Hi

I am really struggling for a main present for my 3 year old girl. I can think of lots of things at £10 (!) but no big ticket items.

She's got a bike, scooter, play kitchen, play shop, tablet. She loves princesses, peppa pig (help me Lord!), role play, animals.

Any ideas greatly recieved! X

Doll pushchair?

Dollhouse? I've seen loads of affordable wooden ones around recently

NameChange30 · 19/11/2023 18:38

A few people have mentioned doll and pushchair, my 3yo has those and enjoys playing with them. I got a toy cot for the doll but she doesn't play with it much, seems to become a dumping ground for teddies etc. I think she'd like a toy sling for carrying her doll around so that's on the Christmas list.

i recently got out the tea set and she loves it so that's a good option if you don't already have one.

It is tricky because we already have most of the things mentioned; doctors set, brio train set, play tent, teepee, den-making kit (yes, all three!), play shop/theatre (one on each side)... the only thing we don't have that's been mentioned a lot is a doll's house, although we don't have a lot of space so I might get a small portable one.

Is some of that from family or is it all from you?

Similar boat here - have a 3 year old who has an older sibling and has just had a birthday so no idea what to get her.

She’s already got all of the things mentioned on this thread so far 😬. Older sibling is getting a bike. I don’t feel I have to spend equal amounts on them but DC2 needs something!!

If anyone has any ideas not mentioned yet please say!

How about this?

I've decided not to get DD a "big" present just for the sake of it. Am getting:

  • Elsa dress (she loves dresses and we don't have any "girly" dressing up stuff)
  • Vtech microphone (linked in a previous post)
  • And maybe a curlimals... she is loving soft toys atm.
A family member is getting a toy carrier for her doll. If other people ask for ideas I don't know what I'll say!

Buy the Floss & Rock Playbox at KIDLY UK

The Floss & Rock Playbox - A great play set with wooden figures that's brilliant for travel and days out.

This looks awesome - if we didn't already have loads of duplo I'd consider it

We don't have much playmobil and I've just had a look at the website, they have some good things... I think my DD would like the water-based toys:

Magnets. Cannot recommend enough. My two girls now 2 and 4 have played with them regularly since we got them a couple of years ago.

weaningdoubts · 20/11/2023 13:47

I've bought my 3 year old a tonie box from the black Friday deal and also getting magnet tile things. She's asked for a paw patrol car from father Christmas and that's about it!

ManchesterLu · 20/11/2023 13:59

I'd make the most of it before she requests expensive/big gifts. Money/size means nothing to a girl of 3. Get her a few things you know she will enjoy. Don't just buy things for the sake of it. I always think a 'big' gift should be asked for. If you've got to ask for inspiration for a big gift, obviously it's not needed.

mrssunshinexxx · 20/11/2023 15:51

Tonies !
I think the yoto look really cheap!

gm2023 · 20/11/2023 15:54

My daughter is a similar age (and a second child too so we have most things already) and I’ve bought a Lego Gabby’s Dollhouse from Very as her main present. It was on offer and I paid just over £45 for it. The only thing she has asked for is a Barbie ballerina (the one on the front of the Smyths toy catalogue) so I think that sometimes smaller, much wanted items can be a bigger hit than the ones that come in big boxes!

Hmm Assume you have never actually seen a Yoto Player or Yoto Mini in real life. I can assure you they don't look cheap. They are certainly better value than Tonies (Yoto cards are cheaper than Tonie figures) but that doesn't make them cheap.
jannier · 20/11/2023 16:21

3 year olds don't look at value why do you need to think of something big to buy for the sake of it?
Put money aside and give something small.
Buy a season ticket

mrssunshinexxx · 20/11/2023 18:52

@NameChange30 obviously I've seen them in real life or how would I of come to that conclusion.

NameChange30 · 20/11/2023 18:55

I made the mistake of looking at the Smyths toy catalogue with DD... she wants literally everything in it 🤣

Justnoidea · 20/11/2023 21:59

@mrssunshinexxx weve got both yoto and tonie boxes (both were presents) and I really wouldn’t say that either of them looks cheap? Yoto definitely has more longevity, the cards are cheaper and easier to carry than the tonies.

My 3yo likes playing with the tonie figures but imo that is not a good thing as we can never find them come bedtime!

villamariavintrapp · 20/11/2023 23:29

Mine is getting a yoto.

Same situation with our three year old having two older siblings and a recent birthday, joining for inspiration, some great ideas on here!

NameChange30 · 21/11/2023 11:43
