How to say we're not buying gifts for adults this year.

Hi all,
I need help delicately drafting a message to some family members and friends please! We are at an age now where some of our siblings and friends have young children, our Christmas list has doubled in the last few years, we now have about a dozen children to buy for at Christmas. We're not complaining, we love it and each child will get a thoughtful gift from us.
We want to suggest that we just buy gifts for the children at Christmas now though (as in, we buy for their kids but not the adults, we don't have kids and aren't expecting gifts from these families). I have no idea how to word this? I'm sure I'm over thinking it!

I'm not suggesting you do this for one minute but thought you might find it amusing. One of my friends from work said her sister had said to her - don't buy me any shit for Christmas anymore . I'm sick of getting shit at Christmas!
If I was bored I used to ask her to tell me what her sister said about Christmas again ! But I do know what she meant ! Perhaps put it a bit more politely !

We stopped it after two of the gifts from my PiL were a tea towel and a double CD of housework songs.

I doubt the charity shop the ended up in got more than 50p for either of them, so it was an utter waste of money and time buying them.

The tea towel and CD ended up in the charity shop, not PIL.
