Have sent you a PM

I’ve sent you a PM but you have saved me a literal fortune. It means so much, I can’t thank you enough 💗
I do believe that as you give you get and I wish you abundance in your life. And a wonderful time preparing for Christmas
Thank you

just a heads up and it might just be a one off but in B&M today i for some reason checked the bb dates on the kinder xmas chocolates and they were all well out of date.

OliviaFlaversham · 22/10/2023 16:43

We don’t have a Sainsburys near us so as we are visiting friends, I popped into their local store and the toy sale was all getting replenished! I assumed it was a once it has gone it’s gone type offer but when we left at closing, all shelves were full. Have attached a couple of photos. Bakugan offers were amazing.

Buy brand new from Vinted

Outonaschoolnight · 22/10/2023 17:35

Nice Sanctuary set in Boots Star Gift section. £27 for lots of full size products!

If anyone has a 20% off Lakeland hamper code they aren’t using, I would be very grateful - DP thought it was junk and threw the vouchers away!

WithIcePlease · 22/10/2023 17:36

Curry Legend have 33% off their kits bringing them down to £22.78

They've been recommended many times on MN

Beckafett · 22/10/2023 17:38

Hi all; I think this may have been mentioned on an earlier thread; but has anyone got/seen any deals on an ice cream cart like the leap frog one? My eldest (12) was reading the symths catalogue today and bemoaned that she never got it so I'd like to get her a cheaper version for fun.

Is there a big difference in oodies or something like this from M&S?

https://www.marksandspencer.com/fleece-spencer-bear-oversized-hoodie/p/clp60622203#intid=pid_pg1pip48g4r9c4%7Cprodflag_sparks-offer%7Cprodflag_Matching%20family%20pyjamas

DD has asked for a oversized hoodie but i can't decide if its worth spending more on a oodie.

I feel like I need to do a public service announcement every time someone asks if oodies are worth it - ive got a primark one and the real deal and there is absolutely NO comparison what so ever. I'd recommend a real one to absolutely everyone - it gets to the point in winter sometimes I have to take my socks off just to cool down they're that good!

I've got the snoopy version of that (£10 brand new from Vinted) and DD has an oodie. The M&S ones are lovely. Sort of thick but single layer fleece. The oodies are double thickness and too heavy (and hot) to me. They are also very bulky.

ETA - I see a PP has said they love their oodie and often take their socks off as they get so warm. I guess what it boils down to is are you a very cold person who adores being toasty, or are you a menopausal like me warm soul already who doesn't necessarily like getting over heated 😊

Freezingtoes · 22/10/2023 17:57

@Outonaschoolnight I have a hamper code if you would like it?

This is true BUT it depends what you want from it- I prefer my cheap one because I get too hot in my oodie and find it too heavy. It definitely is thicker, warmer and better quality if that is what you are after.

Smileatthesmallthings · 22/10/2023 18:01

@Beckafett Someone near me was selling a leapfrog one on Facebook for a fiver so worth ab look second hand if it's just a joke gift. Better quality ice cream set would be the Melissa and Doug one and would resell well I think. And the playdough one is good if you can get a bargain on it. We have them all 🤷 if you got a second hand one you could probably get one of the colour in ice cream trucks or shops from Hobbycraft too - they're often half price.

DD has asked for a oversized hoodie but i can't decide if its worth spending more on a oodie.

It depends on whether you think it will be used? How often you need to wash it. How hot dd gets/how cold your house is.

We have a variety in our house, so always one about incase of washing (dds and I live in them and often get food etc on them!)

Dd1 has an actual oodie and a thinner one from dunhelm, the dunhelm one gets far more wear. She finds the actual oodie too hot, heavy and bulky to be doing anything besides lounging in. She wears her dunhelm one when doing drawing, homework etc.

Dd2 has a primark one, she couldn't stand the heaviness of the oodie but still wanted a thick one. She's quite slim and petite and they did 2 sizes so doesn't drown her as much but is still baggy on her.

I have a kuddly one which is very nice and thick. In-between the primark and oodie in terms of coziness and thickness. I can still potter around cleaning etc in it without it getting in the way. I also have a dunhelm one for when I'm a bit chilly, I actually wear this more often as I'm usually rushing about getting hot!

The dunhelm ones I take to the laundrette to tumble dry, they dry super fast and its lovely putting them on straight from the dryer. You can't tumble the others as they have that sherpa fleece that goes weird when it gets tumbled! Also take ages to dry on the airer!

balance I was looking for DMs for DH, and ended up getting some BNWT from Vinted.

They were just under £90 instead of the £120ish I could get them for with codes on ASOS plus, you know, sustainable and helping a real person rather than a shop… def worth a look!

Thank you, I never even thought of Vinted! And love the sustainable part of that too! Now wondering what potential Christmas gifts I may be able to find for my partner on there too.

Thank you to all those who mentioned Vinted for the suggestion ❤

If it’s anything like the M&S one I gif for DS last year, it’s great quality and one of his most-worn items.

DD had a real Oodie last year and wears a lighter dressing gown more as she finds the top warm. They are incredibly heavy and I feel claustrophobic even thinking about them 😂

ProseccoandPizza · 22/10/2023 18:33

I love this for the contrast! Both DS and myself are likely undiagnosed ASD and absolutely love our Oodies. For me it definitely fulfils sensory needs much like a weighted blanket. I also pretty much only wear it for lounging and then fall asleep in it 😅

I'm getting one from FB marketplace for a £5 tomorrow!! Again a big thank you

I feel like opening a shop of 'Try before you buy' oodies and hooded blankets. I'm just pleased I got DDs oodie from Everything£5 as I'd have been gutted to have spent full price. She feels it's too soft and it makes me feel claustrophobic. Mind, we are in the minority of people with ASD who don't get on with weighted blankets either 😄

I don't think it's been mentioned, but there are lovely Christmas oven gloves free at the Lakeland Christmas shopping event on 3/4/5th Nov (for anyone who is a MyLakeland member and has a physical shop near them) Could be worth signing up now for anyone who isn't already a member

If anyone is looking to buy a watch as a gift, Watch Station has 40% extra off their outlet range - one was down to £83 from £199. Some nice brands in there.

There’s also some Michael Kors jewellery heavily discounted too.

Smileatthesmallthings · 22/10/2023 19:01

@Beckafett Fantastic - glad I could help! The Hobbycraft colour in cardboard houses are half price at the minute and they have an ice cream shop. Sign up for the app and you get 15% off or a £5 voucher I think.
