There was an Instax mini in Lidl yesterday/ annoyed that I can’t remember the price!

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 23/11/2023 14:15

@BlairWaldorfOG
That's a blue light code you posted. Their terms and conditions are very clear that codes are not to be shared on the internet. Another poster has said she has lost her entitlement to a blue light card for sharing a code and someone reporting her, so I would ask for your post to be removed.
Blue light will know it's been shared if lots of people try to use it too as it is account specific.
Other people have also posted this advice on these threads.

online home store is on tiktok, doing free delivery and giveaways

Claramay78 · 23/11/2023 14:19

Re silver jewellery, jewellery lab has lots of black friday offers, I've bought from them a few times, very happy with stuff

Daisychain789 · 23/11/2023 14:32

does anyone have a 10% student discount code for loccitane please? I’ve signed up to the newsletter but no discount has come through

FollowerOfKushiel · 23/11/2023 14:37

@SweetPeaPods thanks, I was hoping for delivery as it's hard for me to get out with the children, I've managed to get free reservation at a store near my Dad so he's going to collect for me after work 😊

MrsChristiesChristmasCake · 23/11/2023 14:38

@GlobetrottingPercy they *might write back! My son has written twice, once last year and once the year before, and he didn't get a letter back either time!

Worth a try though 😊

hby9628 · 23/11/2023 14:39

Does anybody have any thoughts on where to get nice personalised jewellery boxes? I want to get our daughters something from their Gran who has recently passed away & thought this might be nice for them to keep as they get older. I looked at stackers but DH (it's his mum) isn't keen on the colours.
Welcome to any other ideas for parents for them from her. Thank you x

farnworth · 23/11/2023 14:40

@Timelass
I have used Snapfish to create photo blankets and been delighted by the look and softness.
www.snapfish.co.uk
BLACK23 applies a 50% discount to all products, no minimum spend. Offer ends 24/11
I always make the Plush Fleece Photo Blanket, 40x30" (not the more expensive premium ones). They are £36.99 but code above gets you 50% if you sort it in the next day!

OkyDoke · 23/11/2023 14:45

@GlobetrottingPercy How old is he?

Turtleoo · 23/11/2023 15:03

@Timelass there are quite a few options on Groupon (I noticed yesterday when buying a photobook) Can't recommend any in particular but worth checking if a company someone recommends on here has their product on Groupon

nimski · 23/11/2023 15:07

Does anyone have a student discount for wackysox.com? They don't seem to be doing any black friday type offers :-(

My grandsons have asked for photos blankets (of their pets)
I usualy buy soft fleece blankets ( Xbox , pokemon etc) from supermarkets , which are thick and fluffy.
Looking online I am not sure of the quality of the photo blankets.
I would be interested to hear of any mumsnet experience and also recommendations of which online company to purchase from.
They are add on presents, so don't want to spend a huge amount.

I would also recommend Snapfish! This is a blanket from them. I think it's the £60 one, but I got 50% off. I wouldn't recommend adding a border to your picture as you can see they didn't print it precisely! After I complained, they sent me a new one for free, which was slightly improved but still a bit off. It wouldn't have been noticeable if it was just the picture.

The back is velvety soft and cosy. It doesn't feel plasticky or anything. But definitely try and take advantage of the half off voucher!

@recklessgran I have four boys and my eldest DS is autistic although on the higher end of the spectrum (so verbal). He is 18 now but used to love fidget toys and his weighted blanket. All four of my boys have always loved colouring books and colouring pencils for Christmas. Always go down as one of their most used presents. So
I would get that for each of the boys and a selection box. You would get loads for a budget of £15 each.

Has anyone seen this for less than £20? I've been looking all week but no joy 🤦🏻‍♀️ Any suggestions appreciated x

Sainsbury's had it for £12.50, in their half price toy discount, I don't know, maybe they might still have some left in stock?

@timelass Someone recommended photoblanket.co.uk on a previous thread so that might be worth checking out if you haven't already

PurpleSkittle · 23/11/2023 15:39

@BeauticianNotMagician81 My DS is a similar age and I'd think getting a colouring book for most 10-12 year old boys I know wouldn't go down very well (seen as too babyish at an age when they're wanting to feel more grown up?). It's lovely that your boys are still into them.

@recklessgran A set of Posca pens or similar seem to be well received by arty tweens and teens.

A friend got my DS a teddy fleece blanket a couple of years ago from Dunelm which went down really well and we had to buy one each for everyone else in the house to stop us fighting over it (the Dunelm ones are particularly thick and soft and they do loads of colour options). Or the photo blankets that other posters are talking about could be good, but maybe too pricey?

Alternatively I think this age group are really happy if they receive money so they can choose for themselves.

ArthurChristmas22 · 23/11/2023 15:48

@recklessgran I hate to open up the debate again but as a mother to a 12 year old DS I would say a fake oodie! Mine barely takes his off. Thread has lots of recommendations and offers. He loves Lego but many of his friends don't. Otherwise, something totally bizarre is usually a hit: recommendation for multi pen was a great idea up thread, lock picking set, anything from hype. Hope that helps.

ArthurChristmas22 · 23/11/2023 16:13

Ok, I have just fully reviewed my lists and I am very nearly there. I need a couple of filler presents for DS December birthday.

That means I have to move onto buying gifts from ageing parents for my kids, sorted DS but clueless for DD18. Shes just had her birthday and is drowning in jewellery, toiletries, makeup. She has all tech she wants. She has oodie, blankets etc. Does not need bags!!

Any inspirational ideas for her. About £50. One idea is she's very crafty, likes making things. Any adult craft ideas?

Not sure if that means I have to leave the thread before I start twitching 😂

And thank you to whoever suggested Roka bags to me. I waited and waited and then got a BF deal today!

Reepycheepy · 23/11/2023 16:16

@recklessgran - I have two DSs that age and agree that they do like money now too. However they also seem to love a snack box - particular an American or Japanese one ( I’m guessing because of YouTube!) as another idea. It can look like not much when you get it is the only thing. Would also agree with fleece blanket. One is into funko pops but the other isn’t. LED light strips they can put up in their room have also been a hit.
