I’m fascinated by the fact that people have these lovely tree toppers and manage to get them to stay upright. Every one I’ve ever bought has been an unmitigated disaster as they bend the top branch and lean over.

What am I missing??

My daughters tree has this beauty on the top. It’s a Harry Styles doll in a sleeping beauty dress. Looks perfect!

My parents have a plush Eeyore tree topper and my brother and SIL use a (my!) Santa hat.

DD's angel made out of toilet roll in reception. It is now on its 15th Christmas!

I fold over the tip of the branch once or twice, so it's not so long and that seems to make a sturdier support. I do have an artificial tree though.

We have two trees.

On one is a small teddy bear dressed as a wizard I've had since I was about 10 (so is about 30 years old now).

On the other is a Rudolph my dad made at school in about 1960 (63 years old and going strong).

We have Jack Skellington on our tree, it's not up yet but this is him last year

I’ve got a fairy with a wooden head and big white dress with net overlay and wired ribbons. Probably 16 years old now.

Large straw star from a German Christmas market.

Here she is. Wooden painted face with a Tudor braid, no arms or legs, just a stick, white dress overlaid with net, wired ribbon and wired flowers. Definitely a Tudor vibe but I’m sure you could make whatever you fancied. I usually roll and stuff a (never used) cloth nappy under the dress which reminds me how long I’ve had it.

Mine is similar to this and I love her. My tree is a mish mash of colour with a mixture of very vintage and more recent decorations.

I have a fairy bought in Holland about 25 years ago, shes naked (kind on skin coloured nylon) quite Rubenesque with huge feathered wings with her hands clasped together over her, erm bits which holds the first of the tree lights, long curly hair, love it!
