Does the Velvitiser ever come down in price over Black Friday?

I know you can buy it as a VIP member for 69.99 which is a great price but just wondered if it ever comes down lower than that during the Black Friday deals? I'm thinking it probably wouldn't?

Hope so I've wanted one for aggrsss

GettingStuffed · 11/11/2023 16:59

I got one from QVC last year. I wasn't cheaper per se but came with mugs and chocolate.

HolidayHolllie · 11/11/2023 17:06

QVC usually do a deal around about now

think it's about £80 and I got chocolate, coffee and cups with it

anon2134 · 11/11/2023 17:09

I paid £99 for mine 2 years ago from hotel chocolate and got mugs and a box of mixed hot chocolates.

roonetta · 11/11/2023 17:57

They are currently £89.99 at Very with 10 chocolate sachets. Not sure if that's cheap or not.

Cockroachmum · 11/11/2023 18:09

It's just the same as a regular milk frother but twice the price! It's made by Dualit, I believe.

yoshiblue · 11/11/2023 20:08

Costco often have deals

Justhereforthechristmasthreads · 11/11/2023 20:30

I don't think you will get it cheaper than the 69.99 VIP offer as it is always excluded from Hotel Chocolat discount codes. VIP is free to join. Machine comes with 2 pod cups and if you order online it gives you option to buy hot chocolate sachets at same time for £10 i think (normally 13.50)

I never think the QVC 'deals' for it are a good price

SecretVictoria · 11/11/2023 20:37

Got mine for £95 with a box of chocolate sachets and 3 packs of their chocolates. Weirdly, it was cheaper to do that than just buy it on its own 🤷‍♀️.
This was from the shop in person.

Lakeland have a similar one for just under £40. Good reviews.

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 11/11/2023 20:50

I’ve heard the Aldi one is a very good dupe, but no idea when, or even if, they will ever do it again.

I don't recommend the Velvetiser. It doesn't come out warm enough at all and the portion size is tiny! You need to make 2 in order to fill an average sized mug and then it needs to go in the microwave! So basically it just mixes

MegBusset · 12/11/2023 09:00

I got mine on a special deal in the summer for about £57. Inc mugs and 10 sachets.

I love it and use it every day.

allhellcantstopusnow · 12/11/2023 09:18

@PabloandGustheGreySquirrels the velvetiser and other milk frothers (we have the lavazza) produce milk at that temp because that's the temp they're supposed to be. It's milk, not water.

If anyone serves you a coffee or a hot chocolate that you can't drink comfortably almost from the minute it's handed to you, they don't know what they're doing.

Same argument for when people get shirty about some coffee cups not having handles, it shouldn't be so hot that you can't hold the cup anyway.

AnOldCynic · 12/11/2023 09:25

Lavazza A Modo Mia. Looks neater without a handle, makes gorgeous hot chocolate and only £50 direct from Lavazza.

sneakymumalert · 12/11/2023 09:26

Robert Dyas sell a similar one for 39.99. I have it and it's great!

Cookerhood · 12/11/2023 09:29

DD has the Aldi one & it was very good but didn't last long. She's on her second one (I had one in the cupboard against my Dualit breaking as it's been used every day for 4 years). Mind you for £20...

Peablockfeathers · 12/11/2023 09:32

It probably won't come down much further if at all, its a decent price though as comes with 2 of the cups and you can get 2 boxes of your choice for £20 which saves a bit more money. I am a big fan to be honest, people moan about the temp but if you're using the flakes from HC its the perfect temp to ensure the chocolate tastes it's best- you can pre heat your cup and give it a second blast for a few seconds though for a warmer drink. I've tried all sorts of milk frothers over the years and have found the velvetiser my favourite.

Peablockfeathers · 12/11/2023 09:33

You also can get a free box of the dipping biscuits when you register for the warranty (but have to pay postage so maybe just add them onto a future order).

Desolatewardrobe · 12/11/2023 09:36

They are made by Dualit. The Dualit milk frother is identical in what it does and is under £60 all over the place.

Kitkat1523 · 12/11/2023 09:37

Not cheaper…. But more ‘add ons’ included

I never said I want it at a temperature that I can’t handle?! Why would I put it in the microwave afterwards to make it too hot to drink comfortably?! You've just made that up.
The drinks it makes are too cool for me and many, many other people have said the same thing about it, it's not even hot! Hot chocolate is supposed to be hot not lukewarm!
Also as I said, the amount it makes is only half of the average sized tea/coffee mug

viques · 12/11/2023 10:16

I got sucked into one of their subscription deals, which turned out not to be for me ( but in the end turned out very easy to cancel )as I realised I much prefer the Charbonnel and Walker chocolate flakes, which are fabulous. HC is very sweet and I don’t like many of their fancy flavours.

viques · 12/11/2023 10:18

I find the temperature is better if you make it 90% milk, 10%water.
