…….organise the freezer space and get if it stops raining I’ll go into town to WHSmiths to hopefully get the dark chocolate toblerone for ds’s stocking. I’m also going to make a few more Pom poms for my Pom Pom wreath.

Whst are you all doing today in preparation for the big day?

DH took delivery of a black cat plushy for DD21(almost).
Tomorrow I will be collecting an order of shirts for DH from Asda.
Just my 2 cats and DD’s hamster and gerbil (because we are crackers) to buy for. She has even suggested a present I could get for her tank of fish. Yep. That’s the sort of people we are. 😆

I ordered my present from DH. I sent him the link to something I like as a suggestion and it’s currently being sold at 40% off.

But he asked if I would order it as I have a PayPal account and so it was definitely the right item. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I love him to bits though 😆💕 But I hope he doesn’t expect me to look surprised on Christmas Day.

I went real life shopping and managed to get a few gifts and some foodie items from tkmax. Ordered a few more gifts online. I have almost finished. Soon be time to start wrapping.

DCs (15 and 17) keep threatening to give me their Christmas lists but it never happens....

They always want things that have to be ordered online so time is ticking on.

I felt more organised a week ago than I do today. I thought I had pretty firm shopping lists sorted for everyone on a big spreadsheet. However I've had a rethink about a few items and now it all needs looking at again. My job for today is to finalise the lists and make sure the kids lists are still balanced so I can start ordering. I'd promised myself I would be done by the start of December this year so I need to get a shuffle on. I have a dream of being finished and being able to sit back and enjoy December with just a bit of light wrapping. Tomorrow I need to look at the food shop.

Yesterday I got my husband to get the pudding basins down, and today my son and I will soak the fruit for the Christmas puddings in brandy.

We bought our son's Christmas presents last night too, which is a weight off my mind.

Yesterday in preparation I made a long shopping list for all the food we need over the Christmas season. We're hosting a lot of family (23 people!) on Christmas Eve so I think we'll just do a buffet. I'm thinking a cheeseboard, deli meats, pate, sliced baguette, roast vegetable pasta salad, smoked salmon, crudités and dips etc. Probably Yule log and Eton Mess for dessert. Crisps and olives for nibbles and lots of booze. Essentially simple things that I can prep easily on the day.

I was meaning to be more organised than I am at the moment. Work is relentless and I'm struggling to cope. Can anyone help me find the energy and motivation to get Christmas organised. I need some time this evening I think to write task and shopping / gift lists.

I am making brandy butter and stuffing today and freezing both, although I will keep back some of the brandy butter as I have found an individual Christmas pudding from Fortnum and Mason that I must have forgotten from last year ... will sample tonight .

I’m supposed to be tidying the house but whilst I was tidying I found some large yellow gift tags that will just fit ds’s feet on so I went upstairs and used his paints to paint them black and now I guess I should get back to tidying whilst they dry 😂 I will paint ds’s foot white when they are dry to make hanging snowmen for the grandparents as well as one for us to keep 😝

Went to Asda with DH to pick up some tubs of celebrations as Christmas/Thank you presents for depts in the hospital that has overseen my care following an operation.
Also picked out a tree to be collected on Friday as we already had enough to carry. They have a few in stock.

I've donated to a local Christmas fund me page and provided a wrapped donated gift, again locally.

I’m defrosting the fridge-freezer and I’ve moved everyday stuff over to the new freezer.
We've all had this vile cold so I’m about 2 weeks behind with my little jobs. Finally feeling up to sorting stuff out as it’s getting closer!

A few parcels arrived today. Two of them pin badges for DD a Guinea pig one for her birthday next week and for Christmas one of a white rat eating pizza.
I also collected shirts I ordered online for DH.

Today I ordered a book for dgs1 and a box of pickled onion monster munch for sil. I also ordered festive coffee pods which will help me get in the right frame of mind. Tomorrow I'll update my Christmas present list and check what still needs bought.

This is what I’ve done today - I’ve assembled Balthazar!

Today I rearranged the living room ready for the tree. It’s going up early this year as we have plans every other weekend between now and Christmas and I don’t want to be in a rush. DS is 5 so decorating will take 8x as long as previous years!

DH’s birthday is mid December so I’ve been to get his birthday cards and Christmas cards while I had time.

I just found a Christmas cookie recipe that I may attempt on the weekend.

I really should be rearranging the lounge right now as I've got the same issue. In fact the tree should have gone up tonight. Instead I am lying on my bed faffing about choosing scented candles and stroking the cat whilst watching Friends.

@RainbowZebraWarrior I’ve been looking at scented candles too! White company have 20% off so I’m torn between that and a NEOM one.
