
Lip balm, some face masks.
Make-up bag.
A few funny/silly pin badges.
Books - some supernatural romance nonsense and some non-fiction reflecting her interest.

And my partner showed me today a recipe book he has bought her she will love - she does a lot of cooking.

She is getting her ears pierced for her birthday and I cannot wait - I have been hoarding novelty earrings to give her for ages! She is quite a humorous girl so I think she will love them.....

Nonplusultra · 13/12/2023 21:16

That’s a lovely list op, thoughtful and on point.

I’ve got some sweets and treats for dd (13) stocking - an individually wrapped jonut (haven’t had those for ages), Robin eggs because she got excited about those in the advent calendar, a kinder joy for nostalgia value because she was obsessed about them when she was little.

And I’ve got her a big squishmallow which seems to be the acceptable type of soft toy at that sensitive age where she still really likes them but wants to be cool in front of her friends.

Topsyturvy78 · 13/12/2023 21:52

If that's all she's asked for I wouldn't buy her any more for the sake of it. When I got to my teens I preferred a few gifts and some cash. So we could go shopping in the sale's after Christmas.

Prettypennies · 13/12/2023 22:04

I’m in my 30s and would love everything on your 14 years old list haha.

If she loves style and grooming then that is a fantastic bundle.
If she has any other interests and you definitely want to get her something else perhaps get something related to a different interest?

Gotosleepnow2023 · 13/12/2023 23:13

If she hasn't already got one a lazy Suzan for cosmetics is a great gift to put all her new beauty stuff in, they're really cheap on Amazon, starting at around a tenner. I just bought one for my 13yo niece and she loved it. Hours of fun organising her new gifts!

This kind of thing...

Love all these ideas, I've ordered the Lego orchid as suggested above!

I loved getting books at her age.

Classic novels. Little Women a favorite.

Interesting reference books or "fun fact" books, etiquette books, how-to / DIY, craft book/kit, cookery book, etc

Non fiction autobiography & memoirs

Mystery novels

Magazine subscription

Also personal stationery, diary, pens etc

For something a bit more quirky, how about food? Some of our biggest hits sound really boring, but our two love favourite foods. A 24-pack of fizzy drinks, or 12-pack of crisps, looks impressive, shows how well you know her (assuming it's the right type!) and won't be expensive. My daughter still tells everybody about the year Santa put a bottle of ketchup in her stocking when she was 3, 5 Christmases ago.

My son doesn't drink much fizzy juice but he likes a Dr Pepper now and again. I'm getting him a 12 pack and my mum is getting him a box of Tunnocks Teacakes they do them in a box of 36 at Christmas, you can also get boxes of Snowballs.

caringcarer · 14/12/2023 02:27

Hand cream
Lip gloss
Selection pack
Puzzle book
Fingerless Gloves

All cheap but good stocking fillers

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 03:09

It sounds enough especially with the cash 💰 which she'll love

My DD 16 now creates PowerPoints with links to things she wants Hmm

Nothing ridiculously expensive luckily just clothes and bits and bobs like an eyelash lift kit (she can use it on me so that's good) and a nail gel kit which comes with a UV light thing to harden the nails. So she'll probably practice on me and I'll get roped into doing her right hand no doubt.

She knows she won't get the latest iPhone which anyone would want even me.

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 03:13

I would love to buy her the latest iPhone and UGG boots and UGG slippers and a Le Pliage tote bag and expensive designer clothes I know she'd love but no one really has those round here and she'd look like a bit of spoilt brat if she did have them.

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 03:17

My DS 18 only has a lego set, bottle of fancy whiskey and a Roman coin and new King Charles coin so far for his collection because he hasn't a clue what he wants. I'm pleased I've managed to get those tbh plus chocolates and things for his stocking
It's actually painful racking my brain as to what to get him.

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 03:20

Actually family members are getting DS a Switch which he wants for some reason even though he has a PS5

coronafiona · 14/12/2023 03:35

Superdrug has this MUA The everything edit half price at the moment ;

I've got my girls one each, might be worth a look?

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 14/12/2023 04:11

I saw a commerial yesterday for Sally Hansen gel nail polish with glitters, I believe it is a special efition. I am picking up some tomorrow as part of a Secret Santa gift bag.

Rockfordpeach · 14/12/2023 05:45

My step DS is 15 and wanted an expensive tracksuit for Xmas and nothing else so I have given him money on top. Problem with that is my DD 13 has asked for lots of little things (heartstopper related mainly) and my DS6 has lots of toys so there looks like a big difference in their gifts. I ended up buying some gold envelopes and some small gifts like a selection box, body spray set etc and put money in the envelope and put that in each gift so he has more to open and on Christmas morning it won't look like I've bought my own children piles of gifts and him just one. Even though realistically they have had the same spent on them, I thought it might be deflating for him on Xmas morning if he didn't have some bits to open

PieAndLattes · 14/12/2023 05:52

How about stuff she needs anyway? Nice versions of Pants, socks, nice shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hair bands, school bag/handbag/purse, pyjamas, slippers, fluffy /electric blanket for bed, books…

Passthecake30 · 14/12/2023 07:03

I’ve added pjs, socks, deodorant and shower gel sets and books to my teens piles to bulk them out.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 14/12/2023 07:49

My teens always request big litre bottle of shampoo and conditioner and I always add some shower gels too e.g. Treaclemoon from Boots, £1.99 for 500ml and they have dupe smells like Snow Fairy and Sol de Janeiro. They are just consumables I'd be buying anyway but it bulks out the pile.

itsgettingweird · 14/12/2023 07:56

Personally I think if you have another £100 around to give her I'd buy presents with it.

Cash doesn't add to tree presents.

Look at earrings
Trainers
Hamper of smellies
Books
Another Lego set
Stationary

Although having said that what you've got her already is fine and she doesn't need more but I can understand when people want to buy more - especially if like me you only buy stuff at birthdays and Xmas.
